If religion could ONLY be in reference to a supernatural providence, why can people follow their football team 'religiously'? People brush their teeth 'religiously'. People go to church 'religiously'. As you can see, brushing one's teeth does not require belief in a supernatural force, but just a belief that brushing their teeth is the scientifically proven to prevent tooth decay. People follow a football team because of their belief (again, not a SUPERNATURAL belief) in their team.
In the same way, an athiest lives their life in a way defined by their atheistic belief. ie. because they feel that science does not prove the existence of God, and they therefore believe that He does not exist, they live their life as if He doesn't. They live based on their belief. They practice this belief every day just as those believing in a supernatural providence practice their belief every day.
How do you explain people that say 'I'm not religious, I'm spiritual'? They don't practice their beliefs, but still feel they have a relationship with a supernatural providence. Does that make them religious anyway because religion is only attributed to those who believe in the supernatural? I think some people need to think things through and use a bit of logic. Hi. Actually, there are many athiest groups in the world, one of which is run by 'the athiest experience' in which athiests meet in the same way Christians would at churches. There is a British Humanist Society and there are many channels right here on YouTube dedicated to atheistic 'evangelisation'. Dawkins has his own atheist website. The list goes on. I propose that the very fact that these exist points to the argument that athiests practice their beliefs in a very public way.
So too in the way you live your everyday life, do you practice your atheism. Indeed, you are not 'bound' to 'please' a deity by your actions, but if you think about it, this is therefore practice of your non belief. Your non belief allows certain things to be done by you and thus you actively practice this freedom. believe I have stated the logic and reasoning behind this, so feel free to have a glance at other posts I have created on this feed.
'unholy' books include anything tht u find 2 rationally discredit the existence of a deity eg. the 'Origin of Species' (Darwin) or 'God is not Great' (Hitchens). These r manifestations of Science and they aim to convince the reader that God is not real and are the crux of the atheistic layman because they present rationality and reason. Just as I have not met a Christian who doesnt agree with the core of the Bible, I hav nevr engaged with an athiest who doesnt agree with the core of such books.

In fact I'd say most atheists just get on with things and don't bother about meet up clubs and stuff. I do agree that many many athiests do not practice their beliefs as many 'Christians' and 'Muslims' are also very passive in the way that they approach their faith. The very fact that you were not aware of things like these prove that not every athiest is a hardcore, militant 'Origin of Species basher' (see what I did there?! lol) just as not every 'Christian' you meet will be a 'Bible basher'. Many athiest are passive. But there is an increasingly large 'active' athiest community too. :)
I do think that atheism requires alot from its followers in the same way other faiths do. Surely a proper athiest would wish to unite the world under rationality and reason and to get rid of illogical deity based faiths, for example. Anyone who abides by and promotes reason, seeing it as a progressive prerequisite for the evolution of humanity (and the prerequisite for their atheism) must make it their goal to educate the world to 'naturally deselect' 'religion' from the proverbial gene pool.

People go to church 'religiously'. In the same way, an athiest lives their life in a way defined by their atheistic belief. ie. because they feel that science does not prove the existence of God, and they therefore believe that He does not exist, they live their life as if He doesn't. They live based on their belief. They practice this belief every day just as those believing in a supernatural providence practice their belief every day.
Practising a belief is the essence of 'religion'.

Does that make them religious anyway because religion is only attributed to those who believe in the supernatural? I think some people need to think things through and use a bit of logic. Hi. Actually, there are many athiest groups in the world, one of which is run by 'the athiest experience' in which athiests meet in the same way Christians would at churches. There is a British Humanist Society and there are many channels right here on YouTube dedicated to atheistic 'evangelisation'. Dawkins has his own atheist website. The list goes on. I propose that the very fact that these exist points to the argument that athiests practice their beliefs in a very public way.

'unholy' books include anything tht u find 2 rationally discredit the existence of a deity eg. the 'Origin of Species' (Darwin) or 'God is not Great' (Hitchens). These r manifestations of Science and they aim to convince the reader that God is not real and are the crux of the atheistic layman because they present rationality and reason. Just as I have not met a Christian who doesnt agree with the core of the Bible, I hav nevr engaged with an athiest who doesnt agree with the core of such books.

I do agree that many many athiests do not practice their beliefs as many 'Christians' and 'Muslims' are also very passive in the way that they approach their faith. The very fact that you were not aware of things like these prove that not every athiest is a hardcore, militant 'Origin of Species basher' (see what I did there?! lol) just as not every 'Christian' you meet will be a 'Bible basher'. Many athiest are passive. But there is an increasingly large 'active' athiest community too. :)

I do think that atheism requires alot from its followers in the same way other faiths do. Surely a proper athiest would wish to unite the world under rationality and reason and to get rid of illogical deity based faiths, for example. Anyone who abides by and promotes reason, seeing it as a progressive prerequisite for the evolution of humanity (and the prerequisite for their atheism) must make it their goal to educate the world to 'naturally deselect' 'religion' from the proverbial gene pool.

They did not create themselves, and I never said they created themselves anyway. My purpose in life is to have a relationship with the LORD and to glorify Him and spread the good news of Jesus Christ.
