Dear Sir, your words sound hard, but they are true. I study shotokan and I freeed myself from politics, infact this conflicts between different martial arts are ridiculous. And like you I tell my students, that there is no good or bad Karate, there is just the way. They all have to find out thereselves, what will work best in a combat situation, which they hopefully can avoid. The shocking experience to be in a real fight can just be lowered by hard training and calmness. Take my respect, Oss

I study and teach Karate, I like what Sifu Guerra says. He thinks the way I think. And sir we in karate have the same crap that you have with the infighting and who's better than who crap. I tell my students there training for there self's, not for anyone else. Thank you for your post Sir.

Good to hear this from somebody out there! Very true BUT, this constant political crap, I think is also the cause for the constant further development and adapting to other styles that I believe is unique in Wing Tsun. I am lucky to be trained by a Sifu who keeps himself out of all this political crap and teaches me pretty much like you described you should. I'm grateful for that. I'll be spreading this video.

Titles are not for us to bestow upon ourselves. The concepts in Wing Chun are simple and there is the complication. Everyone WANTS things to be complicated, WC is the exception to this and it is why you see all these add on versions of the system, it shows a lack of understanding of the system, and of course there is money to be made. The fact is most people who practice Martial Arts NEVER use the skill transfer because they have NEVER been in a fight. Talk is cheap, this is a DOING thing.

I have to say it's all about a standard. Ving Tsun is based on easy movements most people who want to learn this incredible sysytem are mislead in believing by doing the moves they now real kung fu, big mistake it takes lots of hard practice, s you stated to make it instinctive, making it yours..!

What you say is true, however the blame for the atmosphere lies mostly with the 'masters' themselves.

Everyone claiming that Ip Man only showed the secret scrolls to me! Leun Ting editing those photos and beating up his girlfriend. The hilarity of Sifu Billy rolling around on the ground with Sifu Bozepte.

Seems the only lineage that doesn't get into that nonsense is the WSL line, there they appear to teach you how to fight and dispense with the garbage.

I like your comments you're speaking about the real problem here. But I think the problem is originated due to Wing Chung don't have a standard that all clubs can use.

But in Karate there is always a standard you can use to measure up against therefore there are less conflict.
