, the only people who are allowed to live in PyongYang are the elites, the higher ups in the party and military, their families, and a very small percentage of people from the countryside who are brought in to serve those elites. Of course, DPRK has a food issue, having a 1ce in a 100 year drought coupled w/ USSR (chief food donor- can't farm much in mountains) toppling and SANCTIONS on top of that ain't helping anyone's cause. So poverty will b there but it's much less than South Asia, Africa, Laos, Burma etc.

On what basis do u make that judgement? DPRK's a country that is industrialized but is severely under utilized as there is not much trade and commerce activity w/ main trading partner (USSR) and also sanctions.

Cambodia is not industrialized even fully. DPRK can produce a car under joint venture, and they can produce bikes indegenously (for example). Cambodia can't....

Also DPRK was a middle income country till about 1993, Cambodia never was.
