Whoever here is not seeing their wires stop crying and open up your xbox. I thought I had a BenQ because of the drive confusion. I opened my xbox to flash it and came to find it was a fucking Lite-On, which is really hard to freaking flash

I am putting a brand new drive in mine...dont need to flash it...take the control board out or whatever it is...just switch your old one out into the new drive..much easier...less chances to mess up...and it reads the new drive the same it did your old one....much better way to do it im my opinion

If your ordering a new drive or whatever...theres a code on the back of it...i have a 07 model arcade the code on mine is GDR-3120L...Order the new drive by the code losted on your drive you have and youll get the right one...mines hitachi too

I think thats one of the easiest ones. If your COM port are right, you maybe don't have to buy anything. Just Google "Xbox 360 BenQ Flash Tutorial".

no, if you buy a new drive and you want to use it in your 360 then you need to get the key from the old drine and put it on the new one.

sigh of course not. even if you open your xbox 360 and plug in the new drive, it's not going to work. you have to inject the key from the old drive to the new drive for it to work.

Hmm before last xmas only the benq was moddsable... but now the lite on can be done also... but benq is much easyer for them n00bs. But if you have a little skill the lite on is peanuts also... and about the quality i must say that the lite on is a bit beter. Benq has problems with games like GTA etc like bad texture loading etc and with the lite on its fixed. thats why all the new 360 systems have these lite on drives!

iprep 101 v008 beta will NOT not flash the Philips Lite-on DG-16D2S. These drives are not flashable. It will however flash other drives with the KEY extracted from a Philips Lite-on DG-16D2S. I have been informed that the perminent fix for such Philips Lite-on DG-16D2S drives is both HW & SW based that requires soldering to J1C1 & J1D2 Headers on the mainboard.

benq. It's hackable. That is if you wan to read "backup" discs. Lite-On currently doesn't have a hack to read "backup" discs. Hope This Helps.
