I like the idea of creating a record of the view count. I've seen counts on Ron Paul and John Harris (UK) videos drop down massively overnight, which could be attributed to a glitch, but to suspicious old me it looks more like an attempt to present the impression of little popular interest. In the case of Ron Paul, it dropped from over a million to about 15 thousand overnight.
