I love this. It's one of my favorite vst's. It really does sound like my old ARP avatar (same synth). Also, because it's an early vst, it barely uses any cpu cycles. Nice and gritty!
Pretty good synth, really captures that old Vangelis/Pink Floyd (i'm not sure any of these used the odyssey, though, I just mean the sound) analog feeling.
Really good work what do you run your soft synths into? AD/DA Converters it's all sounding nice and fat I have a similar home set up running presonus and a soundcraft ghost desk.
It is worth buying. The oddity is very good. Try out .... its a good investment. This demonstration shows not all the possibilities of this fantastic software synth
I actually just bought it..If anyone has it,when i try to set my input for midi controller, its tells me that i cannot change me midi device....Therefore i cannot use it
I still don't understand. The Oddity is software - the sound can be routed to your soundcard or to any external audio interface you have connected to your computer. You play it using a MIDI keyboard, which can be connected to your computer via USB or a standard MIDI interface.
the psp plugins are superb lexicon software replicas ...the oddity is cool too ( from G media)...
Check out the softsynths from a dutch manufacturer called 'Fabfilter ' ...ubelievable filters and synths ......check it out ...you won't regret it ....
hi, what's that Lexicon-looking delay thingie underneath the Oddity on screen? is it part of software package? you demo some good sounds here.. That's the way to do it, just play the sounds, go thru patches so we can hear the synth & leave the talk-show yammering & 'verbal commentary" <yawn> to the more musically-challenged. Action speaks louder than words..
It's the PSP 84 from PSP Audioware. I am using it as a digital delay on the Oddity.
I started making these videos - just playing the sounds - because I, too, was tired of demo videos (especially those from the manufacturers) that had too many people yammering. I just want to hear the damn thing! :)
Nice! An original Odyssey is about the only synth that I lust after, shame their build quality wasn't great, man those sliders.:-(

This looks soooo cool but I have two questions :D
Does this cost anything to download?
And can you sample songs from files on this program?
teelistrill 2 years ago
I don't know if you can download it, but you can buy it online, typically for about $99. Google.
This is a synthesizer - doesn't have anything to do with sampling songs.

To make these videos I am using a Canopus ADVC-100 converter because it is a combination of audio and video.

I hate when the demo guy goes onto a 10 minute rant about some trivial effect that 2 people will use

is this an older version of Reason?
xXiamerrorXx 4 years ago
No, I am not using Reason at all. Oddity is a standalone synth running as an Audio Unit inside Digital Performer.

I like the sound you use at 1:50 ; is that a Preset or your own creation ?

As I recall, it's a preset, but I may have tweaked it a bit.
