Hey Zyu2, it would be awsome that if MMPR comes to DVD one of the special features is to see all the monster battles from Season 2 using the Zyu2 footage completily uncut, now that would be awsome!
I would really lik,e to see the origional zyurangers2 footage of this fight. Saban should have kept the Origional Megazord until thery needed to use the Dairangers footage and then had the transition to thne Thunderzords
I have to wonder if they tried to finish the monster with the Power Sword. I mean, Dragonzord didn't even show up until the end of the fight to form Ultrazord.
That would've been cool. I've only seen two other instances where a lower finisher was tried and failed. First, the Megazord finisher was used on the Frankenstein Monster, he stood there and let it bounce off harmlessly, second time they tried the Dragonzord Battle Mode finsher on the Samurai Fan Man (although it did loose Kimberly's prison). I like when they try a lower finisher first for some reason, it seems to show that they obeyed Zordon's rule to not escalate a battle unless forced to.
I disagree with both cases. With Frankenstein, all the Megazord did was attack with the sword, it did not do the entire finisher sequence (charging, eyes glowing and flashing). With Samurai, they were only going for freeing the Pink Ranger, they kinda knew they wouldn't defeat the monster with the DBM but since it was the strongest weapon they had at the time, they had no choice but to use it.
The only time a finisher really failed, was with Hatchasaurus.
Hmmmm.....I thought I remembered after the initial normal strike a finisher attempt on the Frankenstein monster being used before being edited out later on, but I might be wrong. Good point though with Samurai and DBM, even though it did little against the monster, it did free Kimberly. I actually forgot about the Hatchasaurus. Two finishers actually failed now that I remember. I wonder if Ultrazord would've taken out both Hatchasaurus and Cardiatron in one fell swoop, though (probably not).
If not, that still makes two Season One monsters where a lower finisher didn't work. Personally, I'd still have liked to have seen with most advanced zord configuration episodes a failed attempt with a lower finisher. If the Power Sword finisher is infact in the ZyuRanger footage, then that's three finishers used on Dora Franke (Power Sword, Power Staff, and Z-Sphere). That Z-Sphere was awesome, I'd have liked to have seen more of it. Looked even better than the Ultrazord finisher.
@MVillani1985 in the japense version,lokar breathed icy breath on frankenstein, and frankeinstein turned into mutatis, thats why both mutatis and frankeinstein were both seen carrying a ball and chain and black metal bolts,also in japenese version the dragon staff didnt kill frankenstein instead megadragonzord was used
@MrHellohel You're mostly right, but he was ZombieFranke by then, turned into zombie form by using the power staff energy. Then Lokar turned him into SatanFranke.

@MVillani1985 the zord configurations were very funny to watch in the samurai fan man episode,its as if they took time out of the fight scene to show of different finishers and sublimely do a hidden promo for the toys which were released at the time
@MrHellohel Originally it wasn't Goldar, but Bandora's (Rita's) son that piloted Cyclopsis, but since he was not in Power Rangers, Saban just decided to put Goldar in Cyclopsis instead.
@churlyryan is there any japenese footage of dragonzord and ultrazord fighing robogoat and forming ultrazord.thunder saber doesnt look believeable, the angle of attack is compltely wrong especially since the finisher would lead you think that robogoat was waiting to be slashed with thundersaber as opposed to a more belieable ultrazord blast to the chest armour like the very one used for soccailo and rhinoblaster and two headed parrot

Saban needed to start Season 2 early, alongside the new Zords so they hacked the footage up. You can tell by the explosions Pirantishead, Primator, Robogoat & Turbanshell were all supposed to be destroyed by Ultrazord. All of Zedds other monsters were killed by Megazord.

I'll just wager the electric attack used from 0:27-0:32 only happened once and it was repeated to make the battle go as long as it can with just the Thunder Megazord battling.
