@Stophunting Why do you people always anthropomorphise animals ?. I use terriers simply because IMO it's THE only human method of control. I let the terrier into the earth, i dig down to the barking and decide whether it lives or dies (my mistake..pre ban) lol. Ever since your silly little law got past i now "HAVE TO" kill every fox i dig !!, so much for animal welfare.
@busterdog11768 You "decide whether it lives or dies"? Who are you to play God?! Fox hunting is pathetic - how can you get a thrill from killing something?
@LeanneKing87 There is no prisoners with the rifle and when i shoot a fox it's right between the eyes "up close and personal", if you can't see the benifit of that then there's no helping you lol. The one thing i'm 100% sure of is when you and me are both 6ft under there will still be foxes being culled.
@busterdog11768 It's not a cull, though. It's sad, little men getting kicks from killing something. It's pathetic. The fact you cover it up with all sorts of bull about population control, disease control, pest control etc. shows you know it to be bull and that the majority of society just doesn't go in for these kinds of past times anymore. If you're "up close and personal" then you've done something to either trap it or maim it before hand, because you can't get that close to a wild fox. Sad.
@LeanneKing87 My grammar and punctuation may not be great Leanne but its a better than his/hers and he/she is only just out of school! Not that it really bothers me, as I said before it was just a gentle ribbing. Studies and surveys mean very little. Data can be manipulated to make it say what you want. I live and work in the countryside and am basing what I said on my own experience and observations. Beleive it or not I used to lecture at a college and one of the subjects I used to teach was?
You would say that considering the facts and figures do not lend support to fox hunting having any other purpose than to satiate some kind of sick blood-thirst in the hunt members.
"Beleive it or not I used to lecture at a college and one of the subjects I used to teach was?" I actually choose not to BELIEVE it, you can probably see why. Either that or the quality of the college couldn't have been very high...
@LeanneKing87 So, since you were 14 you've not only done G.C.S.E.s, A levels and a Degree but also had at least 5 jobs! The timescale alone suggests that you cannot have held any of these positions for long enough to gain any in depth experience. "the aftermath of the hunt on the foxes that get away", what would this be exactly? "Cared for cubs orphaned by the hunt". I find this very difficult to beleive as most packs stopped hunting before cubs were born, with only a few, mainly upland hunts
@LeanneKing87 carrying on until May 1st doing lambing calls. I would say, who the survey is bankrolled by can seriously cloud the outcome, as you would no doubt claim if results went against you're beleifs. Beleive it or not I did lecture for 5 years. You dont beleive me because my opinions are different from yours. Whilst I was teaching there we won the title of "Best land based college" two years on the run and won the contract to provide training to National Trust employees. Hardly poor.
@LeanneKing87 Wildlife management! At the ripe old age of 24 you of course will have a vast amount of practical experience. And by the way, if your being picky, its "pastimes", not "past times". University education, its a wonderful thing.
@DERKIFAL *It's. Actually it can be both and considering I've been involved in wildlife/conservation/animal related disciplines in some form or other since I was 14, I'd say yes, I have got a considerable amount of practical experience. I've worked in stables, animal homes, wildlife rescue, conservation and even a small zoo. I've dealt with the aftermath of the hunt on the foxes that get away, cared for cubs orphaned by the hunt & seen the injuries often suffered by the hounds used in the hunt.
@LeanneKing87 What bit about digging out don't you understand, i dig to my dog and the fox is right there in front of her "up close and personal", i don't need to cover anything up, twenty eight years ago i got my first terrier and i could dig 70 + foxes a year, now with the arrival of the rifle i'm lucky to dig twenty in a year, do the maths, i'm one man, times that by many thousands and you've got the difference between killing the right fox on the farm or estate that it doing the damage on.
@Stophunting Ilive in england same as you. If you bothered to check the defra website you would discover that there is an exemption in the hunting act which allows the use of terriers. You are 17 and studied animal care so I take it you did a NVQ or BTEC 1st diploma, this does not make you David attenborough.
@DERKIFAL There are so many grammatical errors in this post, yet you rib Stophunting for the ones in his/her posts? Ever heard of removing the plank from your own eye before commenting on the splinter in another's?
As for NVQs or BTECs not being good enough for you, how about you take me on with my degree in animal behaviour, during which I studied wildlife management? Convince me that what you do isn't just sick blood sport. Go on, I dare you.
@Stophunting "Dont talk to me like that"? You called me" dumb shit " in one of your earlier posts for stating the truth so I think a liittle ribbing about you're age is small beer in comparison. You are 17, (or at least thats what it says on you're profile). What gender you are doesnt matter. If you are 17 I hope you are at college to correct you're horrific grammar and punctuation. When you wake up from you're nap you might like to reply wth some facts or reasoned argument instead. Love you xx
@DERKIFAL Can I just say, in the same post you've patronised Stophunting for grammar & punctuation, you have yourself made basic grammatical errors. You've used "you're" instead of "your" - TWICE. In addition, the inverted commas around "dumb shit" are in the wrong place. Furthermore, you lack the necessary comma between "truth" and "so", "17" and "I" as well as "nap" and "you". You've also put a double i in "liittle" as well as unnecessary parentheses in sentence two. Nice one. College, anyone?
@fredfurn123 Haha! "Unemployed losers" Quite the opposite actually. I've worked since I was 17, even through Uni I held a part time job. People I consider at the losing end are those who get some kind of gratification from the killing of an innocent creature.
@Stophunting Definateley passed your bedtime now. Check the Defra website and then tell me im wrong . Its there in black and white. Dont think anyones going to be scared of your nerf gun!
@Stophunting Who trespassed? I think youve got the wrong end of the stick. I think you will find if you check your facts that using a terrier to bolt a fox to be dispatched with a firearm is perfectly legal! Must be passed your bedtime now, off you go, dont want you all grumpy in the morning do we!
@peter4190 Well, that just shows what kind of "man" you are, doesn't it? I think there's something vitally important missing from your life, if you get what I mean? Something's sure making you angry and frustrated...
@juteboxjaws You reckon? Puppy mills have finally been outlawed. Hopefully the disgusting way you treat greyhounds will be next. Watch out, Ireland is being forced to tighten up on animal welfare, whether it likes it or not.
I don't understand fox hunting. I really don't. To spend one's free time chasing, tormenting, and causing to be torn apart into bloody chunks a non-threatening animal --- sick, just sick.
@DERKIFAL fortunatly im not filled with hate, that would be a waste of a good life. Have a problem with land ownership, as it is, i think, at the heart of inequality in Britain today. I'm a coppice worker so i work in small well managed woodland. In this county most land is owned by estates, the dutchy or the church, which i object too. As for hunting, without the toffs, you fellas would be arrested for tresspass unless you own the land, the dogs and the horses.
@tcp1228 Pre ban, cubhunting, foxes were killed. End of. Stalkers might say it would be "unlikely" to wound a fox but even the best shot cannot gaurentee a kill for all the reasons i mentioned before.Speaking to a gamekeeper last summer, a "good shot" as well, he said he had shot at a fox and at the last second it moved, he hit it but it ran away. He looked for it with his gun dog but failed to find it.The next day whilst feeding pheasants his dog began to bark. When he went to look he found
@tcp1228 the fox. curled up in a rotten tree stump, barely alive, with one of its front legs hanging on by a thread. If you think that is humane then im sorry but ill opt for "cruelty" every time. You still have this notion of "toffs"? Where i live all the farms are privateley owned ( most of them) and the farmers have the say wether were allowed on or not. We have a hunt country which is about 25 miles by 15 and i can think of 7 farmers who dont let us on.By the way tresspass is a civil offence
@tcp1228 I think you need to check the laws a little better, i've been digging them for twenty odd years and i'll be digging them for another twenty. If i was at that dig you'de of had a slap, get a life
@busterdog11768 Yes, so much common sense that you press the "post" button six times for the same comment and apparently don't even have the most basic grasp of grammar. It really is people like you holding Britain afloat these days isn't it? Glad I left, to be honest, with such uneducated jocks as you running around the countryside, killing innocent animals.
@LeanneKing87 Do you lot always have to turn to personal insults when you can't argue your point ? I may not have got myself a wall full of degrees but i've got a whole life full of experience.
@busterdog11768 That's rich considering your earlier comment of "If i was at that dig you'de of had a slap, get a life" - rather hypocritical, don't you think? At least I don't threaten violence on someone - but maybe it's not surprising you resort to such tactics given your hobbies. I also have a whole life full of experiences - my life so far has been full of experiences, you can't have any more or any less really. Moot point.
@DERKIFAL i dont really understand your point about vixens, you seem to be showing compassion, but cub hunting is, to me, barbaric. Yes, shooting and wounding a fox would be crap, but, as i said, stalkers i know say it would be unlikely. My point is, its better to shoot it than to chase it for miles then set dogs on it.
@tcp1228 Derik, it's not that simple mate, there's so many things that decide whether a fox gets dug in the first place. Contrary to popular belief we aren't a bunch of hooligans running around trying to murder everything we come across. I also stalk deer and lamp for fox and again IMO terriers are by far the best option when copared to rifles. I've dug foxes with there legs shot through, jaws blown off and with massive wounds on them.
@DERKIFAL im a forestry contractor from rural Somerset, you must know some really crap stalkers if you think being ripped apart by dogs is preferable to being shot
@tcp1228 No one, no matter how good a shot they are can gaurentee a kill, if they say they can they are a liar. There are so many variables, terrain, wind and other weather conditions, wether the animal has been lamped before etc. Plus the fact that a lot of people that control foxes by shooting do not observe a closed season so they will shoot foxes in the summer when vixens are nursing cubs and the cubs will starve to death with hounds they have a a chance and theres no risk of wounding
@DERKIFAL Rather than come with rediculous reasons and excuses you should just admit you enjoy killing animals. The whole 'controlling fox numbers' excuse was dropped by the hunt masters in a study done by Oxford uni. They admitted that it's pure and simple a tradional country pursuit. As was badger baiting at one time, do you condone that as a means of controlling bovine TB?
@DERKIFAL And as for not being a toff, William Cobbet said "when farmers became gentalmen their labourers bacame slaves" It's just a shame that some slaves, like yourself, choose to side with ruling class land owning scum, rather than stand with the working class against these parasites.
@tcp1228 Since when have not wounding foxes and not shooting nursing vixens been ridiculous? You seem convinced that we still live in victorian times. In reality very little land belongs to large country estates anymore, these large estates bieng split up years ago to pay death duties. If your a forestry contractor you must end up working for some "ruling class land owning scum" ? or you wouldnt get much work!
@tcp1228 Your blind hatred of the supposed ruling classes seems to make you ignore any opinion differing from your own. You have not replied to any of my comments about wounding etc with any coherent answer. In reality people who hunt come from all classes and backgrounds. I think your bile about hunting and the people who do it is based purely on class. It must drag you down to be filled with so much hate all the time.
@DERKIFAL sorry ive been out earning a living all day rather than sponging off the hard work of others. Yes youre right its as much about pissing of you toffs and your sad cronies as much as saving our wildlife.
@tcp1228 Im no "toff", most of my family have been farm workers or miners and I am a self employed tree surgeon so that rather pisses on your chips on that account. As for "saving our wildlife" far more foxes are bieng killed since the hunting ban, mostly by shooting which carries the risk of wounding and a lingering death from gangrene so your not really "saving" anything.
@DERKIFAL Far more foxes being killed? Actually, studies and surveys have shown that the population of foxes has stayed constant since the introduction of the hunting ban - in laymen's terms, their numbers have neither gone up nor down. Conclusion? Hunting, at least with dogs, doesn't do anything for population control.
@tcp1228 Not got a chip on your shoulder or anything then? Didnt hear any "upper crust " accents amongst the hunt supporters. Bet your a nice middle class boy really, rebelling until you finnish uni and become a accountant. Proving once again its all about hating people and not loving animals!
fair play you "sabs" are nothing but aload of scumbags, you say in your description u prevented an "illegal" digout yet the law its self disagreed, oh and i noticed i only saw one side here who had to cover there faces, final thing is you say you waited there all day, maybe if u got off your asses and got a job instead of just causing trouble for honest people who are controlling vermin the country wouldnt be in such an economical mess
@AGoldenEgg So many faults. Firstly, the grammar; learn how to use punctuation, it's really quite simple. The reason hunt sabs now cover their faces is because in the past they have faced repercussions and retributions from hunt members, including physical attacks. That shows just the kind of people who go on these hunts. Why do all pro-hunt people think sabs DON'T have jobs? I've sabbed and I've had a job since I was 17, even through university. Finally, foxes are not classed as vermin.
What would have been illeagal about a dig if it had gone ahead? As long as the holes had been netted and the fox dispatched with a firearm nothing. Then you wonder why people get pissed off and give you a slap when you try and prevent a lawful act taking place. You try to pretend your all sweetness and light, "we dont want any trouble" and the next minute its "do you want us at the kennels"? Whats that all about? You are no better than facists, trying to impose your will on others.
Id love to slit ur fuck anti throats u bunch of pricks hunting is never gonna stop foxes are still gonna be killed every day by me and alot of other people GET OVER IT ha ha ha ha

I also have a whole life full of experiences - my life so far has been full of experiences, you can't have any more or any less really. Moot point.

@busterdog11768 Perhaps i was making a point
busterdog11768 1 month ago

@DERKIFAL im a forestry contractor from rural Somerset, you must know some really crap stalkers if you think being ripped apart by dogs is preferable to being shot
tcp1228 2 months ago
@tcp1228 No one, no matter how good a shot they are can gaurentee a kill, if they say they can they are a liar. There are so many variables, terrain, wind and other weather conditions, wether the animal has been lamped before etc. Plus the fact that a lot of people that control foxes by shooting do not observe a closed season so they will shoot foxes in the summer when vixens are nursing cubs and the cubs will starve to death with hounds they have a a chance and theres no risk of wounding
DERKIFAL 2 months ago
@DERKIFAL Rather than come with rediculous reasons and excuses you should just admit you enjoy killing animals. The whole 'controlling fox numbers' excuse was dropped by the hunt masters in a study done by Oxford uni. They admitted that it's pure and simple a tradional country pursuit. As was badger baiting at one time, do you condone that as a means of controlling bovine TB?

@DERKIFAL And as for not being a toff, William Cobbet said "when farmers became gentalmen their labourers bacame slaves" It's just a shame that some slaves, like yourself, choose to side with ruling class land owning scum, rather than stand with the working class against these parasites.
tcp1228 2 months ago
@tcp1228 Since when have not wounding foxes and not shooting nursing vixens been ridiculous? You seem convinced that we still live in victorian times. In reality very little land belongs to large country estates anymore, these large estates bieng split up years ago to pay death duties. If your a forestry contractor you must end up working for some "ruling class land owning scum" ? or you wouldnt get much work!
DERKIFAL 2 months ago
@tcp1228 Your blind hatred of the supposed ruling classes seems to make you ignore any opinion differing from your own. You have not replied to any of my comments about wounding etc with any coherent answer. In reality people who hunt come from all classes and backgrounds. I think your bile about hunting and the people who do it is based purely on class. It must drag you down to be filled with so much hate all the time.

@tcp1228 Deer, deer Derik, now your showing your true colours RED RED RED LOL
busterdog11768 1 month ago
@DERKIFAL sorry ive been out earning a living all day rather than sponging off the hard work of others. Yes youre right its as much about pissing of you toffs and your sad cronies as much as saving our wildlife.
tcp1228 2 months ago
@tcp1228 Im no "toff", most of my family have been farm workers or miners and I am a self employed tree surgeon so that rather pisses on your chips on that account. As for "saving our wildlife" far more foxes are bieng killed since the hunting ban, mostly by shooting which carries the risk of wounding and a lingering death from gangrene so your not really "saving" anything.
DERKIFAL 2 months ago
@DERKIFAL Far more foxes being killed? Actually, studies and surveys have shown that the population of foxes has stayed constant since the introduction of the hunting ban - in laymen's terms, their numbers have neither gone up nor down. Conclusion? Hunting, at least with dogs, doesn't do anything for population control.

Respect to Sabs, Fuck those work shy parasitic hunt scum and their sick inbred ways.
tcp1228 2 months ago
@tcp1228 Not got a chip on your shoulder or anything then? Didnt hear any "upper crust " accents amongst the hunt supporters. Bet your a nice middle class boy really, rebelling until you finnish uni and become a accountant. Proving once again its all about hating people and not loving animals!

Nice one Northern Sabs! Respect goes out to you for standing your ground!
jammy343 2 months ago
fair play you "sabs" are nothing but aload of scumbags, you say in your description u prevented an "illegal" digout yet the law its self disagreed, oh and i noticed i only saw one side here who had to cover there faces, final thing is you say you waited there all day, maybe if u got off your asses and got a job instead of just causing trouble for honest people who are controlling vermin the country wouldnt be in such an economical mess
AGoldenEgg 2 months ago
@AGoldenEgg So many faults. Firstly, the grammar; learn how to use punctuation, it's really quite simple. The reason hunt sabs now cover their faces is because in the past they have faced repercussions and retributions from hunt members, including physical attacks. That shows just the kind of people who go on these hunts. Why do all pro-hunt people think sabs DON'T have jobs? I've sabbed and I've had a job since I was 17, even through university. Finally, foxes are not classed as vermin.
LeanneKing87 1 month ago
Well done Northern sabs - you are very brave standing up to those bullies.
cathysorbo444 2 months ago
What a bunch of horrible, sad gits. All coming along to kill a fox as if it's the highlight of their week. Well done sabs!
emjclarke 2 months ago
What would have been illeagal about a dig if it had gone ahead? As long as the holes had been netted and the fox dispatched with a firearm nothing. Then you wonder why people get pissed off and give you a slap when you try and prevent a lawful act taking place. You try to pretend your all sweetness and light, "we dont want any trouble" and the next minute its "do you want us at the kennels"? Whats that all about? You are no better than facists, trying to impose your will on others.
