Fennec Foxes originate from the north african sahara. They're been breed in captivity for decades as pets. It's not like every single fox is pulled out of the wild and placed into someones home, they know no better and enjoy human socialization as much as your bull mastiff.

Even if you were to let them in "the wild", they wouldn't know what they're doing, as they are not used to it, and would die.

I always thought they could never be FULLY domesticated. I heard that you have to keep them on a close leash, or else they'll bolt and you can never catch them again. And they can burrow away if you leave them outside for too long.

They're certainly domesticated enough to be kept in the house and get along with the rest of the household, though.
