Great game. I played it everyday back in 87 until I was able to beat it. I liked the way it looked in Tandy mode without the dithering that you see here. Also, the game is a little harder on the original PC-88. There aren't nearly as many hidden enemies that provide an ENMAX (Energy Maximum) boost. Download PC88Win and the Thexder ROM to see what I mean. All you have to do is get to level 2 to see the lack of hiddens. Only a few at the end of the level rather than sprinkled throughout.
Well played! I used to have this game as a kid and always got frustrated with it. I made it to level 12..............once. Somehow i expected more out of the final level . But thanks a million for posting this!
This was super hard being ten with a give inch floppy.

I agree. I remember being rather disappointed that there were no congratulations or any sort of real ending. You leave and it just starts over.
