  • At 4:05 they mention the shit they said didn't make sense and make that point lyrics mean shit today

  • What's crazy is that... the third verse sounded dope but if you were LISTENING you would see how incoherent it was,.. "fly motorola diploma style ice niggas" lmaooo

I was listening to this song at work and it just hit me, bcus I rewinded that verse twice trying to understand it!!

  • that aluminum shoelaces line always makes me lol

  • This song is awesome. I wonder what the song at the end is.

  • Somebody can tell me what's the sample in the beginning please. that's the song from NBA STREET Vol.2, but i don't know the name of the song. that mixtape is one of best mixtape hip hop!!

  • @MrCandry the sample come from Pete Rock and CL Smooth's song They Reminisce Over You (or T.R.O.Y)

  • @jcgcarolina1984 Lil B fucked your bitch and stole your snack pack

  • I'm friends with 9th Wonder on Facebook.. I asked him what happened with Lil Brother, and he never responded LOL

  • @outlaw87100 they're cool again! at least w/phonte. they went on an east coast tour & it was GREAT. although big pooh was not mentioned once lol

  • Classic Joint! Little brother and 9th Wonder! Real Life Artist

  • lb is definitely on point, this is music that is lyrical and applicable to things that everyone does in real life. sometimes it pertains to us in our careers. like we have to front and fake to make a buck. we get home and gripe to our families and loved ones like damn you cant believe what i had to do today at work lol, its hard to be authentic when its not something you enjoy. lol good thing they are enjoying what they are doing ha cause niggas aint listenin ha

  • yo this here is 1 of the coldest tracks ever, sometimes im on some clean ish for the kids, but this is a true banger , Lb ain't slept on ova here

  • im Loving That Pete Rock T.R.O.Y. in The Background ive always Loved That Beat.

  • Wow. Classic underground hip hop

  • this beat is so fuckin hard !!!!!

  • they hear some good shit, but don't stop to savor it.

I swear, this is now my official response to the question, 'What makes me angry'.

  • 2 people don't listen!

  • I feel yah on the whole 9th thing. don't really know about what he did with wale. It's good but sometimesi dont like where wales coming from. To go from Little brother to popular rappers is werid but we all gotta make a living i guess. I know anybody thats heard 9th on some subs knows it will knock the roof off. Also threat was the hardest beat on the black album. R.I.P. to one of the greatest trio's to grace the world! And this is my favorite track on the listening, Classic! lol

  • Check my channel for a great interview with 9th - inspirational

We sit down to hear 9th wonder speak about teaching life at Duke & collaborating with Lil B

Personally I look up to 9th wonder a lot, not just as a musician but how he conducts himself, his values and how grounded he is despite his popularity and fame.

Uploaded to help spread the word about great musicians and more importantly genuinely good people in the world like this - still giving a whole lot back despite the fame

  • its a damn shame that music like this (1) doesnt get the recognition it deserves (2) as a result we less of it

But Dammn is it a blessing to the world of music that 9th created beats like this and phonte & pooh flowed so nicely on every verse/ nah ev'ry track!

Thank you LB - hip hop of the realest and purest

  • Can never get sick of this song. I listen to it religiously. 9th arguably made one of the dopest beats ever. Compliment that with Phonte and Pooh's synchronized flow....no words can quite explain how amazing this song is.

  • been readin how Little Brother come up wiht their rhymes styles, they talk all about it in the book HOW -TO -RAP, thats a great read they also interviewed Dilated, J5, Pharoahe, PE, Tribe, all the dopest groups and MCs for it, great book

  • @clarencejones07 Sounds like a good book, :o .. Thanks for sharing man, God bless..

  • if you listen close to the beat you can here pete rock and cl smooth they reminisce over you. watch just listen close to the beat.

  • @VinylCollect0r yes and it breaks me down everytime

  • @ajlulover

Same here. But that entire preluding verse is hilarious.

"Judy Jetson up in Elroy's thought he was home

With the Gold Bond Armor-All fatigues on

  • "we got a better chance of blowing up in switzerland..."

    sad, but true...

  • these dudes make me think of early 90s late 80s hip hop. Thats a nice sound

  • @christopher5731 yeah 9th wonder does that...he's definitely my favorite producer check out everything else he does...Spectac, MURS, Jean Grae, a lot of others, he did a remix album to God's Son by NaS it's pretty nice

  • @dfbomb89 thats called samples

  • @jmg24bad yea iknow i wuz juz saying.....

  • anybody know the name of the song at the end?(the part with the radio)

  • @hunter2600 well it was sampled in this pretty damn hot rap song by Phene called the spokesman. its still the same beat but with a little hip hop twist to it.

  • @tahthedon

thanks, but I'm wondering if the beat at the end of this song is an original song or a sample of something. Phene sampled the end of this song, I want to know what Little Brother and 9th sampled the end from.

  • what did he say about switzerland? ^^

  • @swissguy848

he says that he would have a better chance being successful there

  • song is soo right.....wack ass fuckers played on the radio but REAL music is hissen from us...its a conspiracy i tell you

  • 1 of tha best songs ever

  • ..even love to the ones just keepin' it real.

  • Just discovered this song..I'm really starting to enjoy these guy's music. It feels good to have found another real hip hop soul breathing in the air, other than always inhaling the same, continuous, and fake stench of today's so called "hip hop stars." Real love to Little Brothers and all underground souls. <3

  • i've been listening to these guys for a long time.. im friends with 9th wonder on facebook, and when i asked him abt lil brother he got all quiet like i pushed a red button i was like "whoops"

  • wow this guy sound like masta ace

  • D.....O.......P......E!

  • you have to pay attention to the first two verses to understand the last one...

  • The beat at the end of this joint is one of those special "easter eggs"of hiphop...I ONLY WISH there was a track with that beat...

  • The Listening is the most slept on album of all time.

  • this joint is soooo special to me, after a long day.

  • I luv these dudes. They saved the music for me

  • @avirex221 same here man

  • you can't fuck with LB! this vid should have 600million views daily.

  • Ya'll can talk about how hip hop is dyin and like this shit as much as you want, but how many of ya'll actually bought the album and supported these dudes?

  • @SmileBigBaby i have all little brothers albums

  • @SmileBigBaby I bought this and the minstrel show 5 times each. I'm only one person though. I am happy to say that I buy every CD I own and if I download, I download from iTunes.

  • @SmileBigBaby realest comment on this video.. and I can't even say I bought it. It's sad actually man.. and I'm a rapper, so I should understand the most. That's why they broke up, the scary reality of the game.. is that you can be the coldest to do it, and if the promotion isn't good enough, or it doesn't catch on quick enough.. it'll go unnoticed. I'm gonna cop every album this week, no lie.

  • Hip Hop needs Little Brother

  • @swervon617 Agreed, I really thought they would save the genre :/

  • Niggas Aint Listening! They wanna hear about shoes, money, drugs, anything that equates to a life with no substance. Thank GOD for people like Phonte and Pooh that recognize this travesty and are willing to broadcast it with no cares of how YOU might react!

  • 9th is fuckin ill, he laces this whole album up so incredibly n phonte is nice as hell!

  • best song ever..!

  • yoo.. whats that song playing at the end from 5:17-6:10 ?

  • Narada Michael Walden - Alone Without You

  • Aiight. Good lookin out. >=3

  • exactly how i feel real shit

  • man this beat bring me back to the 90s

  • 90's??? this from 2002

  • Yeah Ninth produced the whole album

  • Did 9th wonder produce this whole album?

  • thats a pretty stupid question.. sorry.. lol.. 9th WAS(he left) the producer of the group

  • yes sir

  • a LISTEN fuck BET and MTV now like everything that starts out, they have good inetentions but now they're just out for the money little brother is one of the last good hip hop groups out there and now 9th wonder sold out turn off your radio and press your face against the dirt and listen to the underground

  • 9th aint no sellout hes always makin bangers and he taught khrysis everything he knows and hes legit too so what you sayin

  • I disagree with everything you said here 1st and foremost 9th is a PRODUCER PERIOD

  • wow Producers u saying 9th should have just worked at K mart and not sell beats haha

  • @capricorn032 wtf? 9th still doin the same of shit...soul samples are still evident in his recent tracks..but obviously he'll never do anything like the beats he did with little brother...tho that erykah badu track was dope as fuck

  • @jamesskaterwhite What are you talking about? 9th never sold out. What went on between 9th and Phonte is something we may never know. Yeah, Phonte told us how the spilt happened, but he never explicitly stated why the split happened. Either way, though I'm unhappy with the LB split, there is no way that 9th has sold out. He is doing so much for North Carolina Hip-Hop & trying to promote the talent that we have here.

  • @MerchantOfDeath223 not just north carolina...but for the whole world...

  • @graffslik yeah, mos def. he knows where his heart is and that's with hip-hop, local or international. you're right.

  • @MerchantOfDeath223 9th sold out? hell no, he doesn't even work with cats in the industry, what are people talking about?

  • @jamesskaterwhite how did 9th sell out?

  • @jamesskaterwhite I feel your pain brother but people like lil brother and 9th wonder been doing this for a minute. Loving hiphop is one thing but niggas making money off what they do is another. I'm glad they're getting paid for what they do. That is the reason why rappers are in the game period. Whether seeking underground or mainstream attention......

  • @jamesskaterwhite how did 9th wonder sell out? Becuz he's starting to make money now? Because mainstream artists are now paying attention to him? So let me understand, ur mad becuz underground artists don't get any publicity, but ur mad that 9th wonder (my alltime favorite producer) is now starting to get recognition? please explain

  • "wonder why they bootleg, like it's prohibition"

    that's a hot line

  • dammm 9th wonder is mos def legit....

    word upp

  • real Hip-Hop!!!!!

  • BET could Laffy Taffy all day, But cant play Little Brother shit??

  • thats wackkk !

  • it's a line from EMC.

  • and he spoke da truth !!

  • 9th with the quality beats again

  • fuckin real hip hop....you dont hear much shit like this anymore....and probably never will

  • This song is tight as hell...9th slayed it.

  • 9th Wonder is the SHIZ!

  • If u don't agree, please check your feeling for the reel ish
