I feel like Fantasia embodied everything that was in that role, and that is why her performance was not only so convincing, but also so gripping. In lieu of that, Jennifer took this piece, moved it away from the show it came from, changed the lyrics, and made it her own. It was touching to see Oprah reach for a friend so that she could hold herself together. Both were amazing, emotional performances. You just can't compare the two; they're both so breathtaking in their own right.

It has nothing to do with not being real. It has to do with being classy. Beyonce would never do a show like that ever...unless she was a struggling entertainer. When you are on that type of level you don't have to do "reality" shows because you are above that. You only do them if you are struggling and you need the money that they produce. @smartblackwoman I have to agree. There's no denying Jennifer is a great singer, but this song isn't just about hitting the notes. It's about 'living' the lyrics for 4 and a half minutes, and when I see Fantasia perform it, I get chills every time.
Absolutely stunning. Brought tears to my eyes and I had never heard the song before nor am I a huge fan. However, I was brought to tears by her performance. I had never actually applauded for a performance sitting by myself in front of a computer before. That was a first.

Y'all can sit and down Jennifer and/or Fantasia all you want, you'll NEVER diminish their talent OR their friendship! They are both talented young women. Jennifer killed this performance and most likely Fantasia gave Jennifer her props.

@uniquemonicab I agree, if you can't sing live without autotune. You can be an entertainer but not a singer. Keyshia has improved but cannot sing in any way shape or form as good as Jennifer or Fantasia. Can Keyshia sing this song...I doubt it.

Why the hell would they have that guy interupt the mood and emotion of the moment to introduce a choir like that????For God's sakes wait until the end of the song. How distracting, rude and inconsiderate of the performer, the listener and what music can do when delivered properly. And this was a monumental performance that deserved better.

I'm a fan of JHud, but I'm a bigger fan of Tasia. No one puts emotion in a song like Fantasia does. JHud didn't do it for me. It was great, but not on Tasia's level. You know that ugly face you get when you can feel the song. I didn't get that. When I heard Tasia sing, I just teared up. Sorry JHud, but you can't do this song like Tasia! ILY Fantasia :)

All the Fantasia Fans need to get over themselves. Jennifer did an amazing job with the song. It is NOT Fantasia's song, two other women sung the song before Fantasia. I like Fantasia version of the song too. Fantasia will never be on the same level as Jennifer because of her OWN doing, had she not been wasting her time with a married but separate man she might have been at the Kenndey center instead of Jennifer. She has a ghetto mentality and that will continue to be her undoing

I hope i'm wrong too, but between that ghetto trashy reality show, her family, and now this married man and abortion fiasco, I don't see her recovering at least not mainstream...you know her urban audience might look pass all that, but as far as mainstream goes, her career is pretty much over. I wouldn't be surprised if she is eventually dropped from J records, but on the other hand Jennifer is going to continue to soar, i'm so proud of her.

Would you rather have a show of her acting like a uppity woman when she's not? I love Fantasia because she shows she is only human and that you can still be real and be a celebrity. I don't admire what she's done but who she is. JHud could be having as many problems. She is probably just not real enough to show them

It has nothing to do with not being real. It has to do with being classy. Beyonce would never do a show like that ever...unless she was a struggling entertainer. When you are on that type of level you don't have to do "reality" shows because you are above that. You only do them if you are struggling and you need the money that they produce. It's almost as bad as flava flavs reality shows. It doesn't show her, a black woman in a positive light, especially her being a celebrity

@smartblackwoman I have to agree. There's no denying Jennifer is a great singer, but this song isn't just about hitting the notes. It's about 'living' the lyrics for 4 and a half minutes, and when I see Fantasia perform it, I get chills every time.

Absolutely stunning. Brought tears to my eyes and I had never heard the song before nor am I a huge fan. However, I was brought to tears by her performance. I had never actually applauded for a performance sitting by myself in front of a computer before. That was a first.
