It's true that countries need to primarily tackle these problems for themselves, a pity that there is so much corruption which doesnt help, but the other problem is ever increasing populations putting strain on limited water resources. People need to do 3 things, practice birth control, think outside the box and overthrow their government if it's really that bad.

@bombkangaroo I think you'll find it's not simple as digging a hole...the costs of urban sewer systems and maintenance are enormous for major centres, for example Delhi, both in the construction costs and also repairs. The places suffering from this problem are generally the ones that have done nothing except dig holes in the ground to shit in without flowing water systems to wash it away. That being said you're right to some extent....even the Romans understood the need for sewer systems lol.
