I was actually was looking for a great beginner guitar with nothing over $200. I know the price range isn't very wide, and I know it may be hard to find a quality instrument, but what do you recommend?
And should I look for a solid top guitar rather than a guitar with a laminated top?
I'd rather buy a quality guitar and have it last, rather than having to buy a new one soon.
The F335 has a Laminated Spruce top, that I think sounds great and will last because its made by Yamaha, but for under $200 I suggest the Yamaha FG700s. REALLY big sound, solid Sitka top, and regular sized fretboard. You see, the F335 is narrower and a little harder to play for big hands, better for kids or girls with small hands. FG700s is standard size. You can get them at Best Buy right now for $180, I HIGHLY recommend it over the F335.
I was just looking at this guitar on MusiciansFriend, and I looked at all the wonderful reviews. This is truly a wonderfully toned instrument! Especially at the most convenient price!
But may I ask: what strings did you have on for this tone on the video?
i dont know if its just me or my room or my guitar but to me it seems like this guitar is abnormally loud (i own this also)

@EpiphoneLPJrGuitar Lots of preamp mixers and DAWs allow you to add reverb either real time or after the recording.

@andr3wbr1an I use John Pearse Phosphor Bronze gauge 13. They sound good for about 3 weeks or so.

@TyronePaulWarren do you think changing them will make mine not dull and looser?

I use John Pearse phosphor bronze gauge 13 strings. I love them to death, best strings for acoustic in my opinion.
