@Rtrent97 No the mustang would have lost. I have a 2005 redline and before any mods i was faster than a mustang any day... Now corvettes have trouble keeping up
@ruben172 an unmodded redline cannot beat a GT500, or a GT with equal drivers, it might be matched with the 05-09 GT's but the GT500 is well over a second faster 0-60. redlines are fast but they wont do 4.5 seconds stock, the mustang in this video either wasnt a GT500 or the redline was modded, unless the mustang had a horrible driver, which for the cars sake i hope isnt the case
@racingjunkey18 thats what i was guessing, my friend has a 2.2 ion and was going to turbo it but the winters here suck so he's selling it for a turbo truck. those supercharged 2 liters are ballsy little engines though, i'm glad GM and Ford are coming out with nice 4 and 6 cylinder cars finally
@willpw314 Yeah you're right but thats in a perfect situation. Seems like the driver of the redline knew what he was doing though cuz he hooked up really good. But you are right, a stock ion won't beat a gt500 but the gt's and v-6 mustangs don't do too well.

simple case of bad driver vs. good. I have a SC Cobalt and it was pretty easy to launch. now I gotta GT its a little more tricky but still no problem. =)... but the GT500 driver must be a noob lol
Same here. My Vette launches nice! But FWD is always a challenge due to wheel spin. I put some B-Woody traction bars and went with 225's instead of stock 215's. Made a big difference but still need to restrain the throttle off the line!

realy i have no problem launching my vette but i cant launch my IRL for shit i just find it harder to launch an FF car
