I picked up my copy of the bluray the day it came out and it was BEYOND AMAZING!!! The brilliant HD enhances the experience! The Criterion release is hands down the BEST release of Godzilla in the west! I LOVE IT!!!

Are there big differences between getting the regualr dvd and the blu-ray? becuz i dont wana spend the extra money getting blu-ray just because the quality is a lil better.

Did Criterion take liberties with the translation into English?

Classic media version: Girl on train: "it's terrible. Contaminated tuna and radioactive fallout and now Godzilla to top it all off"

Criterion "I barely escaped the atomic bomb at Nagasaki-and now this"

@bktube25 I don't speak Japanese, but I'm pretty sure you can hear the actress say "Nagasaki" and never says "Godzilla". Why do you assume the older translation is accurate? I think it is more likely the previous translation was editorialized than Criterion's.
