I have been along long long time fan of kansas..I'm 41. I have never seen this video before..I am moved! It takes me back to a kinder and gentler day in my youth! They did this 2-3 years before MTV took off. Wow!!! God bless Kansas!
This was a good song, but far from the best on Monolith, which lacked the cohesive tight and energetic songs that Point of Know Return and Leftoverture, that skyrocketed Kansas to international fame, had. Monolith didn't have the same spirit, and it marked the point where Steve and Kerry stopped writing songs together (4 apiece on this album)....the Monolith live concert, on the other hand was a very good one. Steve still had the great voice.
All you knuckle heads posting your religious views should keep them to yourself. What a top band. Still love them. Dont care who became a christian or any of that stuff, just love the music and the depth of the lyrics. Religion is a personal thing so keep it to yourselves. This is a music clip for christs sake....whoops.....I mean its just a music video of a nice song.......long live KANSAS
FYI: From their 1979 album "Monolith"- which followed the platinum-selling "Point Of Know Return" & "Two For The Show"(live) albums. Monolith's album cover was a rather strange theme, pertaining to the Cheyenne Indian "Ghost Dance Chant" and return of the Native Americans after the white man has dissapeared. Produced one moderate hit single- "People Of The Southwind".
I could see where after this video , they all said "OK. I think that 's enough. We're done." And they all wnet ther separate ways. One of the worst videos ever. What a way for the record company to ruin it for a band. Make 'em do a horrible video.
@herda5@herda5 in 1979 all videos were crap. MTV didn't even exist yet. They made these videos to promote the album and you'd see them on various TV variety shows. They made another album after this with the same lineup, and then Steve Walsh left the band, to return a few years later. Despite personnel changes the band never broke up, and they still record and tour.
Give the fact that Kerry Livgren became a "born again" christian & wrote many of the songs, I think religious overtones can be inferred in the songs. We can have a war here but I don't think it's what he wanted. I choose to listen to the words & not cast judgment because if words are full of love & understanding, who is to say that the words are wrong? It doesn't matter which religion they are written in, I believe we are all here for a short time. Judging is ez, understanding is hard

I wish to invite you to the House of Islam in peace. There are five pillars:
1: Testify that there is NO god worthy of worship except Allah, who is the creator who created all that begun to exist, and that Muhammad is His prophet and servant.
Pillar 2: Worship Allah 5 times a day.
3: Distribute 2.5% of our excess wealth to the poor
4: Fast during the month of Ramadhan to practice self decipline

Dear Friend Peace be upon you, I am just sharing Islam with my brothers n sisters in humanity. Allah is in Arabic and God is in English. If you r a native American, you wud call Him Manitou. We use the Arabic word Allah. it is a pure word n cannot be played around wth. U can turn word God into god (fake God), Gods (more thn 1), godesses (female), tin-god, god father etc. Dear Friend, i wish to invite you and your family to the house of Islam in peace.
No thanks, I'll remain a Catholic and I will always call him God (His real name) and I wasn't to happy with your comment because this is a music video and people shouldn't bring religion into everything because unfortunately it turns into arguments and fights a lot.
Actually God and Allah are the same. Islam and Christianity have a lot of the same. People of the Islamic faith actualy believe in Jesus as a prophet. Bet u didn't know that. By saying God is real and Allah isn't is like saying God is real but God isn't. Anyway my point is don't judge so soon.
Allah is a myth and god is a myth. Religion is the biggest hoax in history. All religions are a creation of uneducated people who simply guessed, lied, imagined, made up the religious stories for various reasons. People are so brainwashed by religions it is amazing. If you can see that other religions are a lie then you should also see that your religion is a lie. Stop lying to yourself and to others by claiming something is true that you have absolutely no proof for.
@supercow506 allah is not a god at all! islam is merely a composite of various religions of which mohammed heard. although allah is arabic for god, there is no similarities. that is why muslims know of christian and jewish ppls.
@visitor4400 Yes you are right. Just like Christianity. Or have you forgot that Christianity is derived from the religious beliefs that came before it as was Judaism.

Allah? He looks absolutely nothing like His creation. He is the One, The Only, The Absolute, The Eternal, He begets not, nor is He begotten, and there is none like unto Him (Q:112). He is ancient having no beginning, He is everlasting having no end. Quran also declares Allah is the Noor (The Light) of the Heavens and the Earth. Just like His knowledge permeates everything, so does His Light; penetrates everything. Energy? If it created all tht begun to exist, thn I too believe in tht energy.

I love Kansas, but this album really sucked ass...

Huh, I think it's their best album but it's your opinion I guess.

Wow, Rich really didn't want to go anywhere without a tux back in the day, huh? ah, the early days of music videos. Watch out Kansas! That guy with the horned hat is following you. You must destroy the Ring soon or else your lead singer will disappear after the next album! oops, too late.

Walsh looks a little like Jim Morrison here. What a voice.

How much did it cost to rent Carlsbad Caverns?? And did they get their deposit back after the crew had to clean out all of the smoke? Ehart had a cool hat didn't he?
