When the Mughals came from Afghanistan and beyond, there was a lot of inter mixing, so one half of the lineage caused the religion to change for many people. This is a video about Bengalis in general, not Bangladeshis. Also don't forget brother that even though we are Muslims, our ancestors were Hindus and Buddhists. The only difference between us is that when the Islamic missionaries came from places like Turkey and Afghanistan, our ancestors converted while the Hindus and Buddhists didn't. These are minor differences though and I think there should be increased cooperation among Bengalis, both from India and Bangladesh.

@paxbd1991 Well, not entirely true. Not everybody converted in the sense that you are talking about. When the Mughals came from Afghanistan and beyond, there was a lot of inter mixing, so one half of the lineage caused the religion to change for many people. Though yes, there were entire Hindu families who converted without any inter mixing. I just presented both sides of the story.

There are 250 million Bengali in the world and there are Eastern Indo-Aryan, Tibeto-Burman, Dravidian, Turkish, Arabian, Central Asian, Persian gene among the present day Bengalis. So indeed one Bengali may very well look different from another and there is no one stereotype face of a Bengali. Your research is wrong. Do it again. You might get it right.

For last 800 years, Muslims from all over the world, namely, Turkish, sunni Persian, Afghans and Central Asian military units and preachers have settled into what is now known as Bangladesh and their descendent's do have different anatomical features than local dravidian and indo aryan population.long nose is a common feature among many Bengalis.

And I doubt about the so-many genetical input of Muslims in South Asian gene pool ; they love to connect themselves with others, but scientific studies have proven that, for instance, in North India-Pakistan where there a lot of 'Sayeds', they're not of Arab ancestry, but former Brahims who want to keep privilegies.

I have yet to meet a single pakistani who has a fairer skin color than me. Does that mean all Bengalis are fairer skin colored than all pakistanis? when hindus started converting to islam in south asia they recieved titles based on thier positions in society which were then determined by the caste system,
hindu brahmin and kshatriya ( especially rajput and khatri) families who converted to islam recieved honorific ttiels such as sayyed, quraishi, siddiqui and khawaja as well as sheikh.
this happened with christians too.
there are still msulim rajputs - muslims who have carried the title of rajput down
