@amodelamateria there has been only 1 baddy I couldn't kill with a hammer and that was the disco balls that dance around the circus ball (found in mini-castles). thwomp, hothead, even flying lava-balls all die by the hammer.

the disco balls do die if they run into you in statue mode of the tanooki suit, thus all baddies can be killed in SM3

Yes, you just have to get the Hammer Suit from one of the Mushroom Houses in World 6. Ducking will also allow you to block fireballs!
