There's nothing better about Macs. They're less powerful, less versatile, more expensive, always 1-2 years behind current technologies, with shitty software support (unless you use Bootcamp, the Mac life-saver) and consistently get beaten to death by PCs that cost $700-$1000 less, which......coincidentally, have MUCH better hardware.

Uh, SoldierKnowsBest, I am a huge Mac fan and I play games on my Mac, just don't try doing this. I mean, unless it's i7 processor with Nvidia 7Billion and like 19 gigs of RAM, Crysis is a bitch. Macbook Pros are good for more reasonable things like Black Ops, TF2, Bad Company 2, etc. For most people, Pros are a good choice for life, work, and gaming, because most people don't give a crap about Crysis.But Macs definitely can't play those.

Not surprising. If I had to run Crysis at those meager settings and that framerate, I would uninstall the game and wait another 5 or 6 years for Apple to come out with a line refresh that would allow me to go back and play it at High settings at 1680x1050.
C'mon!! Even the top-tier Mac pro couldn't play COD4 at anything more than 30FPS at 1680x1050!
I have both MAC, and PC, MAC is for work, and PC is for games, because it runs much better in PC. But as for work, i prefer to use my MAC. Overall though, I use pc much more than my MAC..

Also people who complain about viruses on their PCs really need to wise up. I've never had a virus on my PC, nor has it crashed or frozen. That's because I take care of it(don't visit sketchy websites, don't click ads, occasional defrags) and I also buy quality parts for my computers.

my friend has a hp laptop for about $800 same specks as base macbook pro 15', bucks that is running the same game as you with the same settings and it preformed about the same. I checked the price for the base 15inch macbook pro and its $1700. Im not saying that they are horrible computers but they are seriously impractical for it for the price since apple charges a lot extra for the OS where the OS has almost nothing to do with gaming in performance. i would like to buy a mac but its expensive.
first of all-macs are just an expensive slow PC IF (!) you look at the gaming at them-e.g. SL vs 7 in graphic performance gives windows a lead but, in other productivity aspects SL is pretty dominating. check it on internet, do not believe me.
therefore do not buy a mac is you do not need it-i use PS and Aperture a lot, and i find apple products to be suitable for me, and even cheaper than PC that i would have to buy for that performance.
secondly, you are paying also for reliability etc...
exactly, there are also many other features like long lasting battery, quiet cooling, small size (width and mass), backlit keyboard, very good speakers... etc. i could be telling all of this through the whole day... i just did not say that last time, because i run out of character limit :D.
i am mac and for me they are the best (except gaming), but rest is just better -- macs are even the fastest PC that run windows :D... but this is a free market, and people may buy what suits them best...

I have both MAC, and PC, MAC is for work, and PC is for games, because it runs much better in PC. But as for work, i prefer to use my MAC. Overall though, I use pc much more than my MAC..

@h4x0y intel was paying them to NOT USE AMD. intel also got fin£d for that. intel and nvidia has offered COUSTUM SULUTIONS FOR MAC, if amd start doing the same thing apple will properly SWITH TO AMD.
remember that macbooks are expensive but still have the very best performance.

@adolf512 sounds scary. i know AMD and ATI are cooperating, nVidia and Intel arent. Apple seems to implement intel only, but doesnt seem to have a preference on the gpu's (imacs mostly ati, macboocs mostly nvidia).
kinda reminds me of the dissapointing fact that nvidia pays game developers to not only show the "nvidia the way its meant to be played" logo but also for creating isnase gfx so that customers frequently buy new gpu's.

to be fair you're on a laptop, FPS is somewhere between 9-20 i'm guessing, so it's okay if you're not expecting too much.
Just don't make videos to encourage mac users to add to their list of "Stupid things to shout at every non-Mac user"
Currently the latest on that list from "mac is 100% virus-safe", is "Games run 10x faster on OSX."

@ImperialArmour he's not trying to show that games run BETTER on a Mac, just that they run just as good. You have to remember, this is on a LAPTOP. Crysis is the biggest resource eater out there. SKB is showing that this game is playable on a Macbook Pro and the graphics still look nice. Try running that on a high-end iMac and it'll scream.

How is he encouraging Mac users to make ignorant statements about Mac OSX? He's demonstrating that Crysis can be run, nothing more. If its fake, it's fake. As for the FPS, where can you validate this statement? I find it hard to believe that you can tell FPS from his video. Your generalization of Mac users is incorrect; most of us know what we're doing, and _to an extent_ the statements you said that are on "the list" are true, except games would run faster due to hardware, not OSX itself.

Also people who complain about viruses on their PCs really need to wise up. I've never had a virus on my PC, nor has it crashed or frozen. That's because I take care of it(don't visit sketchy websites, don't click ads, occasional defrags) and I also buy quality parts for my computers.
I also considered Mac OSX, but I really don't have a use for it considering my PC does everything I've needed it to.

After reading a bunch of these comments I don't understand why some people pull facts out of their asses on both sides. I read comments from PC fans saying "oh, a $600 desktop could max out Crysis". Then I read comments from Mac fans saying "the fastest windows PCs are Macs". Both are blatant lies. The fastest Windows PCs are PCs due to their more customizable nature. PCs have Crossfirex, SLI, huge Raid 0 arrays of SSDs with overclocked, liquid cooled processors. But, it won't be cheap.

no i sorry but your mac book is to weak, it will look like shit especially cause its a mac, 2.4ghz is enough, 9400m is the shittest laptop gpu of 2009 according to notebook gpu scorelist, not even a 17inch maxed otu mac book can run this game on high, it is configured for pc's, if you ever want to play this game and want it to look good buy an alienware otherwise enjoy a thin waste of money which can barely run any games xD

A computer is a waste of money if it can't run one the most graphically demanding games? Mac's really aren't formatted to run games, and with that in mind, they do it extremely well. And alienware? please. those things are a fucking pile of garbage. I love PC's just as much as the next guy, but for the love of god don't buy an Alienware, unless you want HORRIBLE customer support and a shoddy warranty.

ya know.. im a Windows fan ive used the mac OS and just dosent feel right to me. BUT i do love the results you get from final cut pro..and other MAC Proprietary software, saw some videos of windows 7 running on a mac and now i want one. my biggest fear was that i would get a mac and not like the OS and only use it from time to time for video editing, that's not the issue anymore :D besides i have a beast of a desktop for windows lol...just no good video software..and i have tried them all :(

my friend has a hp laptop for about $800 same specks as base macbook pro 15', bucks that is running the same game as you with the same settings and it preformed about the same. I checked the price for the base 15inch macbook pro and its $1700. Im not saying that they are horrible computers but they are seriously impractical for it for the price since apple charges a lot extra for the OS where the OS has almost nothing to do with gaming in performance. i would like to buy a mac but its expensive.

first of all-macs are just an expensive slow PC IF (!) you look at the gaming at them-e.g. SL vs 7 in graphic performance gives windows a lead but, in other productivity aspects SL is pretty dominating. check it on internet, do not believe me.
therefore do not buy a mac is you do not need it-i use PS and Aperture a lot, and i find apple products to be suitable for me, and even cheaper than PC that i would have to buy for that performance.
secondly, you are paying also for reliability etc...

exactly, there are also many other features like long lasting battery, quiet cooling, small size (width and mass), backlit keyboard, very good speakers... etc. i could be telling all of this through the whole day... i just did not say that last time, because i run out of character limit :D.
i am mac and for me they are the best (except gaming), but rest is just better -- macs are even the fastest PC that run windows :D... but this is a free market, and people may buy what suits them best...
