I was on the game with my family, and won the grand prize, 200$ cash and 50$ each from the Spiegel Catalogue. I bought a motorific car set!!! A is there any way to find the tapes to all of the shows? Sure would love to have a copy!! Thanks we were the Bauer's
this show isn't half bad.....it reminds me of a show my little sister and I used to watch on Fox Family back in the 90s called "I Can't Believe You Said That!"
that show's a whole lot funnier than this is though, lol
@goldenchick85 I agree with you! This isn't really bad at all! Bob Barker just made it greater! I think it probably would've been terrible, if somebody other than Bob hosted it.
This show is like "The Newlywed Game" meets "Art Linkletter's Kids Say the Darndest Things". You can obviously see the Newlywed Game similarities. What I find interesting is the fact that Eventually Barris would make three shows with the same kind of format (Family Game, Newlywed Game, and Three's a Crowd).
I know that, I guess I didn't put the shows in the correct order before....but I do realize that Newlywed Game debuted in July of 1966 and this was 1967.
Bob was also hosting the syndicated edition of "TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES" at the time this aired (and that's probably why Chuck Barris hired him to front this game)...
This is the single greatest internet find/video ever. Bob Barker+1967 black and white tv+ Ads+ families asking family members mainly children questions about their insecurities and intimate secrets with the charm of said bob barker with his hair color +just rare vintage feeling+awesomeness=quite simply greatness.
Canada's "Just Like Mom" was similar to this, but with a cooking segment in which kids would make something inedible from a selection of random ingredients, and their mothers would have to guess which one was made by their kid.
The Price just wasn't Right on this show. Barris had to have been kicking and screaming in later years knowing that Goodson had Bob hosting something he wouldn't give up to go back to this stuff.
With kids as obnoxious and self centered as they are today (thank you Sesame Street)....this show would probably be very successful today.

in 1986 there was going to be a revival of this show for CBS with future Dating Game Host Jeff MacGregor as host

This IS awful but exactly as bad as one would expect from a Chuck Barris production hosted by the self-righteous bore Bob Barker.

No wonder this piece of crap bombed. Even for the time, it was abysmally lame.

A cross between The Newlywed Game and Art Linkletter's Kids Say The Darnedest Things. A little flat. Definitely no questions related to Whoopee.

No mistaking the Barris style. I wonder if it's mentioned in "Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind".

This is surreal! This clip makes me wonder imagine if Bob Barker were the host of The Newlywed Game. Awesome clip indeed-Cheers! :)

Bob Barker worked for Chuck Barris? Unreal.
Although Chuck Barris had bombs after The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game, it was the Gong Show that proved to be a boffo hit.
Jaybird1103 2 years ago
Oh, I forgot, The New Treasure Hunt in 1973, which was three years before the Gong Show.

Who had a VCR in 1967? I know my grandfather did, and he would never record this junk.

I believe this show came out in 1967, so yes The Newlywed Game was on at that time.
