I have to agree that choice theory does not work. One thing that most people do not realize is that choice theory had a big effect on the evangelical anti-psychiatric movement, particularly Jay Adams, where the therapy is often used to morally control people whose only break from "reality" is being agnostic, or obsessive compulsive, or gay.
I like REBT theory, but this I felt was very good at getting the parent to understand the influence that their approach is having from the 'bigger picture view', ie, Is what your doing helping the child?
choice theory is bullshit.. h only deals with things from one pont of view.. he says its only you can control your behaviour, but in his "theory" book he contradicts his ideas.. its popular stupid psychology, the worst thing is that i have to write essay on choice theory :) :) :) i apriciate your effort and sorry for my english.

just the opposite- he's anit-establishment, anti-drug, against diagnosis such as "bipolar' .Good reenactment demonstrates the theory.

I guess Freud was so much more popular...especially after advocating cocaine as the new non-addictive treatment for morphine habituation in 1885.
I have used these ideas for the last twelve years in my work and seen it's efficacy for myself.
Well done for getting Glasser on here ; agree about the music though...unnecessary

I wish there was no sound background, it is distracting and takes away from Dr. Glasser's ideas.
