  • You're a bitch if you dislike this video

  • Bravo Battery 1st Bn 11th Marines. I was on gun 1 with SSgt Vest. I miss all my brothers.

  • There goes my money flying far away

  • @jdeurriola Lol

  • eeerrrrr

  • "Rounds complete on 3!" hell yah that was me on the hooks...Sgt Thorn Gun 3, out!

  • I remember this fire mission :) K3/12-2/11 Gun 1 powder monkey, chief SSGT.Garcia

  • Didn't know they sent that many first before doing coordinate connections :O

  • @juki009 I'm sure they did before they started shooting video. One gun firing an adjust fire mission isn't the most exciting footage. Once an accurate location of the target is found that's is passed up to Regimental FDC and then the whole regiment is brought into the fire mission for the Regimental Fire For Effect.

-Former Golf Battery, 2nd Battalion 11th Marine Fire Direction Control Man (Jan 2001- Aug 2004)

  • that was a fun night

  • Damn someone is getting fucked up lol

  • Is this from the movie Severe Clear?

  • 54 M198's fire for effect DPICM each shell loaded with 88 armor/anti personnel grenades. I don't even think the cockroaches survived that impact area. I guess someone wanted something wiped off the face of earth.

  • 1/11 Rain of Pain

  • American firepower rocks!!!!!!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA ! dammit I'm happy to be on the right side of those guns :)

  • this is what happens when death and the taliban play catch, and death has the first throw...

  • thats some righteous hand of god shit right t here

  • Of all the BS banter back and forth on this page, only one thing is certainly true....whoever was on the receiving end of this had a bad night.

  • This is unbelievable! Can anyone tell me how many guns encompass a regiment?

    Thanks for posting.

  • @fernjf 72 howitzers in a Marine artillery regiment.

  • hmmm i think my regiment runs.... a lot... lol lets see, im fifth battalion we have four batteries most have three, each battery usually runs six guns, you do the math.

  • Definatley DPICM, M864 to be exact.

M594 or RAP also has a rocket, however the rocket on the RAP only burns for (if I remember right) 7 seconds. Great video I remember this night well, something I will never forget.

  • @killershrub23 actually its the M549 and M549A1

  • @tylhodgson No, it is M864. Ask your instructor at Ft. Sill.

  • rocknroll!

  • I would imagine that makes the artillery bombardment scenes from Band of Brothers look like childs play. Holy shit.

  • @toaster1971 like a walk in the park man.

  • Steel Rain baby, Fuck Yeh!!! lol

  • That's a lot of guns. Hate to be on the receiving end of that.

  • Well, that was an impressive firemission. I was in the Corps in the early-mid 80's, motor T. Not much going on when I was in, other than Beriut. I think i hauled enough 155 ammo in one semi truckload once to support a fire mission like that in the Stumps

  • I'm latin and I know the damage that the jewish are doing to this country with the AIPAC that control the government and the hate organization know as the ADL.

  • The jewish state defending it's interests using the american blood for it's purpose.

  • @barbarotico Luckily, I think being an american means having 'advanced citizenship'. That means, even though I know your statement to be meritless, hate-filled drivel, I will not remove it. I hold the right of free speech too close to my heart.

  • @IIIAmativeIII

    "advanced citinzenship"?

    Isn't that a little bit...arrogant?

  • @RgSchmitt Not at all. I in no way exaggerated the caliber of U.S. citizenship. I never stated it was the best (it's a manmade creation, and therefore has it's flaws) and I know it's better than, say, Myanmar citizenship.

  • @IIIAmativeIII Wow! That was deep and well said.

  • @barbarotico

But self-defence is an important interest, wouldn`t you agree? ;D

  • @Bazgatow87 The jewish has not right to self defense because hey damaged the european nations.

    They done the french revolution.

    They plotted the bolchevick revolution.

    They plotted the ww1.

    They plotted the ww2.

  • @barbarotico Take your hate-filledbullshit somewhere that gives a fuck about your moronic opinion.

  • @barbarotico Before you talk about american blood, pls check the bloodflow to your brain. I suspect you may still have the umbilical cord wraped around your neck...

  • I was a part of this fire mission. I was with Echo Battery 2/11 artillery. I was a motor transport poerator, but drove ammo and helped fire those rounds. What a blast!! It was amazing!

  • I was with A 1/11 during this push it is forever engrained in my memories...

  • artillery is going to be my MOS anyone got tips or suggestions

  • @weaponman321 get use to eating mre's always dirty in the field, smell like gunpowder and if you lucky to be in 29 palms always deployed and in the shit!!

  • @mocr562 yep, absolutely right...and get ready to get the shit trained out of you for artillery, only to go to Afghanistan and do patrols, check points, and post in some place in the middle of nowhere.

  • I was the recorder on gun 1 battery T5/11 and have the recorder sheets for this mission.

  • Dpicm extended range with base burn. Not rap. Two totally different things.

  • I was part of this mission! Tango 5/11 gun 1.

  • Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me psalm 23:4

  • @jasongalaroza

    More like:

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, i will fear no evil...for I am the meanest, baddest motherfucker in the whole valley!"

  • orah lima 3/11

  • Okay so next week I go to pick my job for the Marines and to sign a date for boot camp. Can someone tell me if Artillery is a good idea, and how dangerous it is please?

  • Well think about it. Where does arty usually stay? Toward the rear of an attack :D

  • By now you have picked your job but here is my two cents. If you are looking to stay out of danger, but still want to serve. Join the Airforce. I was Marine Artillery(Probably know a few guys who posted here too, Anyone remember dragons in Fort Sill), but I spent more time with the infantry line companies. I was a 0861(forward observer). If I had to do it over again, Id do it right. Go 03!

  • haha we weren't allowed to go their

  • @Cmartin40 If you wanna live in the field all the time and get yelled at for not knowing what the difference between an M549 and an M549A1 is and train like hell to go overseas and do nothing but watch people through your RCO emplacing IEDs on the route into your base and be able to do nothing about it, then sign up for arty. Otherwise, go be IPAC and enjoy the AC.

  • Happy Birthday Marines!!! Semper FI!

He who shed blood with me shall forever be my brother...

3/11 India MOS 0811 OIF & OIF II

  • @MrFire4Affect i was with india too

  • Not a RAP round, it's a base-burn DPICM

  • Awesome! I was part of that fire mission too. FDC Rhino Battery. R 5/10 attached to 11th Marines. Had to go by Rhino because 5/11 also has a Romeo Battery. They went by Renegade.

  • poor bastards on the other end

  • I was part of this fire mission India Battery 3/11 A night I will never forget Madness!!

  • What unit gave Nasaryiah hell shooting over the river, I think it was the Uphretes. Somebody help me out. I was an amtracker carrying 3/7. They were down the street and kept us up all night. Never saw anything like it and will never forget it.

  • Make it rain!! Steel that is!

  • we fucking dropped hell on them fucking rag-heads!!!!!!!!

  • This fire mission is actually 4 April 2003, south east of Baghdad. Right before the cordon of 1stMarDiv. Casey Harsh sends

  • Holy shit.

  • how many guns in a Regt?

  • In a full artillery battery there are 6 cannons. In 3 batteries in a battatlion, including a HQ unit, that is 18 cannons. In a regiment there are 4 battalions. Could be around 72 cannons! We did many Regimental Fire Missions in Iraq 2003..Before then the last time, was Vietnam!

  • WHOEVER was on the recieving end of that, you know their ass hole was puckerin.lol

  • @artifactman660 lmao naw man they didn't have one after that. it and everything else was gone.

    DPICM is some nasty shit.

  • Holy shit that is some serious firepower.

  • I'm guessing no special instructions? those where like 10 sec turnarounds at least. lol

    3/11 Marine over here.

  • Steel rain

  • thats one of the baddest things I've ever seen. So in other words stay the "fuck away from our country"

  • oorah charlie, charlie battery myself 2000 to 2004 las pulgas, still the same

  • woow that one hell of a bombardment

  • Charlie Battery 1/11 Las Pulgas 1983-1986

  • request splash, over...

  • When you can......thats when you shoot that much

  • when would you need to shoot that much? I dont understand

  • apparently, you don't fuck with us.

  • What was the target?

  • Man imagine a war between a country like China or Russian and the US.

neither side would truly have air dominance... and would be able to keep their tanks and artillery somewhat safe, unlike the iraqis.... what im trying to say is.... imagine this video, just with BOTH outgoing AND Incoming fire... that'd be some scary shit.

  • We would win because we own the air and because of your accuracy and training. Believe, the US has some damn good troops! We have weapons that we haven't fired yet!

  • Really, so the Taliban controls 70% of Afghanistan? That's funny, I guess you believe everthing CNN says!(LOL)

  • Kid? Nope I am 35 yrs old and I have seen the world. Never believed the WMD thing. Servicemembers do have minds of their own, ya know.

  • Whatever man. This is the internet and people like you who obviously get off on naming calling need to serious find a hobby. I just come on here for pure entertainment. This will be my last time replying to you because you are a complete waste of my time. Yeah, tell ya Mom that I will leave a tip on the dresser when I leave!

  • @marineman74 I concur, I mean, my opinion doesn't hold much weight, I only spent 7 months there, but, the taliban doesn't really control much but back water ass towns with like, 10 people in them. Can't shoot, but those bastards are good at making bombs though.

  • You forgot to mention the BB - base bleed. Gives the DPICM a little extra range.

  • DPICM - Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munition. 155mm tube launched round with 88 2.5" armor piercing grenades. Counted about 155 rounds, there abouts. Thats over 13 thousand grenades in the area of 2 football fields. Never make the U.S.A. mad. Have a Nice Day.

  • I would hate to be the poor saps down range. Nice!

  • Yap- The same.

This must have been pretty ugly down there.

  • Sweet! I was Hotel 3/14, we were made a part of 1/11 during Desert Storm. Our end piece direct fired on a MLRS and made the history books.

    Semper Fi

  • 1st Sgt Hessler.....CHUCKY!!!!! you NJP me twice! lmao!!! and i still made CPL hahahahhahaha

    CPL Castanaza aka NAZ

    KILO!!! 3/12!!!

  • All I can say is, regardless of when or who did this incredible display of 'fireworks', just remember... "Semper fidelis" signifies the dedication and loyalty that individual Marines have for "Corps and Country", even after leaving service. Thankyou Mr.WIKI ;)

  • SNACK, I was there in Kilo 3/12. Although the Regt was there, each battery was attached to diff Bn's like it is back in the rear. 12th Marines only has a Regt Hq, no Firing batteries. So, the Batteries were there not the Regt HQ.

    Chuck

  • im in C 1/12 i was just wantin to get the story strait but i had heared legends in the baty that 12th marine regemint was also raining death on the same target that very night

  • Was also in C 1/12 from '00 to '03 Guns Platoon. Keep the party goin!

  • thats some good shit but the date is wrong it was in 03 not 04

  • Yeah I was going to say the same thing. I was right there when it happened. I was on the road to the right. Very beautiful sight to see. I remember waking up to the same sight and sound.

  • I got to Iraq too late... you don't see stuff like this over there anymore...

  • I realize the video was shot thru nite vision, but were those RAP rounds? 'cause I know artillery doesn't use tracers...

  • They are rocket assisted rounds.

  • wow. the best firework display in action ever :D

  • FDC HQ 2/11 - Hot Shot

    DSC-1970's

Slide Rules & Paper Plot Charts!

  • They were SHAKIN, anyone know if they were BAKIN at all with the WP? or was it just pure shake with the DPICM

  • I was there with Kilo 3/12, 1st Sgt Hessler,

  • hay i was out there with hq 2/11 i was the one on the hooks helping put this whole thing together. but for the life of me does anyone remember the tgt number for this mission?

  • Damn, That was awesome.

Each one of those projectiles 155mm? contain 88 grenades/bomblets.

Sure sucks to be on the other side of that.

Another pure example of why artillery is, "The King of Battle".

Night or day, any clime or place.

    We'll be there.

    On time, on target.

    Semper Fidelis My Brothers!

  • I remember that night. Semper Fi India 3/11

  • That fottage was shot from bravo batterys pos. My battery gunny sorrino was the one who shot it. He's the guy speaking in the background. It was base bleed dpicms not raps. I was on gun 6.

  • The guy I received the video information from has waivered back an forth on which rounds were being fired (could be due to the wicked PTSD he's got now)... First it was DPICM then it RAP. So, I could certainly be wrong. He was in the trailer you can sort make out in the background.

  • May your brother recover quickly from his PTSD, and come back to living a life that he has truly earned the right to enjoy.

  • WOW, that was AWESOME!!! ... I was in the first little skirmish DS/DS/DC in 90/91 ... Fox Btry 2/11 ... We didn't get to have that much fun unless you count the three unluckiest assholes in the Iraqi army down by the border of kuwait/saudi arabia. 2nd Battalion ... a battalion 3 with HE follow by a battalion 3 with WP! Nice fire afterwards! Ohh FUCKIN Raaaaa!!!

  • God I remember this like it was yesterday......Echo Battery 2/11 baby 2002-2006! Three tours in OIF.

  • God fights on the side with the best artillery. - Napoleon Bonaparte

  • As an MLRS guy, even I have to say, that was badass!

  • That was, quite possibly, one of the coolest videos ever.

  • I say we pour some of this shit into Iran and get them to STFU

  • Wow I was there too.. My unit and I was Romeo 5/10, we were attached too 5/11 Marines in Iraq for the invasion from Feb-June 2003. I remember many nights like that. Our battalion 5/11 shot over 6600 arty rounds during the liberation of Iraq. Semper Fi.. Cpl 0811-2000-2004

  • Artillery is so badass

  • India 3/10 was attached to 11th marines for this.

Semper Fi.. Cpl-2000-2004

  • two of the batteries from 2/11 was tied up at the "crossing." The first night Kilo and one other battery was the only one shooting for 3/5 and 1/5 the whole first night into the GOSP's Fox and Echo was so mad we also was shooting 3 g/b that day in April

  • 11th Marines RULE!!! i was in alpha 1/11 90-94 Semper FI

  • That was on the outskirts of baghdad, but it was april of 2003. I was with E 2/11 on the far left flank near the road. We had been there since the afternoon. I remember because we were shooting 3 green bags while it was still light outside. It was not on the first night because we crossed the border with 2/5 the first night while everyone else crossed the next morning. Therefore, it would not have been the whole regiment if we were crossing the border, while this was happening.

  • Yes, I know it was Apr '03 - I got f'd the intro up, but the date is correct in description up on the right.

  • two of the batteries from 2/11 was tied up at the "crossing." The first night Kilo and one other battery was the only one shooting for 3/5 and 1/5 the whole first night into the GOSP's Fox and Echo was so mad we also was shooting 3 g/b that day in April

  • I'm sorry USMC4LiFE it was on the outside of baghdad, I was there Kilo 3/12 was shooting just to the left of 2/11. We did not have a REGT fire mission the night of OIF.

    1st Sgt Hessler, kilo 3/12

  • sorry 1/11

  • wow i was there to i was a section chief in kilo btry during oif 1 cpl tunnell

  • gun two

  • 1st Sgt Hessler.....CHUCKY!!!!! you NJP me twice! lmao!!! and i still made CPL hahahahhahaha

    CPL Castanaza aka NAZ

  • You must have been a shitbag! lol Sgt. Teachey was your daddy! lol

  • this video was not from outside baghdad it was march 21st the night before we crossed the lod of the intial invasion of oif.

  • I'm afraid you are mistaken, sir. The source that gave me this video was the 2887 LCpl attached to 1/11 and has stated this fire mission took place outside Baghdad - you can see the radar truck he was working at in the video (he was brushing his teeth while this was going on). Also, an interesting triva fact, this was the first time since Vietnam that the entire regiment fired all at once.

  • well sir that was my old battery, and i was there on the gunline shooting, and the one who took the video was the battery gunny, and this was the intial invasion, casue this was the only time the hole regiment was together, cause after we crossed each bn, had its own mission so we spilt up, 1/11 went straight up the center on hwy 1 into baghdad.

  • we were firing into Baghdad, I remember it well. I went to gunline to help, DPICM

  • wtf is that???

  • massing of fire

  • SEMPER-FI

  • i wouldnt want to be on the recieving end!!!

  • That's sigline material right there!

  • charlie 1/11 right here, this clip makes me pop a chub

  • i dont think so that was bravo 1/11 cause that was my old btry gunny talking, get your story straight

  • i said charlie 1/11 right HERE (meaning im in charlie), not right there. im not tryin to tell "a story", get over it

  • sorry man, i thought you were trying to claim that awesome display of arty for yourself. how long you been with c i was with bravo from 01 to 04.

  • Whats up brother? That was Gunny Sorrino.

  • i HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR ALONG TIME, wAS THERE THAT NIGHT WITH kILO 3/12, WHAT A SUPRISE TO SHOOT A Regt Fire mission with DPICM

  • I'd like to see the target area the next day.

  • good job, teach those fuckers a lesson they won't forget

  • Hey IIIAmativeIII, nice clip bro. I was an artillery cannoneer to for the invasion back in 3/2003-6/2003. Brought back lots of memories. we were also attached to 5/11. Semper Fi Man!
