  • Hey man, nice review. I have some questions, Can I use the watch only as a watch, just to see the time and else (how much the battery will go on like that)? and ... If I turn on the GPS, do I need to have a 3G phone to connect to or the GPS will work only on some areas(like if you're not in a big city) ?

    thanks in advance!!

  • Is it water proof?

  • Wish this watch wasn't so damn much money!. 200 for a sportswatch is kinda spendy, I may wait to see if the Fuel Band get's any good reviews. Thanks for reviewing it man!.

  • @holycowitschris the fuel band doesnt track runs

  • @CookieMonster1287 oh well my ipod with Nike Plus does so it would be fine for me! lol

  • what's the best sports watch in your opinion?

  • Is it waterproof, in case it rains or something

  • hey is the battery life good? Or does it die quickly? And do you need the shoe sensor thing or whatever or can you run without it?

  • @MustardKetchupMayo The battery life will depend on how frequently you use the GPS feature. You don't necessarily need shoe sensor, since the device can be used just GPS.

  • Great review, tried it returned it and bought a garmin forerunner 305 for 120$ @ costco, also tried my buddies garmin 605 touch screen and its not as good as the 305 either, the touch screen is annoying.

  • Great review - thanks! Just got the watch for Christmas and trying it out.

  • is it water proof or resistane? I do the extreme runs such as the warrior dash and spartan race and parts of the course you have to go under water

  • I like what im hearing about the watch but why should i buy it when an ipod can do everything the watch does?

  • great review

  • Great review! Is there an option of different clock displays? I love this watch but I like to read the time all on one line.

  • Do you need a special Nike Shoe to use the Nike Shoe Sensor?

  • @mrbing70 No, you can purchases pouches for shoes that aren't Nike+ compatible.

  • There is a Firmware update that allows features like stopwatch. Go to Nike.com and go to the sportwatch gps page and it will tell you what all the update does.

  • Thanks for the great review!

It looks really cool, and I'm thinking about picking it up.

One thing I'm wondering about, though, is that I already have an iPhone and I use the Nike+GPS app daily.

Wouldn't it redundant to have both of my iPhone Nike+GPS app, as well as the Nike+Sportswatch GPS?

What are the advantages of getting this watch if I already use the Nike+GPS app on my iPhone?

  • @imjms737 wouldn't it be* redundant

  • I can't get the stopwatch thing to show up in the scroll menu....what do i do?

  • When u hook the watch up to ur computer the red box pops up then click settings and go to laps and intervals there you can set a lap got very mile or km or however many u wnt

  • Awesome review!!! Thinking about getting it! I do manual log enrtries for all my runs. Getting kind of redundant! This looks right up my ally!

  • Can you only have 2 pieces of info on the screen at once? eg time ellapsed and distance ran?

I like to be able to see time ellapsed, distance ran and mins per mile at least. Would this not be possible? Thanks

  • @benhughes13 Yes. Nike only allows you to display two pieces of information a time on the watch.

  • awesome review, pretty funny. thanks for the info

  • please put on wrist so we know what it will look like when wearing

  • im thinking about getting this watch, BUT i do 100m and 200m sprinting, and i want to know my top speed after each run, does this record your top speed that you can upload for your records or anything like that? or does it only do pace time, and more designed for long distance runners?

  • @nickt916 As far as I can tell, the watch does not give stats on speed. It would tell you a fairly accurate pace for a short distance such as a 200m sprint, but is designed to function better for longer distances.

  • great review!

  • @tycanady Thanks

  • Great review, I run 40K a week and use the Nike + on my Ipod and as you, don't like to carry the Ipod. I worry when it rains because the Ipod not water proof, is the watch?

  • @trailorsailor The watch is water resistant, but it wouldn't be damaged by running in the rain.

  • Can the watch have updates. You know to like add a stopwatch feature.

  • @allbitenobark Yes. The watch automatically checks for new updates and new gps information whenever it's synced with your computer. The average pace feature was added via software update, so a stopwatch feature is totally possible.

  • did you mention software anywhere in these? also - have you tested the accuracy of the GPS besides just looking at the map? like...measuring a distance with your car and then running with the watch?

  • "that's kinda gay"...the stupidity of that statement speaks for itself.

  • @susanzee333 Well, he said "Sorry" afterwards. He instantly knew it was wrong. You know it too, and you know what he meant... It's kinda stupid to comment that ^^

  • @alexanderdenztore its called editing, so no...my comment wasn't "stupid"

  • Thx for the review. Now do one on running + uploading + which data (charts) are used.

  • I really liked your review of the nike+ sportwatch i have choson to buy this product. Also i was wondering if there is any signifigance for your omega underline/ libra tattoo?

  • @Gratefulguitars Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy your watch. As for my tattoo, there's no significance just my zodiac sign.
