OH NO! Thats COMPLETELY BULL! CAPCOM DOES STILL SNK IDEAS ALL THE WAY WITHOUT REMOSE! I JUST HATE THEM! SEE WHATS HAPPENING WITH SSFIV AND MVC3! WE ARE GETTING RIP OFF BY SETH G. ! LIES AFTER LIES!
@FatalFuryRealBout Nearly everyone else does that, even Capcom and Data East. They take ideas that were already done and combine them with new ideas. Have you read this video's description?
And some of SNK's employees were ex-Capcom employees. Capcom's Street Fighter series is a Karate Champ arcade / Yie Ar Kung-Fu arcade hybrid with some elements borrowed/stolen from Galactic Warriors, Shanghai Kid, Uchi Mata and Street Smart.
@1983parrothead Yes, I read the video's description and I know which Fatal Fury 3 Fatal Fury 3 was programmed by former employees of Capcom, but is funny for me the similarities.
Thanks for your comment. I can add you as a friend?
Hmmm... one of the many minor vs fighting games, which are all blatant copies, blatantly copies other vs fighting games, especially THE first and most notable blatant copy (AoF).
@MasaruKato82 While Street Fighter copied both Data East and Technos Japan's Karate Champ arcade (forget the NES port) and Konami's Yie Ar Kung-Fu arcade (forget the Famicom and MSX versions). Ryo Sakazaki might be a blatant copy of Ryu, but they were both created by the same people who worked for both Capcom, then later SNK.
Some fighting games like Fight Fever are influenced by post-SF ones. For Fatal Fury 1 and Time Killers, they aren't blatant copies. They were developed at the same time.
yah dude cause of the airplane /helicopter ...though look at the peeps at the background! they are the exact same model as guile stage man lol look and the dudes setting on top of the box's! or the dude infront of the barrel cheerin lol....
@xxbeholderxx Street Fighter and Art of Fighting were created by some of the same people (not to be confused with companies), while SNK assisted their Korean distributor and Fight Fever creator, Viccom (read video's info). It's pretty much a cross between Fatal Fury 2/Special and Art of Fighting 1&2. Street Fighter is too common to compare it to. Nick Commando's stage has a helicopter and so does John Crawley's stage. What you mean is a military airport/air carrier, which is too common.
Of course. Viccom is SNK's Korean distributor. Fight Fever wasn't so innovative because it was Viccom's first game. The first games of most companies weren't very innovative either, including SNK (Micon Block), Data East (Super Break), Irem (IPM Invader), Konami (Space King), Namco (Gee Bee), Capcom (Vulgus), Taito (Elepong) and Tecmo (Pleiads). The first step is always the hardest.
Fight Fever helped Viccom gain experience to create their superior fighter, The Eye of Typhoon.
Thank you, merlin. I believe Han Baedal is Viccom's founder and president, Kim Kap-hwan; while Karate Kenji is Eikichi Kawasaki, SNK's founder and former president.
Damn... I KNEW Karate Kenji's voice sounded familiar.
This is a VERY nice collection. Thank you immensely for taking to compile it all together. It was also very considerate of you to include similar moves. That way everyone knows where all of the techniques came from.
Thanks also for explaining Viccom's history as a company... you have no idea how much it puts everything into perspective.
It's got to be said... Fight Fever was actually not as bad as most people make it out to be.

SNK copy a lot of characters from Capcom, but they have originals characters too.

2:57 OMG I knew that you can rip your opponent's clothes with a special move but I didn't knew about Yuri's Perfect win pose o_o
Nice video. For Master Taekuk's fire ball it reminds me of Dhalsim's Yoga Fire.
Han Beadal's Jump Kick reminds me of Dragon's Dragon Kick.
I didn't even knew they were Desperation Moves in this game.

The move where Karate Kenji turns red and dashes reminds me of Abigail from Final Fight and Marshall from Burning Fight.

Upon closer examination, gameplay archetypes in video games are common, even in the early 1990s.
Some game companies might copy others, while other developers blatantly rip-off others.
I like how this video shows how characters & gameplay ideas & concepts were exchanged between SNK & Viccom.

@1983parrothead:
Good, points, good points.
Also, I gotta check out "The Eye of Typhoon" videos. That game looks like a vast improvment over "Fight Fever."
Again, a good video complilation here.

Nice comparison video. Some of those moves do look very similar. Karate Kenji always reminded me a bit of Geese Howard.
