  • This picture is artistic and should be used on your other videos as well. Cheers!!!

  • @iplayslow Dear UJ: Thanks for the compliment. I like this picture too, only afraid it'd be too boring if used multiple times, but I'd like to follow this kind of suggestions from you, hehe

  • Dear Sabrina.

It's me Makim.Oh my, lovely lovely cover of Teresa's original Japanese song.I'm really stunned by your pretty pretty rendition.I love it love it.Wow,you are a great singer. You brought me wonderful warm feelings with the song.Thumbs Up & *****stars.

  • @112makim Hi Makim: Very happy to see you are visiting my other songs here, and I'm so grateful to receive such wonderful compliments that truly warmed my heart :)

  • Thank you!

  • Thanks for sharing this! I enjoyed it!

  • Remarkable! Really! What nationality is you ?

  • @Brakballe Thanks! I came from China living in the US

  • I love listening to this song. May you keep singing forever.

  • Great song! Good job. TT sang the original. Yuquan is brilliant!

  • Pretty good!

  • 100/200

    ugly voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • At first, I was very confused. It sounded like Chinese, but I couldn't understand it... Then I saw it was Japanese! XDXD;;

Other then the mispronounciations, (It sounds A LOT like Amoy... MinNanHua) it was really pretty sounding. (:

  • wow! fantastic!!

    beautiful voice

  • how can anyone rate this version less than a 5?

  • Your version is awesome!

  • I'm brazilian Teresa Teng fan and I think you have an exceptionally nice voice. Congratulations! Sorry my poor english. I understand something in japanese but not chinese, however I love your songs.

  • Wow wow vey nice

  • 100/100

  • it is a work of art!

The Best! Class!

  • I'm a TT fan, so it's no accident that I stumble across your channel. I'm immediately hooked by your remarkable singing.

I can't recall a main stream singer who emulates Teresa Teng for a living dares to do the ultimate- learn Japanese and sing TT's Japanese songs. You did it! You did it exceptionally well. Yet, you're not even a professional singer. WOW!!!

  • I'm encouraged and deeply flattered by your words. I haven't been able to sing at all for the past couple of months. I've just moved to a new place. I hope to have a new recording out soon.

  • completely agreed with gevalian, as a matter of fact Yuquan Chen sings far far better than lots of so called professional singer in HK, thanks Yuquan Chen delivered a beautiful song for us..........

  • Very nice.

  • 5 stars! keep it up!

  • I don't like your japanese songs, a bit noisy.

could that due to the background music?

Anyway, U are pretty and with such lovely voice. I love it, always.

    ☆☆☆☆☆

  • Whoever say your Japanese is no good doesn't know his Japanese. We can always improve off course. I believe you're excellent and your voice is superb! Someone should take you on professionally and make you a lot of money.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful gift of voice.

  • Nice voice.

  • YOur voice is pretty, but, the pronunciation isn't good. Effort more, perhaps, you'll be new TEresa Teng (deng li jun)

  • Beautiful! I could listen to your music all day and never get tired of your voice. Please make that cd. Many people love you. Best always: John

  • Thank you for your kindness always.

  • This is pretty good! I like it. Teresa will be proud. Listening to her songs really make me want to cry. She was the first musician I ever listened to. Its a shame she left...Anyways keep it up! -thumbs up-

  • Gai Shang ZhongYang DianShiTai

  • Just comming accross your videos, you are quite a talented singer with a beautiful voice. I enjoy the Deng LiJun songs you sing. If she were still with us, I think she would agree with me, that having the two of you sing together would be a good thing. If only----------All the best with your musical ventures.

    david.

  • David, I don't know what to say, but thank you!

  • Hi, Yuquan: Thank you, you can sing very well, anyway, i love your Jap's Enka, keep it up !

  • Good try. Teresa sang like she's singing only TO you. like we speak words. TT sings words with such intimacy and ease of control. so feminine and angelic face

  • Good job, Yu Chuan Chen. Good luck, try ur best there ;)

  • I will, thank you!

  • Pretty good. Just a couple of suggestions. You may consider not dragging out at the end of each line. While this shows your fundamental, this makes your singing a bit unnatural and monotonous. Singing is a way of communication. If you listen to Teresa you'll find she's like really talking softly to her lover. You may also think about creating a bit more variations and contrast by emphazising certain words and de-emphazising certain ones so your singing will contain more emotion.

  • Thank you very much for the suggestions. I'd definitely take them into account next time when I sing. Teresa's vibrations are perfect and it's not easy to sing like that. I often may have paid too much attention to all the tech details (it has been a long road to figure out things on my own). I can sing this song better now with more emotions and better technique. That is a progress I am happy with.

  • You did a great job already. As an old enough guy I have seen stars like Faye Wang and Sandy Lam first came out, and their singing at the beginning was actually quite bad (their live was particularly awful). Now they are both amazing. So you're actually having a very good start. Just keep up.

It's also not a bad thing once in a while listen & try a few English songs. It's not like they all sing better, but their way of singing may help you loosen up a bit.

    Good luck

  • Thank you for the encouragement. Getting professional help first hand would make huge difference in one's singing technique since those people know exactly what is the best for you. I wish I could get that kind of help, but I missed my golden opportunity :-)

  • It is never too late. Get some professional help and you'll be on your way!

  • everytime i listen to chinese song i feel like i'm in the paradise

  • Excellent and perfect Japanese. At first, I thought Teresa is singing.

Your breathing vibration is just like Teresa's.

You should come to Japan and sing Teresa songs.

  • Thank you for the kinds words, I'm flattered. Teresa's vibration is solid and perfect. I'm still not there yet but I'll keep trying. I'll sing more Japanese songs.

  • I Only Care About You

  • But I don't give two shits about you

  • hahaha

  • I am impress and I find your humility refreshing

your voice and your breathing are well paced and evenly regulated bringing forth a soothing effect

I like your singing and your voice

Ms Teng will indeed be proud of you , no doubt about that :)

  • There is no difference between professional singer & you. Have you participated any singing contest ? I think that is the path to be a professional singer.

  • Does anyone Know who composed this song. Was it Teresa Teng? Are there any scores available? Thany you.

  • The name of the composer is 三木たかし(Miki Takashi).

  • Thank you very much for such flattering & encouraging comments. I will sooner or later have live performing videos.

  • Sung with of feeling, different style as Teresa's but I like it, thank you.

  • Hi yuquan,

Thank you very much for loading this video clip. I enjoy it very much and you have a very good nice. As you may know that I love Teresa Teng's song particularly Japanese songs. Well done, keep up your good work. I am very impress by your voice. Excellent.

  • Yuquan

you have a very nice voice keep up the good work

  • Thank you!

  • You can do the tours in Chinatown restaurants !

    Deng Li Jin impersonator :)

  • Yuquan.

    It is a wonderful voice.

I thought it to be a professional singer at time when I listened for the first time.

    This music is very good.

  • Thank you :-)

  • Standley, I'm truly flattered. Though my ears would like to hear what you say, the fact is Teresa is too good for other singers to surpass. She was a unique pro with years of training and experience, I'm not, learning and figuring out everything on my own. I do sometimes wonder what would be the outcome IF I got the same opportunities since I was a child... But thank you so much for the kind words, it is a big encouragement regardless.

  • There is one thing that caught my mind though, that I thought you should know, although minor. I take japanese. You pronounce the "R" sounds like "L". You know, like 'To ki no na ga "le" ni mi o makase..." It was suppose to be 'Toki no naga "re" ni mio makase.' I know it's confusing. The japanese people pronounce their "R's" something in between R and L so it sounds like L... sorry I'm confusing you. Just letting you know... otherwise, pronounciation is all accurate. Keep it up!

  • This is the first song I can sing in japanese too! I love this song! Can you sing the mandarine version of it too? Your pronunciation is accurate.

  • What a coincidence! Glad you like it. I can sing it in mandarin one day but I have other things I have to do first. I'll keep it in mind. Thank you

  • Yuquan, you have a great voice and sing so nicely. I listened to your version of 'bridge over trouble water'and like it very much too. This is my first time to come across your videos. Are you a professional singer? Where are you from?

  • Thank you very much for the comments and for subscribing my videos. I'm not a pro singer at all, never had pro training or any related background. I figure out things on my own and improve over the time. I'm originally from Mainland China.

  • You are very talented. Keep doing it and you'll be successful..

  • Wow, your Japanese sounds great. If I heard it withou t knowing who is singing, I would swear it is sung by a Japanese woman. (Teresa's Japanse also sounds perfect.)

  • Thank you very much. That is really some encouragement that keeps me going for more. Planning to record Aijin as the next JP song, hope you'd come by and enjoy.

  • You're welcome. Aijin is nice. I'd also like to hear you sing Tsugunai.

  • Yes! I would love to hear Yuquan sing Tsugunai and Aijin. They are both very good songs and she has the talent to sing them perfectly.

  • OK. I understood that your song is wonderful while hearing it many times.

  • Thank you for listening to it many times. I appreciate your comment very much. Teresa and her songs are simply so amazing to all of us.

  • Teresa's song is more impressive for me.

  • the next teresa tebg for sure, thank u

  • Excellent!!!

  • Yuquan, you have the voice of an angel ... love every second of it... excellent !!!

  • I'm glad and flattered. Thank you!

  • amazing always!

  • Very good sound!!! Clear and touching voice as usual! I always feel honesty in your singing.

I added this to my favorites and also to my private video in my channel.

You know what I mean by "my private video".

Thank you so much for this wonderful sound and beautiful voice.

  • Superb! Are you sure you don't know Japanese? Amazing job.

  • I am Japanese.

Your pronunciation of Japanese is accurate.

    The song is also wonderful.

  • Thank you for confirming my pronunciation is accurate and I'm glad you like it. I know I shall continue to work hard for it to sounds more native.

  • Yuchun, your singing is even better than when you were a super star in USTC. I love it! Fei

  • Fei, glad to hear from you. I was really flattered when you use the name "super star". I didn't actually know how to sing back to then (xia chang), only got a good voice for sure. I'm happy I've improved a lot. Thank you for your kind words :-)

  • Wow..wow...!! What a lovely voice singing in Japanese. Hmmmm..I love it!! Yes..it would be such a thrill, watching u singing...and I'm lookin' forward to it!!! Always, ..will be your fan!!Sabrina!!

  • Thanks a lot, Peter, for loving this song. I'll see what I can when things settle down a bit later.

  • You are a truly great singer, and you have proven it again. Your Japanese is super and sweet. You remind me a lot of Teresa Teng.

Have you thought about buying a video camera?

  • I was worried about my pronunciations. Now I'm relieved, and happy that it doesn't disappoint you. I do own a camcorder, just have never tried converting any video to computer, though we bought a converter long time ago, I've never used it :-(. The problem is I can rarely find time to focus on it. Wish little push here and there, I may do it sooner than later.

  • Your Japanese is excellent. It is very clear and easy to understand. You and Teresa are in the same league. I am proud of your accomplishment. Congratulations.

  • Great performance. It's not easy for a non-Japanese to sing a Japanese song. You have done very well.

  • Can't comment on Japanese, 'cause I can't speak the language. The singing is natural and smooth, yet the passion and feeling are fully expressed. Great singing, and I'm really enjoying it now! :)

  • Beautiful job, especially as your first Japanese song.
