It actually does make sense. She won't rescue him because she knows he will just desert her afterwards. It is the other option that doesn't make sense. "I won't ask you (you) to just desert me" just doesn't fit in the song, meaning-wise.

Plus, if you listen very closely to the album version, you can hear her pronouncing the R of the word "rescue" in the last chorus.

@ericklock389 Most of them are actually incorrect. It would be written as "I won't rescue you to just desert me". In other words, she doesn't want to rescue the person if he's going to just desert her. It doesn't make sense if it was "I won't ask you, you to just desert me"

That doesn't sound grammatically right... if it were, it would be written as "I won't ask you to just desert me"

Great job. I don't know about keys, but I do know that this is a great cover. And I also know that there's another instrumental for this song somewhere else on youtube. I couldn't see myself performing a song without practicing with the instrumental so I knew what to expect. Some instrumentals have weird back-up singers who will throw you off with how terrible they are. Anyway, this cover is wonderful.
