  • I know this video is dated and the information is still good but there are a few other things to consider. You have to do more keyword research than just going to google and stripping the keywords you find. you need to know how easy or hard it will be to rank for that keyword, is it a buying keyword? in other words whats going through the searchers mind when he types this word into google, is he looking to purchase or looking for information? big differance!

  • Those are the basics, yep! You can actually eliminate one step you're doing by just clicking the 'Download all keywords; text' link at the bottom of the Google keyword report. No need to filter them through Excel. Of course, having the list in Excel gives you the opportunity to do some better number crunching, of course, but it's easier to just go text to whatever domain registration service you want to use.
