  • NOW THAT'S MUSIC!!!!!

  • @mrsthames67 Yes it is!

  • u gotta b kiddin!

  • It seems that everything has to be a competition nowadays. This is a Beatles song, loved by millions. Lakeside interpreted the song as a soulful ballad, and it sounds great. It doesn't have to be better or worse, and both can be great. If you prefer one to the other, fine. As long as you realize that it's not against the law to like two things at once.

  • @emmettk thank you for your opened mind.

  • oooh have mercy

  • l Love You 675!!

  • cold lakeside i saw the sing this at the riviera in east saintlouis, ill. i was five feet from the stage them boys is cold

THIS right here is REAL music!!! =D

  • Alright Lakeside....wonderful rendition of a classic. You guys did justice to this song. Love it, love it.

  • This is how that song should've been sung.

  • This song can STILL bring down the PANTIES.

  • BACK IN THE GOOD OL DAYS!!!

  • Lakeside...my husband plays this to me since he's not big on singing...lol

  • Nope Beatles is better I don't really like this version. Guess I'm not a real person then.

  • i love this song...

  • wow! i had forgot this song.but the same feeling came right back as when i first heard it.if you was at a dance ,you were just happy when someone asked you t o dance,.thats when you forgot about all that good girl mess.you just wanted to bump and grind all night.THANKS for POSTING. took me back!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh yea, just play the damn thing doo!!!

  • I like The Beatles better

  • best remake i ever heard

  • Hey LaDonna! What Cha Know About This??????

  • Lennon and McCartney never could've imagined it as a slow jam, right, gang? God bless!

  • @DaveWollenberg MAN YOU SAID SOMETHIN' RIGHT THERE!!!! This song is crazy good!!! lol

  • This song was originally recorded by The Beatles

  • i remember this as a kid. my mom use to tap her foot to this.

  • this was the jam back in the day. this is what real music sound like.

  • POP SOUL R&B & GOSPEL all in one. GREAT RENDITION!

  • Okay... Didn't Lakeside do a version of Larry Graham's One in a million??? Someone load it... Please......

  • @speeddemonkris I'm not sure..but if you come across it b4 i do please let me know..but i'll keep my ears open for it

  • speeddemonkris @ nyseamex... Thank you and I will!! Once you hear it you will understand why I am desperately trying to find a copy. It is AMAZING!!!

  • great music

  • love this sooooooo much and Im an 80's baby!!

  • The best version of this song ever.

  • @luvbig41 You are so right. This the jam right here.

  • I love this remake but lets give the beatles credit; you have to write a great song to have a great song to sing.

  • This is a remixed version with Bo Henderson taking Otis Stokes's version. Henderson would later join the Temps in the late '90's

  • This is the difference from a soul singers where people feel the music than a group like the Beatles coming from a music class where the whole class sing the words with no feeling. Not trying to hate, but it's the truth

  • @nccu1989 You're speaking the truth.

  • They did much better than the Beattles on this so much that you can't even compare the two.

  • @nccu1989 Ditto!

  • I consider this their tribute to The Beatles and John Lennon since this came out less than 6 months after Lennon died. Lakeside completely transformed the song and like The Beatles, it's a masterpiece. You can't compare the two. I love them both.

  • Boy, this is an awesome song. To bad they don't make music like this anymore!!!

  • this should be nominated for a grammy. I can't get enough of it

  • I feel you "ditto".

  • Undoubtedly better than the beatles

  • This is an excellent version of the Beatle classic.

Don't even compare the two because they are totally different style songs so to say it's better than the Beatles just isn't accurate or true!

  • Agree with me or not they out did the Beatles on this.

  • Great song. I just love it sill and I am 53 now.

  • Taking me back!!!! Thanks so much!!!!

  • This was the jam!!!! Better than the Beatles.....I saw them in concert and they bruoght down the house with song.

  • Thank you so much for posting!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song!!!!!!!

  • omg!!!!!i was a little shorty when this came out and boy was i in love with the one singing i just knew he was talking to me and only me!

  • The Beatles did render a version of this song, but it definitely was not as soulful as the Lakeside version.

  • My favorite Lakeside song!!!

  • danwhere did this music goo

  • The video Is on iTunes y'all.. It's the one with Otis in it.. Check it out.. And check the video I need you, they sung the hell out of the song.. It's all on iTunes

  • You can see the real video on iTunes.

  • What a great remake.....This is how that song should've been sung.....

  • I love this song but why do they have a picture of the ohio players on a song that lakeside is singing.

  • You have to know what he's feeling when you listen to this song. The Beatles are ever an icon. And Lakeside is a group in their own time which adds SOUL .

  • in oder to like it you wood to know what it meensssss

  • it is a good song... but i prever the real version from the Beatles. this is way to slow..

  • Love odd covers like this

  • dude sound like a otis reject

  • this will be on my wedding collection cd definitely! for A. Ramirez....aye, my love.

  • Love this group and this song in particular. However, I prefer the version with Otis Stokes. "Sing it with me Otis".

  • this is the remade version, the original one with Otis Stokes is so much deeper and powerful. SING IT WITH ME OTIS.

  • Actually the original is by The Beatles.

  • Yeah I know the Beatles did this song. I meant their are 2 versions of this song by Lakeside and the 1st version with Otis Stokes where Mark Woods says Sing It With Me Otis is so much better.

  • I love this redition of this song

  • me too!

  • At around 1:03 onwards I see they are seven instead of nine. What happened to the remaining two? Just curious/asking.

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOH! my jam. 1981 i had my second child when this song was out. Now she is almost 28 and the song still move me. Sorry my baby making days are over. But I can sill slow dance to this song with her father.

  • When Otis was in the group this song was the best version that was made!

  • I love this song

  • I wanna hold your hand...this song is the shit.

  • Look out now this my jaaaaaaaaaaaaam

  • This is the original version with OTIS. Why did Otis leave the group and why did they make a newer version with a fake wannabe Otis that is just not as good as this original? I bet one of you guys has the answer for me.

  • This is definetly not the original. That is Mark Woods singing the lead, but that sure ain't Otis Stokes singing, cause who ever that cat is sounds horrible, Otis Stokes is a bad boy. Now why they would remake it, is definetly odd to me. Also, why do they have a picture of the Ohio Players at around the 1:02 mark. Whoever put this up must not know, thats the Ohio Players picture & not Lakeside.

  • @noinwe

Do you know of any posts of the original version with Otis? I can't seem to find anywhere.

  • this was my deceased husband favorite song

  • Great song! Too bad the picture is the OHIO PLAYERS, not LAKESIDE!!

  • this is what you call music. not that stuff they have out today.

  • this was the jjjaaammm in my house back in 1981!

  • I love this song. Such a classic.

  • Superb version of a classic by the Beatles. I must say that this group did a far better job on this song than the Beatles.

  • thanks soooo much, makes me feel happy!!!!!

  • Man, I have been searching for this version of this song. THANK YOU for posting this.

  • u are very welcome, glad u found it :)

  • Why do you have a picture of the Ohio Player At about 1:02?

  • couldn't tell you....i was prolly drinkin' when i made this video...lol

  • yeah..noticed that too ???

  • Man you know its good when you feel this is church when listing to jam back in the day.............

  • Now if only the music industry could get back to making real r&b songs like this. While so song today are good they just don't have the "soul" of groups like Lakeside. Thanks the post

  • you are welcome :)

  • I played this album so much, when you put the needle down it would just slide across. Wore the grooves out, this is a Cold Jam !!!!!!

  • One of my favorite groups of ALL times. They turn a simple action of holding hands into something so sexually beautiful, it is unbeliveable. Better than the "bump and grind" of today, by far!

  • I agree with all of you. I actually hated this song by the Beatles, but as an R&B cut (and actually, more like a Blues song) by Lakeside, it is beautiful and very well done.

  • The Beatles should have just given this to Lakeside, greatest version I ever heard.

  • For years I thought that I was the only one who remembered this song but I was definitely wrong.

  • I felt the same way. They never played this song enough on the radio. My son was about 3 months old when it was on the radio...before rap

  • This and "Real Love" by Lakeside....WOW!!!

  • Indeed, Lakeside made this one of the greatest love songs I have ever heard.

  • I agree completely. The Beatles' version was great. But Lakeside took it so much farther.

  • I heard the Beatles and I've heard Lakeside. Lakeside turned this song into just about the most beautiful song on earth. They added soul to the lyrics and I thank them for it.
