Rockpalast gave Rory the chance to play live to millions and millions of people. He played 5times at Rockpalast. So, no other nation gave Rory more airtime than we here in Germany. That this documentation comes from here does not surprise me either.
@gillan5 that is true, but I saw some performances of Rory at Rockpalast and it struck me how stiff the audience was sitting, while they hit the stage and rocked the place. No one danced, clapped their hands, sat swinging, no one shook his or her body, so calm and still they were sitting, I found that really odd. (or maybe they were struck by his music, that is an explanation for it of course) lol
It is such a funny sight, see Rory in the middle of these corporate men in suits, while he is just himself as always. That is what makes him so genuine and shows his integrity ........
Hope you'll realize - this documentation was made for German TV users . Btw. it 's the old West Berlin TV "Sender Freies Berlin " which isn't existent now since the fall of the Berlin Wall .
You should be very , very thankful for this and the respect & love the Germans had for Rory and his music !
So YOU should respect the German language too in this case !
I didn't day anything disrespectful about any language, I just said that I couldn't hear what he said and since I do not speak german i didn't understand.Simple. I would have said the exact same thing if some Greek dude was talking over Rory as well. What's the matter with ppl nowdays..jeez.
Agree. If you've heard the 3 DVD set, Live at the Rockpalast, on the first DVD, this annoying KRAUT keeps breaking in, and interrupting Rory's concert with this insane and annoying banter. And don't anyone out there give me any crap about the word kraut, the last fours letters of my last name are BACH. Any idea where my grandparents came from? kraut land!

Actualy there's a lot interviews of Rory I did off becouse I couldn't stand what the man talking.. unfortunately, most german documentaries without subtitles.

This is lovely. it gives us a few moments of Rory photographed elsewhere than the stage.
Germany always adored Rory. And I agree, fair play to the Germans! They figured out how important he was way before anybody else (except in Ireland).
He is so fabulous in these clips.
