I have been fortunate enough to see this flick, and it's a revelation. I wasn't ready to see the charismatic, likeable side of this guy, but it's right there, impossible to deny. He really tapped into something real in America. And it feels really important to understand exactly how Americans are repeatedly convinced to vote against their own interests by appeals to emotion and fear that Atwater perfected and which are being used EXACTLY the same way right now.
