I like Prototype much more than Infamous, however I still think that this review is way too harsh on this game. Sure there are some repetetive or annoying missions but most of them are still fun and the morality system works and it even affects gameplay a bit. Infamous deserves 8.5 in my opinion.

This was a very mediocre review, so i'm kind of dissapointed at Jim, being the fact that he does a lot of great reviews and videos, where the most frequent of them are hilarious and well made. I played the hell out of this game. Loved it. But yes. He sticks to things, he gets shot a lot, the moral choice was too obvious. Even with all that, it was still a good game. Loved the ending. As for the girlfriend, they did designer that way, some men like meatty, funny looking girls. What can you? Keep a copy of playboy by the coffee table as you play through.

no man you don't get it... Prototype is wayy more varied than infamous. There are missions where you have to destroy infected hives, or military bases, and for doing that you can choose many paths you can stealth consume the commander and get an artillery strike on the base or you can skyjack an helicopter and then blasting at the base with it. Or also you can doing it old fashion by blasting away devastator moves and blow the whole place apart. And this is just a mission and there are plenty.

This is the first bad review of this game I've seen. I didn't feel that the game was repetitive except for the dark water and bus missions. I never stuck to just spamming the regular lightning attack either and later in the game you need to use something else or you will die. I think I'm going to check out Prototype though from the positive response to it.

Reviewer, did you play this game on medium and then stop? On Hard you can't get away with just spamming the regular lightning shot and expect to live, you have to vary it up and actually have some strategy.

This is a must own for any PS3 owner!

@lansop To be fair, you can make the "varied gameplay" argument about most games of today. I have to agree with Jim Sterling in that it does feel very sluggish, and it doesn't pull off being a game with superpowers particularly well because of the clunky limitations. That being said, I don't think inFamous is a bad game at all, but I personally think it's a mediocre one -- definitely worth checking out, and a good addition to the PS3's exclusive library, but not an essential, in my opinion.

Eh, I disagree with the review but its just one persons opinion.

I enjoyed the game fine, played through it twice and still play the game. The moral choices yeah they are silly, but I still enjoy the differences between Good and Evil play.

With the whole Prototype vs Infamous discussions and points, I rented Prototype I found it enjoyable but wizzed through it I think on hard mode in only 6 hours or so...

I much prefer Red Faction to Prototype really though

I played through Prototype on normal, then I played on Hard to see if it posed more of a challenge. I'm not a liar, Prototype was only a 6 hours on Hard, and took me around there on normal to even go through.

Prototype is fun, but it isn't worth the 70 dollar tag it is up here in Canada. I was glad I rented it. 70 dollars for a 6 hour game on hard not worth it.

I was glad with purchasing both Red Faction and inFamous. Both games have been keeping me busy for over 20 hours or so.

Well i have played threw the game and it is great. Never experienced any glitches. The ocasional pop in but thats expected of a sandbox game. The gameplay never gets tiresome unlike Gta4 for example.
