  • "La bikina" appears on the 1968 México Olympic Games conmemorative Mariachi Vargas de tecatitlán compilation, dated 1968. And Herp Alpert record is dated 1969. Also "La bikina" appears in "the genius of esquivel" dated 1967. In some music sheets the author appears as Alexander F. Roth as in Herp Albert's record, and in others as Ruben Fuentes Gasson. Apparently Alexander F. Roth was a pen Name of Ruben Fuentes.

  • Efectivamente esta canción es del mexicano Rubén Fuentes y se llama "Buenos dias señor sol" y era un instrumental hasta que se le puso letra y se le llamó La bikina.

  • Did he copy this from La Bikina or did La Bikina borrow off Heb Alpert?

  • ``La Bikina`` song

  • I believe that was comedian Jack Burns at the beginning. Man, that is one warped looking pier.

  • Esta canción se llama la vikina

  • Beautiful Mexican song !!!

  • thanks for posting the video , first time hearing it and i like it..

  • Welcome back, Gooch! :-)

I've always enjoyed this tune. It's great to finally see the video that's associated with it.

Your other recent clips are also greatly appreciated.

I imagine it won't be long before we see Herb and John Pisano working together on their arrangement of Moon River.

    I can hear Herb now...

"It might work as a shuffle, though..."

"Oooo. Too bad we don't have a rhythm section..."

    "Strings would be nice..."
