Thank you, God, for letting me live in the era of Rafi Sahib, Madan Mohan, Lataji...and all the great giants who have made my life worth living for 70 years.
Beautiful song. No more words left to describe the voice and singing ability of this giant. The music also is very fitting with the superb last 15 seconds that conclude the song. This song is in Rafi's territory. And there were hundreds like this which he was deprived of in the 70's. But in reality, he was not deprived. We were. Its our loss. Thanks to some man eaters.
This song made for Rafi sahab and made by Rafi sahib tauching the hights of sky.I wonder who was the exact music dir. of this song because it states Madan Mohan and Jaidev .they ware both legends not to forget Sahir
@STARLIGHTZIA This particular song was composed by Madan Mohan himself. Jaidev has no credit to this song or the hit of the year(1977 not 1976) Husn Hazir Hai Mohabbat Ki Sazaa Paaney Ko. Due to Madan's sudden demise, the film director requested Jaidev to compose three songs which were added to the film.
omg they tried to give kishore the song? what were these producers thinking(obviously it wasnt madan mohan's or jaidev's decision to use kishore)? kishore kumar -great, but was a fad that actually caused deterioration to hfm in 70s when compared to 60's...thank GOD the md wasnt pancham otherwise he would have just reduced the scal so kishore could sing it. :)

true, i was going to say 70's too, but i didnt want to make it sound like i didnt like the 50-60's
kya hua tere wada was his only award in the 70's (filmfare award) but he won 6 awards in the 60's

You have summed this song up very well. So true only Rafi could have invoked those deep hurtful feelings portrayed in this scene.
Well said!!!

It was remoured and correct me if i'm wrong but Kishore tried to sing this song but couldn't reach the high notes, so Rafi was used.

This is very touching song and I keep listening to it over and over. I think anybody that listens to it and doesnt get it they don't have a heart.

Or maybe they don't understand Urdu...Lol, I understand Urdu and I think I have a heart as well. Nice song.

with this song Rafi Sahib announced his emergence again in bollywood. He was strongly supported in this quest by Madan Sahib-the master!

True. 90% of Madan Mohan male voice songs are all sang by Mohd. Rafi, most of the rest are sung by Talat Mehmood.

Beautiful music and rendition of Qais & Laila. We use to watch this with my mom every Saturday afternoon. Great cinematography. Loved the actors.
