Brilliant!! I have a green cheeked conure, and would love another parrot. I'm looking at eclectus parrots as my next bird.. Riley is amazing!!

Tell me two things though please: do they bite much? Our GCC bites occasionally and even though he is small it hurts like hell - I can't imagine being bitten by an eclectus!!

Also, are they messy with their poos? Our GCC has pretty much been toilet trained, and we reduce his accidents by giving him regular poo breaks.. what are the eclectus like?

Thanks for writing and lovely comments. Birds(ekkie) don't bite when you have won their confidence and trust. They may become jealous and may bite you. I was bitten but t'was like a friendly bite. Indeed when they really bite that's the hurting part. Riley knows when he does something he turns around and says dirty. When they are in the aviary, it doesn't matter as we just clean up every other day. Please vist Riley's website, check my channel for the site. Cheers Brenda

I did that time, not much, I really didn't know, not anymore. He's ok. They are not loud if you give them all your love and attention. Maybe if they talk too much but it's fun to listen to them.

I love riley and my boys, Chester (Green Cheek Conure) and Cheeto (barraband parrot) love listening to him talk on all his videos and try to talk to him and wave at him and dance with him. You can tell there is an amazing bond and that he has been very well loved and cared for. My only concern is you don't really give him coffee do you? Caffiein is just terrible for birds not to mention the milk or cream in it, as well as if you put sugar in it is terrible too.

haha no it doesnt make em speak better there accutally not supposed to have caffine but thats all a bunch of crap i feed mine lots of salt toast with butter creamcheese its completly fine but i would not chocolate caffine haha or ALOCOHAL!

How's Riley doing? We haven't seen any new videos for awhile. I play Riley all the time for our 1.5 yr old Eclectus, Mojito. I think it encourages his talking. He doesn't talk nearly as clearly as Riley, but he has his favorite words that he says very well.

Mojito is almost 2 years old now and love him much. My daughter now works with exotic birds, hand feeding, grooming and helping with boarding birds, so we've learned a lot. Eclectus' are one of easiest birds to bring into a family. Mojito seems to like everyone! He's learning to talk very well and does lots of playful things that keep us all laughing. He's part of the family and goes lots of places with us. His vocabulary isn't nearly as large as Riley's. Thanks 4 your advise. Cheers 2 U

We have a hahn's macaw, Bosco, that is gorgeous but a total spoiled brat... and not a very good talker... but, he was a rescue and he is a love... and he always tries to drink out of my coffee. I have been watching Riley for almost a year now and it's incredible to watch his progress over the last year. He was already an incredible talker from day one, but his understanding of the concepts of "I" and "you" is amazing, as well as his understanding of everyone's names! Riley is just awesome!
