  • I have an emg 81 and this is definitely not an 81 sound.

  • What's the point of this video? Are we listening to the EMG pickup?

  • @DarkKnife444 Flying with Doves

  • @joeydahlia : thanks dude :)

  • Sounds almost like a piezo pickup.

  • damn all you peeps know alot about pickups

can you guys help me out? if you look at my first video i talk about my guitar and play some shit. but i try to play extremely hard and fast riffs what kind of pickups would you all recommend? thanks

  • @maggotman95 If you're set on EMG's, you can't go wrong with the 81/85 combo.

If you want something a bit different, a bit thicker then go for an 85 in the bridge and perhaps a 60A in the neck.

  • did you tried the Suhr pickups? Speaking of clarity, I believe they're winners. Today, I've ordered a set of AHB-1 and 2 X AS-1 or a humbucker and 2 single coils blackout if you prefer. I love these pu's modern liquid lead of smooth low-gain solos "a la Gilmour" ....I know, I know Gilmour doesn't use much gain BUT I am ; ) Can't wait to try the 2 gain stage on the single coils along with a push/pull pot. Thanks for the great clip.

  • When you say the Evo dominates the 81x, in which ways?

I'm considering a Dimarzio set in a new Ibanez, but at the same time, I'm a happy EMG user. The only other set i've ever seriously considered dropping EMG for was the Dave Mustaine Livewires, but the Dimarzio Evolution sounds interesting.

  • @LevitoMax the emg sax on the neck it the best I have ever heard...as for the bridge the passive evo's its the best..as of today

  • @joeydahlia

well i mean how do you feel the Evolution is superior to the 81x, and for which reasons?

  • @LevitoMax the 81 x lasted a week...they are nasty as hell the Evos's are crystal clear..I went from Evos to 81x back to Evos''..and they are wonderful

  • @joeydahlia You obviously haven't even heard a BKP...

  • @LevitoMax

If you want a pickup with presense, get the livewires.

    Blackouts are nice too.

  • @Geetarfrik

Im an EMG user for years now, EMG's are far superior to blakouts imo, althoug the Mustaine Signature Livewires are fantastic pickups, I've considered those for a long time now.

  • hi nice vid, what would u go for emg sa or emg sax if you want jazz/clean tones and decent low overdrive

  • Is the beginning clean part the EMG 81 or the SAX?

  • the sax in the neck ,but I am going back to the evo's but this is the pickup you want in the neck...

  • Why are you going back to Evo's?

  • The EMG SAX is the best neck pickup out there, but the 81x and the 85x are way to high powered..the EVO;s are far better and more natural..I will miss the SAX

  • I got my Evolution back in the bridge, and it is killer..dominates the 81x or the 85x..but nothing will replace the sax in the neck

  • If you want you could have used the EMG 60 if you were mostly doing cleans, or the regular 85 wouldve worked

  • I am selling all 3 if you want them..Sax 81x85x and comes with the pots and wiring brand new..

  • how much for just the 81x and 85x?

  • 120.00 for both and the 85x is brand new all the pots and wires were unopened..I am taking the 81x out tomorrow and should have it back by tuesday or wensday..

  • throwback? how is that bad? your retarded

full open tone is a good thing...

  • I was excited to hear of an alnico/noiseless EMG single coil until I heard this demo...it sounds too full range, like some throwback to the 80's

    :(

  • To Full Range HuH???

  • Yes!!!

  • Is this on the bridge pickup?
