  • @Booksunbound thank you do you want me to tell you a little about Lola and the boy next door

  • I read this like 10 pages and now I have to get it

  • Anna and the french kiss good things its not really a french kiss because that is gross I have to beg my mom for this and now I can tell her its not really a french kiss I better get the book from my mom or sister I beged my mom so much that I kinda lost my voice p.s I better read this soon oh and don't forget about lola abd the boy next door xxx

  • @tonee72 Tell your mom to let you get it ! It has no explicit scenes, no swearing, no violence. It's a really sweet book and talks about really great messages! And yes ! I want to get Lola soon :)

  • "This book made me happy." <-- I agree. It's the dialogue and the setting and the situations and the humour ~~ <3 <3 I think the only thing that bothered me was *SPOILER* how, after only being there for a year, she was able to understand the French conversation between Etienne and his dad. I mean, French people talk SO freaking fast -- especially Parisians -- and it was a pretty passionate conversation too. It just wasn't at all believable to me.

  • @ThesaurusToblerone I agree ! I actually mentioned that in my discussion video - it's ridiculous to assume that she would be able to live in a French setting so easily without knowing any French ! And you're right; she learned it so fast!

  • I'm so glad you liked this book! I'm currently reading Lola and The Boy Next Door, and it's just as good!

  • @AmirasBookReviews It really was fantastic. I'm definitely going to check out Lola, and I'm glad to hear it's good too !

  • Now I need this book haha, great review!

  • @LauraxEliz Definitely go check it out ! And thanks !

  • how u explained the beginning of the book is EXACTLY why i bought it and EXACTLY why i love it. omg im obsessed with st clair<3

  • @beautysbiggestfan1 Yay ! Glad you enjoyed it. I love St. Clair too, haha :)

  • I feel a bit bad because I didn't like it? I agree that the book was definitely improved by it being set in Paris (which is a wonderful city, you have to visit it at some point). But I thought the story was kind of bland and the characters weren't really anything special? I found Anna quite annoying at first too because she was just so ignorant about Paris and French culture. I dunno.

  • @Bethumps I think these are all valid points! And I'm glad you commented with your honest opinion, so thanks for that. First, YES I really want to visit Paris ! Have you been there? It just seems so lovely. Second, I think that the plot itself was a bit dry, but I think it was more character based, more focused on Anna's self-growth. Anna was a bit annoying at first, but then I had to realize that even though I may know a lot about the world, and I may want to travel, not everyone does !

  • @BooksUnbound Yeah I've been to Paris a few times, living across the channel helps I suppose. It's really beautiful though, there's one bridge that's covered in gold and has these massive gold statues, it's ridiculous! Anna did get better over time, Sinclair was lovely though if a bit cliché. You've got to love him though don't you. I think people just hyped it up a bit too much for me to be honest. Lola and the Boy Next Door looks quite good though.

  • I've heard so much about this book but I'm still not convinced I'll like it. I think it seems a lot like nothing is going to happen - I have a simlilar feeling about The Sky is Everywhere - so many good reviews but such a boring synopsis. I do ruddy bloody love Paris though.

  • @OpheliaDagger I know how you feel; you're thinking that since everyone likes the book it must be generic. And since it doesn't seem to have a huge event, it probably wont be that interesting, but believe me, you should read this book. If you even slightly like YA romance, read it. And the fact that you love Paris... I don't know why you haven't read this book yet ! It will make you love Paris even more ! Have you been to Paris?

  • @BooksUnbound I'm not really in to romance, and I'm only on the John Green YA band wagon [save Hunger Games and HP] I think it's difficult to negotiate between the usual YA fiction which tends towards being a pointless trashy teenage romp, and something really enriching. Yes! I have been to Paris! It is wonderful [living in England it's easy to pop over for a weekend]. I really want to go to the Shakespeare and Company book shop... one day :)

  • @OpheliaDagger I see your predicament ! I still think that if you are ever looking for a lovely romance, you should check this book out, but I know what you mean; it's difficult to navigate through pointless YA and good YA. You are so lucky to live so close to so many awesome places ! I also really want to go to Shakespeare and Company !

  • I got it from the library yesterday, I started reading it in the library and I finished it yesterday in 4 hours! I really loved it!

  • @transparentjellyj RIGHT? It's so good ! I read it in one sitting as well ! You just can't put it down !

  • I agree that it puts you in a good mood. I let my friend borrow it a couple months ago and every time I see her I ask if she's tried it yet. She's afraid of the cover! lol I told her if she doesn't read it I will make her sit in a chair and I will READ it to her.

  • @TheEvangelineLily I completely agree; the cover is not good. I mean it's cute, but it makes it look like every other YA novel out there ! MAKE SURE SHE READS IT !
