when i lived in bondi my neighbours baby was bitten by a funnell web, the baby picked up the spider as it walked across the kitchen floor and tried to put it in its mouth!!! the kid survived but the anti venom lab burned down a week later!! it was on the news, my roommate was bitten on the neck by a white tip after a booze cruise on sydney harbour, crazy.

I myself live in sydney in the suburban areas, I have encountered a funnel web in my backyard numerous times, scared the shit out of me when it started arching up, killed it with a shovel =], its a pain in the ass putting your hand down your shoe to check if there's any spiders in there before wearing them.

Well the black widow, where I got bitten on my arm, started feelng hell weird (as usual), and it went numbish and limpish, and of course with a lot of spider bites, I was feeling dizzy, sick all the normal shit. With the redback I was again feeling a little sick but that's about it really suprisingly, I thought they woulda been more dangerous. The white tip... that left me feeling in a heap of pain on my leg, and again... sick feeling.
