  • THIS IS THE BEST THING.

  • 2:55

  • 7:05

  • Ben Franklin as a girl made me a little wary, but she did a good job, well scripted!

  • this is so funny sped up

  • so very awesome!

  • Mrs Jefferson is so...attractive, to say the least. And her voice. This whole thing is spectacular.

  • So, most of the stuff they say is in the Constitution, not the Declaration of Independence.... but this is so awesome that I don't care.

  • You Tube doesn't seem to be working. It is only showing how may times I have watched this video

  • We watched this in my US History class.

  • @hayhay509 My US History teacher says "It's too inappropriate for school." We try twice a week to get her to let us watch it.

  • @PhonyMustache Party Pooper.

  • @PhonyMustache ...how? Kida swear all the time, and if it's thomas jefferson cheating, that's just history.

  • @milkyway531 I knoww!! We won't stop trying to persuade her, though.

  • i have watched this about 55 times. i think i have a problem. its just so funny when this is what you are leaning in soical studies.

  • Thomas Jefferson has never been so attractive.

  • Is interesting. Needs more view.

  • YOU GUYS SHOULD HAVE MORE VIEWS!!!

  • I watch this with unhealthy frequency...I looove this musical!

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • martha reminds me of rachel from glee

  • 4:25 Awesome!!!

  • I have this memorized. All my friends have it memorized because i listen to it and sing it so much. I love this. <3

  • Hot Tamales!

  • I've been listening to this for five days straight. <3

  • I showed this to my APUSH teacher. he thinks it's brilliant.

  • Oh damn, looks like TJ's the only Monticell-ho now ;P.

  • I have been listening to/watching this all day long. Definitely my favorite musical under twenty minutes long.

  • I have all the words memorized, this is the song I sing while walking around at school, no one knows what I am talking about... But I don't care~~~

  • @happyNiNjA57 Damn you I've been doing this seen I read this now everyone thinks I'm crazy-er

  • Every time I see this I crack up at the fact that James Madison's nickname is just "Jim" haha

  • I like my sandwich sans the crust!

    Hot Tamales!!!

    I like Ben Franklin....

  • Benjamin Franklin is such a troll.

  • Georgy wasn't at the Second Continental Congress... well neither were half the other characters :D

  • @MusicMeg2012

    That's why it's a Declaration of Consitution!

  • @RunJumpSkipSing exactly :)

  • using the theme from requiem for a dream by kronos for the impromptu short film was pretty awesome.

  • i cant stop waching this! <3

  • APUSH... good times, good times

  • I just got the whole "Declaration of Constitution" thing. Oopsy.

  • Ha.. I used this to study for APUSH :) It actually helps quite a lot

  • "...I suggest we have a duel."

    This is hilarious.

  • FOUNDING FUCKER!

  • was Jefferson actually an ass by trying to juggle 2 girls? (I'm Canadien)

  • @tributicon no idea and I'm American, we're not great on the whole "we should teach out kids the histor of our country" thing. Did you know we had president named Taft. I just learned that today

-Emily a 15 year old American.:)

  • @TheGummyBearOverLord wow. just wow. I'm 14 (doing Gr 10 Canadien history) and we learnned the begging of canada (multiple times, ugg I'm sick of it...)

what about the whole "war of 1812"? did they teach ya that?

  • Comment removed

  • @MoonFIame i am not an idiot! it's not my fault if i wasn't taught well by the american school system. I love learning and try learn as much as i possibly cxan. i would aprcxiate if you respecxted me. DFTBA

  • @tributicon haha, no he wasn't. later in his career there was rumor that he had fathered the children of sally hemings, (the black girl, slave at monticello) but his wife had already been dead for twenty years. needless to say, this doesn't accurately portray the relationship between jefferson and his wife, either, as jefferson was devastated when she died. and reading your other comment, i did learn about the war of 1812 in eighth grade. canada was mentioned several times XD

  • @xCherrymistx Cool.was she "so unstable"? or agian was that inacurate?

  • @tributicon oops, sorry, i never got around to replying! no, she wasn't ever unstable, at least not mentally or anything like that, but her health was for a lot of her and jefferson's marriage

  • @tributicon He did have sex with his slave, so yeah.

  • Common misconception. James Madison was the most important figure of the revolutionary time period. Jefferson copy and pasted a lot and then got revised hardcore. But he IS still important. It's just good to have the facts straight.

  • I would say this is the best thing ever, but I've seen your other musicals and it's too hard to choose.

I love the fact that there are so many little historical details jumbled in with the glaring inaccuracies. xD

Now I'll always remember that Alexander Hamilton was killed by Aaron "Burrrrrrrrrrr".

Thank you for giving me a legitimate reason for reading my US History textbook!

  • THUMB UP IF U CAME HERE CUSE VLOG BROTHERS

  • @tati13221 I would have if you'd spelled 'because' correctly or bothered to spell out the word 'you'. Are you sure you are a nerdfighter?

  • @lumensapace Nerdfighters are made of awesome, not judgements... I misspell things all the time :P

  • i can sing this whole songs i have watched it like a million times. and it is epic every time. never gets old

  • y'know, I had no idea that Alexander Hamilton was a pokemon trainer...

  • Hahah at 7:28 watch George Washington and James Madison

  • I thought Hamilton died in a duel? Why is he the trigger man then?

  • Did any one else catch the car at 2:11 ish?

  • Ironically, "Franklin" is the most beautiful girl on the cast...

  • I must say this is probably the best play/musical i have ever seen.

  • I love how historically inaccurate this is. :D

  • OOHHH hot tomales!

  • Tom's "mistress" is very pretty

  • I love this, it is hilarious! XD Except I think the "dancing" scenes need some work

  • This musical already exists. It's called "1776."

  • This is amazing.

  • epic

  • @bluerakuchan me too!

  • "OH! Hot Tamales!" I died.

  • Officially the most legit history lesson ever.

I passed my quiz because of this musical.

  • Love that guy's voice at 7:57!

  • I love how James Madison is the only guy who doesn't brag and thus doesn't get a cool nickname.

  • he's the master debater hahahahah

  • SO GOOD.

  • "Less than 3, John".... Classic

  • Best internet video I have seen.

  • Come on guys, obviously this was not meant to be 100% historically accurate. Just have fun with it ^^

  • @morningstar107 Yeah. HAHA. I mean they had a SLUMBER PARTY. Historical accuacy was NOT part of the plan.

  • fail sos but fail there wer cars in it hahaha other than that loved it :)

  • Mrs. Jefferson looks just like Natalie Portman.

  • this. is. AWESOME!!

  • I realize that this is relatively tangent, but Mrs. Jefferson looks a bit like Emma Watson...so I keep picturing Hermione calling out Thomas Jefferson, haha.

  • THIS IS SO AWESOME!

  • 25 people need a fucking vacation!

  • Wait, one question. Why do they keep talking about the Declaration slash Constitution or Declaration of Constitution? They're two entirely different documents.

  • This is amazing! I'd love to see it done full-length!

  • OH SHIT! IT’S THE MONTICELL-HOES!

  • i lov this so much i am addicted to this! <3 <3 and Thomas is hot

  • So last year I went to see 1776, the musical, (mainly b/c it was free) and I must say, this is better.

  • Sally Hemmnings i'm so happy you included thomas's slave girl friend

  • This explains why the Articles of Confederation bombed! XD

(BTW, the Constitution was writen in 1787. It was the Articles of Confederation that was written in "1776-ish")

  • XDDDDDD ooo Hot Tamales XDD GREAT ben great xD

  • "I started the shit, now it's too late to quit"... XDDD

  • I don't think Thomas Jefferson used the term "vom" when he was referring to upchucking. I enjoyed this.

  • hmm I think this may be the first and only time I can honestly call John Adams attractive

  • @Faithch95 yeah... hence "I ain't gonna brag bout my contribution/ but I think its time we got down to this constitution"

Jefferson was the main author of the Declaration of Independence

  • @rarefiednight yes! so glad you caught that haha! thanks!

  • @TheOnlineMusical DO YOU USE THE SAME PEOPLE A LOT

  • Pure genius. Two thumbs up.

  • FANTASTIC! Wow. I'm so impressed right now. It just shows that you don't need huge budgets if you've got huge talent. :)

  • Ooooh Hot Tamales xD

  • BRILLIANT.

  • BAWSTON!

  • "Am I?" Yes. "Weird." BEST LINE!

  • This was really good, but I was always taught that James Madison was the most instrumental in writing the Constitution-- "James Maddy the Constitution Daddy"

  • @Faithch95 Indeed he was! I was also taught, though, that he was really humble and quiet, thus explaining the skip over him.

  • Comment removed

  • um...why the hell is George Washington part of writing the Declaration of Indepence?

  • @ExplodingSammich George Washington was part of the writing, just not a huge role, and then when they had to decide who would lead the army they decided on him.

  • @PhoebeDee95 Then where's Robert Sherman? There are five guys that are known for writing the DoI: Jefferson, Franklin, Sherman, Livingston, and Adams.

  • @ExplodingSammich Oh, I know that, he probably wasn't included because he wasn't as well known. I just noted that because your previous comment made it sound like George Washington wasn't there at all.

  • Is it true that Jefferson had a secret lover like this musical suggests? I'm not American so I don't know.

  • @PSspecialist Yeah, her name was Sally something. Of course, there's no hard evidence and his wife denied it. So, I guess we'll never really know for sure.

    ...

A lot of our founding fathers were man-whores in that way, though. O.o

  • @BlitzBlu95 lol. I see

  • I can't believe how many times I've watched this ..

    And it's still awesome :D

  • Right after Hamilton mentions a duel they all go "burr", as in Aaron Burr. God this was nerdtastic!

  • Weird, why is it only showing my views?

  • The only problem with this is that it takes so long to load.

  • I've had this stuck in my head at least 4 times a day ever since I first watched it...excellent job!! :D

  • I love all the innuendos, and that one electric guitar moment in "Queen of Monticello" always gives me chills. Awesome job guys!

  • i love this!!!

  • BAWSTON!

  • Oh, im so glad that i discover this, thanks vlogbrothers

  • It's videos like these that make you want to have a second like button.

  • This is all I ever wanted from the internet. Thank you so very, very much.

  • So glad I clicked on that link from vlogbrothers

  • Ok, ever since this was in the vlogbrothers video, I either watch/think about this video like five days. It's starting to get unhealthy. But it's so fantastic! Great music, great acting, really original... It's just awesome!

  • that was amazingly well put together... great job!

  • This is amazing!!!

  • There has to be something very wrong with me. I somehow find ''Hard out here for a petriot'' the most sexy song I've heard in a while. -_-''

  • the awkward moment when you see a car go past in the background
