  • I threw up watching this video.

  • Wax on, wax off

  • Can't wait for 2012 Glove Day videos!

  • what size is that glove

  • @JUloERA7 Brandon's A2K 1786 is an 11.5" glove.

  • What color is his old game glove in the video?

  • I am soooo picky about how my glove feels I don't think I could ever order one online, I always try on MANY gloves until I find the one that feels right. This could be a problem because I wanna get a custom one soooo bad but I'm scared it just wouldn't feel right to me :/

  • Does anyone know a video of how to break the A2000 glove best for a infielder

  • @straightupla2y this video

  • Mreazykush throw two baseballs In there and wrap it for a deeper pocket

  • DAT DUDE. WE LOVE YOU, RESIGN WITH CINCY :).

  • just got an a2k today. love it

  • new "glove day" videos coming this year, Wilson? those were a hit in 2011!

  • Hey Wilson, is that "creme" looking color that Brandon uses is that white on your custom website??

  • @garr102 Sure is! We included it so you can design a “Casper” glove just like his!

  • Fwfdrrdd

  • I'm 11 and I play elite baseball in Canada and I have a Rawlings Gold Glove model right now. I'm not sure if I should stick with Rawlings because Rawlings has some nice gloves but yours look beutiful too. Could you just help me decide on what glove I should get if I buy one of yours. Model wise. Thank You

  • @EaglesBaseball101 What position do you play?

  • @wilsonballgloves outfield/pitcher

  • holy you say not to put lots of water it looks like he put a lot on.

  • I have watched this video at least 50 times because I like that mitt so much haha.

  • This is painful to watch. I'm sure it works but it's such a nice glove and to see him pound it with a weight kills me lol

  • wont putting water on the glove make it crack? somebody please tell me and if it wont how do i know wen the waters 150

  • @ITzJpiZzlE If you put a small amount of hot water on the glove for a short period of time, it will not damage the leather.

  • @wilsonballgloves can you guys make a video on how to flare a glove so that there's no crease on the thumb

  • @emn268 We’re going to work with Aso over Spring Training. Maybe he can show us this part of the break in then!

  • Please help I accidentally left my glove in the rain and now its very wet

and heavy, what should i do and will it remain as heavy when it dries?

  • @IAmMrFirefox Let it air dry. Do NOT put in microwave!! A microwave will ruin the leather.

  • @wilsonballgloves

We just got a new A2000 Superskin (HG12BSS) and it is about as stiff as solid wood. What are your thoughts on dealers that use the new glove steamers? Is this Ok to try?

  • @winopenstage Steamers are kind of like horseradish – it’s great, but in very small doses. We prefer not to use them, and do it the old fashioned way, like Aso’s break-in video. Officially, we don’t recommend it. However, if you must use a shortcut, we wouldn’t leave any glove in there more than 30 seconds, and we wouldn’t put any glove that sells for less than $160 in there, as many of those leathers are already softened with chemicals in the tanning process.

  • yo you are beating a animal man chill man : animal cruelty .....LOL

  • Will breaking in a glove with this method decrease the lifespan of the glove, prolong the lifespan, or will it stay the same?

  • @reaperrider1 This method will help break in your glove quickly, but won’t decrease the lifespan of the glove. Overall, it will be about the same unless you use too much oil or microwave your glove – then you will greatly decrease its lifespan.

  • @wilsonballgloves Thank you!

  • Why can't I add my glove to the cart and what is the color combo for tht glove

  • @MrMackey2mhhkay Not sure why you're having trouble with the custom site, we haven't heard that complaint so far. Have you tried using a different browser? The main colors for that glove (even though it is an A2K and only A2000s are available for customizing) is White fingers/web, Black thumb/wrist and Red lacing. Let us know how yours comes out!

  • These videos never get old :p

  • I am disappionted with the customize glove system on the site. I am a pitcher and I was looking forward to customize wilson glove. I wanted to custom made a wilson ball glove, with a modified trapeze web, put a pro sleeve and make it 12". don't get me wrong i love wilson glove, I just disappionted with the system.

  • HES THE MR. MIYAGI OF GLOVES!

  • i couldn't find this color combo on the custom glove site?

  • @badgerhockey99 We have different surprises in store for the Casper glove. Stay tuned…

  • @wilsonballgloves Haha im excited. cant wait till i have enough money to get my beautiful navy and white a2000 pro stiff!

  • The custom gloves are one the site now!! the are sweet!

  • can you mess up a glove by doing this, if so is it fixable?

  • @R0LFCOPT3R It can be a problem if there is too much water on the glove. Do not let it get inside the glove. Otherwise, no, pounding the glove will not damage it.

  • @egdumkcaz

Wearing a glove honestly does 2 thinks...protect the inside leather from sweat. And provide a little more comfort padding.

  • do you guys recommend putting 2 fingers in the pinkie?

  • @ballgirl4113 Sure! Some players like to use two fingers in the pinkie stall so it’s worth the try!

  • @ballgirl4113

I do it only because I have been doing it for YEARS(Prob 12)Just feels comfortable. All about feeling good in the field. OH and I am a middle infielder...NOT and outfielder.

  • Hey Wilson how would I break in a a2000 or a2k first base mitt?

  • @egdumkcaz One recommendation is when your shaping glove, close it from middle finger to thumb, as opposed to pinky to thumb.

  • @egdumkcaz Most players prefer not to wear a batting glove when fielding so they have more “feel” when receiving the ball. However, we recommend doing whatever makes you feel most comfortable

  • How can get a customized wilson glove?

  • @MrTerrero03 We will launch a custom Wilson glove website this December. You can choose the model you want and customize it with 16 color choices for all the parts of the glove. More info coming soon!

  • @wilsonballgloves Thanks.

  • @kody87061 its called a bat mallet tool thing

I just use a rubber mallet and a rag on the end of it and that works just as good

  • Whats that little bat mallet tool called?

  • I've never been a believer in water, and I've been extremely strict with how I've always taken care of my glove. I've had so many idiots tell me to soak it in water, which is completely ignorant because water is what deteriorates leather.. But the hot water makes complete sense. 150 F??

  • @xFaLLeN28 Water that is hot to the touch out of the tap is appropriate – approximately 150 F. It’s also important after you dunk your glove that you shake out the excess water. This will allow the hot water to begin the break-in process without deteriorating the leather. Additionally, make sure to avoid using heat to dry the glove – allow it to air dry.

  • @wilsonballgloves Question 2, can you order a model (A2K 1796 or A2K BW39) with extra long lacing like the DP15? Or does it come with just normal length only?

  • At my local sporting goods store where they sell Wilson gloves they asked me if I wanted to steam my glove then like whack it with a mallet sorta thing is it ok.

  • @garr102 Don’t let them steam it for more than 60 seconds. Pounding the glove with a mallet is ok as long as it’s done by a professional, like Aso does in this video. The absolute best way to break in your glove is to play catch with it and use hot water like Aso so that the glove forms to your hand and allows you to make a good pocket for the ball.

  • wilson, it would be incredibly cool if you could add on an custom glove option for Aso to break in the glove!

  • will you do a2k's or just a200's and how much would they cost$. thanks

  • Does water weigh your glove down?

  • @IAmMrFirefox Too much water will not only weigh your glove down, it could potentially cause long-term damage. Pouring a small amount of warm water on your glove to form it or break it in is fine, but be very careful to use it moderately.

  • @wilsonballgloves thanks!! i got my A1000 1786 ss today and this method works! it was broked in by the next day! thank you!

  • sorry after MANY emails: I am wrong and got it wrong sorry to all whom have told me so

  • Comment removed

  • can i buy a glove that

  • Comment removed

  • @Gloverelacing you sound like an idiot. I dd this and my glove is still in great shape. Nobody listen to this fuck because he has no idea what he is talking about. All this does Is help break in your glove faster

  • Comment removed

  • @Gloverelacing Of course, we understand your concern with making sure the glove holds up over time. We would not recommend a break-in process if it put your glove in jeopardy. Aso is molding and forming the glove but not damaging it. The leather is very strong and the laces will hold up for years. The fact is that overuse of oil or conditioner will do more damage to your glove than a few minutes of pounding.

  • Comment removed

  • @Gloverelacing Dude you just gotta chill, you seem really pissed for no reason, hahaha

  • Aso is freaking amazing... Aso knows baseball gloves

  • is there big leaguers that use a size of 11.25

  • @sillyswagg1000 yea alot of second baseman do

  • @imDooZeH ooo cuz im in high school and i love my glove and i wanna use it in collage next year

  • @sillyswagg1000 yea dude im using mine in high school

  • @imDooZeH is it a 11.25 glove

  • @sillyswagg1000 yup and Im playing third base I thought it would be hard using such a small glove at third but its not , I've improved my footwork alot so I think thats helped me . I hope I've helped :)

  • @imDooZeH yea u have thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @wilsonballgloves Can I pay for Aso to break in my glove?

  • How long did he take to break in Brandon Philip's glove?

  • wilson you should make wristbands/sweatbands with the a2000 and a2k logo!!!!!!

  • @badgerhockey99 Hmm… not a bad idea!

  • @wilsonballgloves id buy every color

  • Is there any way that I would be able to get Aso to break in my Wilson A2K when I get it?

  • Aso's technique is amazing!

  • When Wilson launches there customization site in December, will you be able to customize the A2K series also? And Ive been hearing that if you call Wilson they can personalize your glove for you and put your name on it etc. Is this true?

  • @piratebaseball10 Initially, only the A2000 models will be available. All customization will be run through the site. You will have the option on our site to put your name on the glove.

  • @wilsonballgloves When are going to be able to customize A2000s, and specifically what will you be able to do

  • 3:35 BOOOM

  • Is there anyway I get the A2K in Brandon Phillips' Colour way?

  • @lucasmacrae This December, we will launch a customization site that will allow you to choose from 16 colors for your new glove! Only the A2000 models will be available at first, but this Phillips colorway will be a specific color combination that you can order on any A2000 model!

  • what does the DB stand for in the glove model a2000 1786 db because im thinking about getting it.

  • Aso u rock thanks

  • check out how i break in my glove

  • How should i break in my new 2012 Wilson A2000 when i get it?

  • @RaglandBaseballTV Aso’s technique is pretty well tried and true. Give that a shot!

  • @wilsonballgloves hey wilson just wondering what color leather is on brandons glove...is it a white leather or more dark grey because i cant really tell from the bright sun. thanks!!

  • @MrThekikster We consider this color silver!

  • ok i would just like to hug mr aso right now, i just got my dp 15 a2k model in the mail did this except for the water part, im ready for a pass now its the way i want, aso is just...asome

  • I would cry if somebody did that to my new glove but thats just me!

  • He's a second baseman

  • hes an outfielder and uses an I web?

  • @TheJbr777 wtf brandon phillips isnt an outfielder he plays second base

  • @MrThekikster really? i thaught he played outfield

  • did he just break it in in a day? or over a longer period of time?

  • @egdumkcaz Wilson gloves are not pre-oiled, and if you use just about a cup of hot water and don’t allow it to get into the lining then you won’t have any problems.

  • am i aloud to use this method to break in1786 superskin. Am i aloud to put hot water on superskin?? thanks

  • @basicbaseball The pounding and stretching that Aso uses will work great on your glove. We don’t recommend water on the SS, though.

  • I would love to purchase a customized glove? Possible?

  • Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm going to have it on my hand a lot when I get it

  • Haha yeah I'm pretty sure I will have my glove on most of the day that I'm home lol

  • just got those batting gloves that Aso is wearing at 2:22 theyre sick and also got an a2000 1787 for shortstop, great glov

  • Ok thanks because I'm thinking about getting the a2000 1788-BSS or 1786-SS

  • @Silen7XSteal7h u will love it..cant take it off

  • Should I get the glove conditioner or the oil spray

  • @Silen7XSteal7h and yes superskin is rly good

  • @Silen7XSteal7h Either one is a great choice!

  • Ok thanks

  • By the way which glove do u have and is superskin good?

  • @Silen7XSteal7h ive got the a2000 EL3 SS 11 3/4

  • I'm not sure because I think it will be broken in more with this method but I'm not sure

  • haha yes I watched the video I know thanks.. But which one wud be better to do?

  • Never mind you probably watched the video I didn't know it was on this video lol

  • Or you can put water on the palm (150 degree water) and inside the glove where the palm is and play catch. According to aso on facebook

  • @13bp4 there is a video by Wilson where aso (Wilsons glove guru ) they call him that where he breaks in Brandon Phillips a2k and when I get my a2000 I'm going to break it in like that

  • is it better to just break your gloves in by playing catch? because i just bought a a2000 superskin and i dont want to take any chances by breaking it in this way...

  • I love wilson gloves. I used to be a Rawlings guy but then I used my friends a2k and fell in love with It instantly. I'm getting my first Wilson glove tomorrow. It's the black a 2000 with the grey I web. I love Wilson. They make the best gloves

  • How often should I oil/condition my glove so the leather doesn't dry up? And what do u think I should use, Wilson glove conditioner or Wilson glove oil spray? Or should I use the nokona glove conditioner? Anyone?

  • @Silen7XSteal7h Wilson oils and conditioners should be used on Wilson gloves. We don’t recommend mixing brands, and don’t use them too often. Once just to break in the glove should be plenty!

  • Quick question... how much time does Aso put into breaking in gloves this way? I just bought a new a2000 at the Asg Fanfest and I'm gonna try this method tonight. I want it to be perfect so i would like to know how long to actually let the glove form to my had after applying water.

  • @hkORBiT Depends how much you want broken in. If you want it stiff you may only need to perform his method once or twice. Let us know how it goes!

  • I try so many time but I am buying n a new one by Christmas.

  • that glove is soo nice

  • Isn't water bad for leather

  • @Jackson9797 As long as you don’t soak your glove it will be fine. If you follow Aso’s instructions then you and your glove will be alright. He uses this break-in method for many MLB players and they all swear by it!

  • is there any way to get the wood mallet like aso?

  • I WANT THIS GLOVE

  • I love Wilson gloves but I had a complaint. I recently had a purchase a Wilson A2K Aso 12" and need help to break it in. I got some advice to add oil when this brand said not to use it. so After 1 week, I loved the glove and I doubled pinky into the glove. Lets me tell you my thumb has a mark from the glove and returned it 2 months ago. I try to call and get a new one or have it broken in but no one answered the phone. I can't tell you my thumb hurts still but I love Wilson. What should I do be

  • @ProNYreview You should contact our consumer line at 1 (800) 333-8326.

  • close your eyes and listen at 2:46 and listen for a while.. sounds like a porno

  • So Wilson, what do major league players do with their old gloves after they replace them with a new one?

  • @HgOuTitar My friend is one of the bat boys for the dbacks. Kelly Johnson gave him his old glove then he gave it to me. Then it got stolen ha:/. It was the best glove i've ever had. So i guess they give them away??

  • So I guess breaking in a BRAND NEW Wilson A2K doesn't take 4-6 months like people be sayin because this guy broke it in with an hour. Same thing with Rawlings Pro perferreds and Nokona Bloodlines. People are so fuckin full of shit when it comes to breakin in a glove
