I was smart enough (VERY unlike me) to transfer this wonderful LP on to CD before I wore it out totally. I've made several for dear friends. There are a couple of scratches on "The Nut-Brown Maiden" but I've learned to live with them.
There is a Danish version of It's Good to See You on youtube (Bente Kure & Leif Ernstsen). It is also on the album "Out of Time" by Allan Taylor. I find it amusing, that he was told off by audiences for singing this song - "Alex' song" - after Alex' death. After all, he only wrote the song! :-D I believe though, Alex was the one, who translated it into Danish?
@spkk62 I'm searching for that song as well....thank you for the very nice comment!!! if you check out my favorite list i found a nice version (Although it's not Alex Campbell) of "it's good to see you" here on youtube...
You're welcome slvdogg, but it's me who should be thanking you. Do you happen to have any more from the 'Songs of Bonnie Scotland album?
Alex Campbell was a very friendly, normal sort of man, we sat at a table, had a drink and chat with him, before guiding him on to the main road in our car. He was off to Germany that night...he looked exhausted, poor man.
Thanks a mill slvdogg for posting this lovely song. Have been searching for it a long time, since my l.p became too scratched to listen to any more.We had the honour of meeting him when he came to Holland years ago when he sang and played in a small club.
An enchanting video that captures the mood of this haunting Scottish lament by Alex Campbell. A thought provoking collaboration, and a credit tae "Peabo Productions." WELL DONE!!

Oh, I mis this man. Why is'nt "It's good to see you" no where to be found? He often was on Ærø and visited my family.

A great album that I fell in love with as a kid. And this was my favorite song.
Little did I know then that I would sing it 30 years later at my brother's memorial service. The best way I had to say goodbye.
