The only version that is sold with HD is the one sold ONLY in Japan. The HD version is not exported. The camera is fine and there are a number of networks that use them.
hey mate , does this shoot in 720 and am i able to upload footage onto a conputer for editing . also im using it to shoot skateboarding and bodyboarding so i it to heavy to using the holdy thing on the top and can you buy water housings for it
dude i just bought this cam today ,,i recorded something for a while then i connected the cam to the laptop using the dv cable ,,i opened windows movie maker ,,pressed file then "import from digital video camera" ..they told me that there is no cam connected ,,although it was connected ,,and the cam was an vcr mode too .. wat do u think is the prob ??and wat program to u advice for editing ?pls reply soon ! thx dude ..
i have an NV-GS250 3CCD, which is not as good as this, but it does produce great colours. The only downside to my camcorder is its low light performances, like a lot of mainstream models. But I see on your video that the MD10000 is great in low light, I might buy one. Also, in regards to HD, I try not to worry about HD model, until prices drop as HD becomes more mainstream. I mean, even if you get a HD camera for this price, the low light performance & clarity will compromise the HD picture
Are you sure it records in DVCAM? DVCAM is Sony's standard, and there is no way a Panasonic camcorder will record in this standard. Also, DVCAM uses 15 mkm track, not 10 mkm like DV, which means 40 minutes recording time on a regular 60 min cassette. DVCPRO, on another side, uses 18 mkm track, which allows for 33 minutes of recording as you stated. So, I think you confused DVCPRO with DVCAM, and this camera records in DVCPRO.

there are actualy two reasons why they use the PAL standard over NTSC, one is resolution, the other one is colorspace! (PAL colorspace is 4:2:0 (or YUV12) and NTSC colorspace is 4:1:1 (or YIQ) with limited converters)
I'm new in working with cameras. Can anyone explain me, how can I transfer videos on PC? What do I exactly need to have (program, cable,...), except MD10000?! (:
a firewire card, firewire cable. Then plug in the cable to both your pc and camera and use your software's capture function (don't forget to rewind the tape ;))
Hi, I am in South Africa. I own a few of the PAN NV MD 10000s , it has exactly the same features as per this review. i love the camera. i use it in my company to do live vid feeds and DVD productions. although it retails for about $12500, i would pay up to $15000. what you said about the effects is very true, there are only basics on, like fade in and out, invert, etc. but i run the s-video outputs through a numark mixing desk - it is realy amazing, i am just waiting for the HD model
Hi, great video. What is the difference between your camera and the model NV MD10000 mini-DV ? Will it use mini DV tapes then? The serious question is actually here: does it go for 50 frames? I need that for video clips I shoot.
The model MD 10000 sold in Japan runs at DVCam speed, not SP or LP. Yes you can also use standard DV tapes if you want. Not really sure and running at 50 fps is not needed for my work.
thx for the intro the cam. i 1 to know where's the tape position located? bottom or side? far can the viewfinder be turn up & down?is the LCD touch screen?what battery type & last for how long?
My camera records in the SP mode, with the pro tapes and does the full 63 mins. The menu is also in full English, do I have the same version as you. I do not see anything about DV Mode.
ahhh first? I did not talk about my life in Japan, because I don't live in Japan. And second. I only talked about the camera. I only mentioned Japan because that is where I bought it.
thank you very much, i from malaysia i did ask my panasonic retail shop in here, but they seem not very much information like you, what feel this camera is the picture not very clear or maybe less resolution, any body have any comment/help? the editing software i use is sony vegas 7.

Good video, I have the NV-MD10000GC and am supprised that so little info, especially review videos, is available online.
Although its never, ever, mentioned in regards to this camera, is the white lens cap for white ballence?
Thanks

Hey need some help here, currently got a [Panasonic NV MD 10000].
Problem is when i record and try to capture it in Premiere Pro cs4, the Footage produced is very noisy and not very sharp.
Is there some setting to change it or is there some problem?
I captured in SP mode, setting used auto.
I choose [DV PAL Standard 48kHz] for my project setting in Premiere Pro.

@CrazyTaste just render the video first using other editing programme, such as corel or sony vegas. then edit it on your own pav programme.
