  • My God, I'm amazed at how so many people who comment on here seem to think that dirty politics is only carried out by the GOP. The democrats are just as guilty as the republicans, and if you don't believe that, you belong in a straightjacket.

  • Maybe KARL ROVE is going take Lea Attwaters ass whooping! You can talk all you want MrGrevy a draft dodger has no business who throwing Vietnam vetrens like John McCain and John Kerry under the bus! Look what happened in the long run you live dirty you die dirty!

  • MrGrevy is a neocon self righteous moron who cant think for himself! Rove is not a great man! He's propaganda puppet who didnt finish college and draft dodge! So know who you are getting bed with!

  • Lee Atwater, the father of the GOP's Southern Strategy, explaining it shortly before his death in 1991:

"You start out in 1954 by saying, 'Nigger, nigger, nigger.' By 1968 you can't say 'nigger' - that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is blacks get hurt worse than whites.

  • Continued...

"And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me - because obviously sitting around saying, 'We want to cut this,' is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than 'Nigger, nigger.'

  • The song is "Wandering Child" by Gov't Mule.

  • what is the name of the song in the background?

  • What is the name of the song playing in the background? plz

  • The Republicans are sort of like the vacuum cleaner salesman who is at the front door with a big smile on his face, but he is hiding a meat cleaver behind his back. You really start thinking it's a bad idea to let him in the house.

  • @BoomerNavy70 I couldn't agree more. They're sociopaths in the truest sense of the word. Check out this little snippet from Las Vegas, Nevada:

For the second time, a former Clark County Republican Party treasurer has been found guilty of killing his former wife and her father. A District Court jury on Tuesday found John Chartier guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder.

Gotta love those Republican family values!

  • Has anyone noticed that whenever we have a Texan in the White House the country goes to hell. Lyndon Johnson, Bush, Sr., Bush, Jr. Then we have people like Tom Delay, Phil Graham and John Tower....all god damn crooks and hypocrites. Do you know why that happens? Because they go after the bottom-feeder intellects in this country.

  • How any Republican can take pride in being associated with the likes of Lee Atwater and Karl Rove is beyond the comprehension of anyone with any degree of intelligence. They turned politics into a form lower than whale shit.

  • Hey MrGrevy I saw that comment you made about the monkey.

Even if there was a monkey in the White House he would still be a hell of a lot better than some asshole conservative and do you know why? Because even a monkey has enough sense not to be a Republican.

By the way there McGrevy how is that "Drill Baby Drill' campaign working out for you guys?

  • You righties make it easy to bring race into the conversation. We just call it as we see it. :-D

  • Anyway, moving on to more important things, I'm sure old Lee would be flattered that the despicable tactics he pioneered in the 20th century are still inspiring slope skulls all over the land today who are stuck in a bygone era. Hell, they would take us back to the 18th century if they could. Great film, and a must see for any college students out there thinking about going into politics.

  • He's mad as hell folks...and his name is MrGrevy! Coming to a comedy club near you for pennies on the dollar!!

  • Question: Why are most conservatives tough talking, mud slinging scumbags who are all PUSSIES, I mean they are wimps, sissies and the biggest little girls were it not for the podium and the microphone protecting their silly little asses.

I am a Republican or at least have been registered as one all my life but am a man without a party due to sleazeballs like this atwater, G.E. Bush, Karl Rove, Rush, O'Reily, Glenn Beck, Hannity and other scum in the conservative movement.

  • @MACKATTACK1970 Yeah considering that the military is overwhelmingly republican, I think you'd better reconsider those words. Worthless little bedwetting worm.

  • Around 2:07, Howard Fineman (now of MSNBC and Newsweek) remarks that "life gets even with you." What a prick. Waiting for the day that karma comes 'round for Fineman.

  • Jesus H! You're right! Look at those insane eyes! You think it was coke?

  • ???

  • If Reagan was such a patriot and had nothing to to with seling ars to a terrorist country he would have had Olly North executed before a firing squad.

I had great joy when I heard the news on Atwater. I wanted him to suffer greatly, beyond anything anyone ever had.

He was a pathetic piece of shit and a big part of the reason the GOP brought our country to the state it's in now. His pain could not have been near what him and his ilk deserve

  • @scalliwagrx8 I suppose you're proud of Obama and his disgusting coddling of idiots like Calderon?? Good god take a break and read up on what's going on in the world. Goofy twit.

  • @MrGrevy

who are you calling a "twit" you "lintlicker"?!?!?! What the hell does Obama and Calderon have to do with this subject or my comment? Did Obama give Calderon missiles? Iran was a terrorist country and Reagan's cronies did just that and ran an illegal war.

  • Well I had to suffer under Jimmy Carter. Those 4 years he was in office were the worst of my life. Carter was the first Democrat I voted for. He was also the last Democrat I voted for. Thanks to those "Republican lies and manipulation" I'm not suffering anymore.

  • "Thanks to those Republicans ... I'm not suffering anymore."

That's right. It's all about you.

Republican philosophy: Trickle-up economics ... and fuck everyone else.

Ronald Reagan. The world's greatest .... union buster.

All of you motherfuckers wrap yourselves up in the flag to cover up how much the Repub party acutally HATES the true working people of this country. Motherfuckers need to die. And I'll fucking kill you.

  • No, it's not trickle-up economics.... it's a giant geyser racing upwards and almost nothing trickling down. That is the Republican philosophy.... extremely top heavy and then tell those at the bottom that the Immigrants and Blacks are the ones at fault for the hardship.

  • If you want to listen to an intelligent analysis of the right-wing project of the past 30/40 years, watch 'A Brief History of Neoliberalism,' a talk given a number of years ago by geographer/anthropologist David Harvey. No histrionics, no conspiracy theory: just a cogent analysis of the economic project that neoliberalism has been ... and its class warfare roots I listen to this video every few months for the intellectual zing it gives me. Harvey is a masterful speaker & researcher.

  • @CSpanAddict1982 Yeah be sure to get that race factor in there! You lefties would be lost without the race card.

  • @MrGrevy It's easy to play the race card when you call people "negroids" and compare them to monkeys. In other words, when you're dealing with a racist.

  • @bapyou God if you don't understand the basics, just don't comment.

  • @bapyou Good luck with that. Conservatives have all the guns you ghetto bred uneducated parasite.

  • As a non-american and proud socialist and athiest I must confess I like this guy. He promoted everything I hate about politics. He did that shamefully, but also in a way that whas very honest, if you get what i mean. I dont believe he whas a racist but only a relentless opportunist. I also know he regreted allot of things he did in politics when he whas sick. Kinda makes him sympathetic dont you think lol

  • "I dont think Lee is a bad person. I think all he wanted was to be able to get to the TOP and its obvious that he had back stab a couble of people to win."

The second sentence seems like a contradiction of the first.

  • I dont think Lee is a bad person. I think all he wanted was to be able to get to the TOP and its obvious that he had back stab a couble of people to win. Yes what he did was wrong, but that is just one of the many way get to the top

  • The movie ends with questioning Atwaters apologies on his deathbed. Looking at a dying Atwater on his bed, at the state he is in, it is just too sick to state that this could just be another example of Atwater deception. A bible still wrapped in cellophane should proof that he was lying! Would the finding of a second bible not wrapped in cellophane posthumous save him from burning at the stake? Forbes loves his own dirty tricks way too much to counterbalance this medieval inquisition.

  • Why would anyone lie about being a fag! Lee went to gay bath houses in the 70's & early 80's and died of aid's....

  • @muscle10freak Gotta love the sensitive liberal! What a delightful human being you are. Parents must be proud.

  • This documentary has a bitchin' soundtrack.

  • GWB was one ugly sumbitch back then. He looked like an ape with that unibrow. LOL

  • @LuvChaos Better than looking like a monkey tho

  • Robert Novak's karma has come in the form of a brain tumor as well. That's ironic given that he was a tool for both Atwater and Rove. I'd like to see Rove, Limbaugh, Hannity and the rest of the scumbags get what they deserve in the end.

  • I agree with you naming Rove. But the rest you mention. Well, they would need a brain to have a tumor, right?

  • How hard is Rove 's down fall going to be?

  • @G7X3 Hopefully not as hard as Cheney's. Given they are both completely evil bastards.

  • @Fade9150 lol yeah 'evil' dude! Keep spouting that nonsense! Tell us about the 9-11 conspiracy while you're at it. Freaking anti semitic GOON.

  • @MrGrevy Explain how my comment had an anti-semitic undertone. Try and send away for some green stamps and put some efforts in your comments.

  • @Fade9150 If you're bashing what you call 'neocons' - yes, that is a veiled anti semitic slur my uninformed friend. But hey, don't let those facts get in the way!

  • @MrGrevy Your putting words in my mouth and calling them facts. What an intelligent way to debate. Send away for some Betty Crocker points and then try and come back and enter a debate in which you completely missed the point.

  • @Fade9150 I think you mean "You're" you illiterate goof.

  • @MrGrevy Nice try, wingnut, but equating Jewish Liberals have little to nothing to do with a movement that has been hijacked by flaming knuckledraggers like yourself. Your simple-minded deceit is quite hilarious. Do continue....

  • @LuvChaos lo Wingnut! wow you certainly have the lingo down. Have you ever had an original thought? I think the negroids are the knuckle draggers by the way. Have you ever gottne anything right? Anti semitic moron.

  • @G7X3 Rove is a great man. Please stfu about him you goofy brainwashed loser.

  • @MrGrevy Once again, nothing but hyperbole and predictable romper room attacks to offer. Get a life jackass. I'm done with you. LOL

  • @LuvChaos Shhh...you're not making any sense. Are you black or something?

  • @LuvChaos As did the murderer Ted Kennedy's. Wonder what's in store for Byrd, and the rest of the evil sickos on the left?

  • @MrGrevy Feel better now? I hope you do, because none of your laughable and predictable whining changes the fact that Atwater is frying in hell right now where he belongs. But hey, don't worry because Karl Rove, Dubya, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Gaffney along with their minions Ingraham, Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly and the rest of the NEOSCUM trash will join Atwater, Novack, Snow, Nixon and the rest of Satan's helpers in HELL one day for a Grand Old Party! So cheer up!

  • @LuvChaos Yeah I don't think there's a hell there you religious weirdo!

  • @MrGrevy Yeah I didn't expect someone of your limited intellect to understand my point. Sarcasm and metaphors are foreign concepts to wingnuts!

  • @LuvChaos Yeah that was a really deep metaphor! God are you Plato or something? Please tell me more...

  • Karma can be a bitch and if you're Lee Atwater it visits you in form of brain cancer.

Karl Rove should see this movie and think about what might be in store for him.

There had better be a special place in hell reserved for these 2 sociopaths.

  • Hopefully rethuglicans will go see this because it's about one of their heros. Perhaps it will cause them to rethink their values.

    NAH! What was I thinking?

This played at the Dallas Video Festival last weekend but I just missed it. I bet it was a smash. Mostly pro-America types (liberals) go to this fest. No NASCAR or missing young white girls so nothing for conservatives. WAY too deep for them.

  • @armadilloze Yeah we shouldn't care if a white kid is missing! It's all about skin color huh?

  • Rove's mentor, and a disgusting human being. So glad the Rethugs lost this time.

  • @MorganChrista Yeah now we have obama, who can't handle a damn oil spill. Great for the environment, huh? Effeminate oddball.

  • I love the little snippet of liar, Pundit, Apologizer, Political Whore Supreme, Mary Matalin... What a pig.

  • Isn't it amazing that Lee Atwater at the end of his life wanted to repent. Another pseudo christian who believes in the Lord, but has hatred in his heart. Those Southern Christian values that they speak so highly of always come back to bite them in the ass. What hypocrisy.

It is amazing that Karl Rove didn't learn what "not to do" from the life experience of Lee Atwater. Instead Karl Rove became another Republican demonic prick just like Atwater.

The Lord is waiting for you too Rove.

  • AMEN !! we hope it is soon. what can u do .. it's a shame to have to say it

  • Jesus took hater Atwater home early because of his sins. Sleep well, Karl Rove. And all rethuglicans. We know you worship this turd, so you are no better than him.

  • Republicans must love being hated because they keep making the same mistakes over, and over again.

The Atwater's of the world are the kinds of people they admire, they think they are smart, intelligent, extraoidinary human beings when in reality Lee Atwater represented everything that is wrong with America, not what is right with it.

Thank god the Republican reign of terror is almost over.

  • @BoomerNavy70 Huh? What planet do you live on? lol you 'people' have the presidency you know.

  • our worst on display for all to see, we better find a different way or it's too late for us.

  • google bill moyers/lee atwater....lee atwater, who died from a brain tumor, regretted the life he had led and the choices he had made...he died a very sorry, sad man...he created the politics of the republican party (rove et al) and he died knowing what a bad thing he had done....Obama is a new politics and atwater as he was dying would have supported him. Shame on the republican party!

  • The Republican Party is like the bully in school. They can dish it out and can't take it. Look at all what has happened to them. The whole world knows now that they do not have skeletons in their closet they have a graveyard. Obama just has to stick to the issues, but son't hesitate to call them out on their nastiness and hypocrisy

  • The point that HW Bush and many others might have seen jail time is legit. The great cover-up of Iran-Contra paved the way for the "big sell", executed by many of the same players (Elliot Abrams, Perle, etc) on Iraq.

We're all paying for that failure of justice.

  • He's one reason I hope hell exists. Fry fucker, fry,

  • That's really harsh but I have to agree. This guy was a pig...and he died like one.

  • @ebber35 Good lord stfu you bedwetting weirdo. He was a brilliant and great man. You libs demonize anyone who dares disagree with you. So much for nuance and open mindedness, huh? Of course that would be lost on a slope-brow goon like you.

  • @MrGrevy No one cares what a GOP boot licker like u thinks. Say hi to that fucker in hell for me when u get there. He'll be eating Reagan the Appeaser's ass if u can't find him.

  • You've got to check out this movie. It rocks! So relevant to the way the Presidential campaign is being played out -- and a fascinating portrait of an intense and entertaining man.

  • This documentary is about Lee Atwater, the founding father of smear tactics championed by the Republican party.

Lee wins the award for most difficult person to feel pity towards after they died.

  • Agreed. It's an ugly thing to say, an ugly way to feel, but when he was dying of cancer I got to admit it felt like karma, justice, whatever, if you believe in that kind of thing.

  • I saw this film and it is completely captivating, entertaining and informative. This is a must-see if you have any interest at all in finding out where all the recent negative campaigning has come from. "Boogieman" change the way you view politics.

  • If you want to know what McCain is up to with the last 26 days of the election, see Boogie Man. It gives an incredible history of the history of American gutter politics since the 1970's.

  • I have been fortunate enough to see this flick, and it's a revelation. I wasn't ready to see the charismatic, likeable side of this guy, but it's right there, impossible to deny. He really tapped into something real in America. And it feels really important to understand exactly how Americans are repeatedly convinced to vote against their own interests by appeals to emotion and fear that Atwater perfected and which are being used EXACTLY the same way right now. See it.

  • If you have any interest in this election and/or politics in general, don't miss this film! It's compelling, incredibly informative, fast-paced, and fun. Director Stefan Forbes has nailed a piece of American history and, by doing so, is shedding some serious light on our current political and cultural climate. See it and enjoy!

  • amazing documentary, highly recommended to everyone and anyone who is interested in politics. I saw it last night and it blew me away completely.
