  • I truly believe David J. Burocrat err, Bradley is using OTA funds to "buy" laws ( speed limiters, road trains, H.O.S regs), topping up McGuilty's re election campain. Im waiting for the day O.T.A reps will be at Ont scales, taking names of small carriers as they get SELECTIVLEY pulled in for "inspection". "Good day driver, Im w/ the OTA, and we noticed ,you dont have a valid OTA sticker on youre truck..........why not????"

  • Maybe this is a good idea. Sure there are pro's and con's but maybe thr trucking companies can hire real quality drivers instead of being forced to hire some of unprofessional imported drivers we see going down our roads. Every industries try to run as lean and cost effective as possible. Why should the trucking industry be any different. As for safety, make the drivers take a special course with an endorsement showing it. There are speed restrictions on regular tractor trailers also now. JMHO

  • we have lots of them in maitoba bison and gradwine use them lots on the way to wininpeg in say 34 of them once

  • Hey buddy, i'm wondering if those would be seen in around the GTA. I havent seen a Road Train with 2 53' trailers. I see trucks with 2 28' trailers, but where in Ontario can we see them? Do they unhook those somewhere before they get closer to Toronto?

  • In the UK we built upwards, and you will find double decker trailers running all over the country ..52 skids...one driver, the same reason as over there...MONEY, for the man.

Our double deck trailers will roll on corners at 12mph!

    Good luck mate.

  • There aren't enough rest areas along the 401 as it is and they aren't designed for road trains. When they start building new rest areas the OTA better pay 100% of the bill. I don't want my tax dollars going to benefit only the OTA. There are a lot of O/O who could probably benefit from this program and they are being excluded.

  • What's the problem? Road Trains save money, unless there is a scam regarding maintenance ( over pushing the tractor ), I dont see the bad thing about that idea. I see those in New York State all the time cruising on the "Thruway". Never had a problem with that.

  • Australia has 3, 4 and 5 trailer roadtrains and its normal for us.

  • Yes, and they aren't an issue in regions where there is less traffic. In Ontario, the 400 series highways have some of the highest volume of traffic in North America.

  • @rolandholder we dont give a fuck about australia and yes we fucking no you haul more traillers then us last time i checked there was no bridge from australia to notrh america

  • With speed limiters on these beasts, imagine the carnage of backlogs. Also imagine the clean up when one of these flips over, and the death that will follow. Scary. Next they will want Mexican driver teams up here.
