I agree with onemanarmy, i think it is addressing how people love to say punk was "real" back in the 70s, etc. Punk is a lifestyle and attitude not a style of haircut or dress.

Anyone that thinks The Sex Pistols weren't punk are just trying to be as "different" as possible.
