I hate the way Hotch looks at Haley after he hangs up the phone, then her phone starts ringing. It's so sad, you can see it in his eyes that he's hurt by the fact that she might be cheating on him. It's even worse when she's killed by Foyet, because you would NEVER expect that he thought that she was cheating on him, by the way he acts. But, then again, I guess anyone in their right mind would cry their eyes out if their spouse was killed, whether the spouse cheated or not. I love you Hotch!!

Then when she leaves the room, she takes the purse with her so he can't see who called her. She is a bitch for screaming at him and treating him like shit, when she cheating. remember reading that people in the medical field policemen (and esp. profilers) usually have a high divorce rate, and for the rare few that stay together "till death do us part", their partners either are in the same line of work (hence they know and understand the demanding hours) or are truly long suffering saints who don't mind of their spouses clamp up after witnessing brutal murders (really not dinner table conversation) or leaving them and family away for weeks or months to work cases.

A person calls the house, of whom we are assuming is a man, and is most likely looking for Haley to pick up the phone. But when the man hears Hotch's masculine tone, he hangs up. Almost directly afterwards Haley's phone rings, and both us and Hotch suspect it to be a man of which Haley is cheating on Hotch with.

And look at it this way maybe Jack thinks his daddy is trying to make the world a better place for his son. Like if all of these bad men were out there and the team pu them away Jack and other kids would be free to go outside and play .
It doesn't matter whether he is a smart boy or not, there will always be that small sense of resentment that his Dad is always off saving the world instead of being around for him. Kids will feel that way whether they love their parents or not. It's just how the psychology of a child's mind work. What if Hotch constantly misses Jack's birthdays, sports games, or even graduation? After so many times, it puts a strain on a child to constantly not have a parent there when it matters.

She knew his job alright, but she also saw her husband being consumed by it. How many times did Hotch drop everything for a case? All Haley wanted was for Hotch to be home more so that they could raise Jack TOGETHER, be parents and husband and wife. But Hotch was always way too busy with BAU for any of that.

I used to loved them in the beginning, she was so understanding and I thought I finally found a show where the wife wouldn't leave cause of the job, then the writers screwed me over. I've loved that actress since Dawson's Creek, I was so happy when I saw her on this show.
Hotch seemed to be so happy at the beginning with Haley, but then she turned into a bitch and dumped him. I wouldn't doubt that she was having an affair, and I think that she was wrong because she knew what Hotch did for a living and then suddenly she objects. It hink that it was just the writers wanting to take the story and Hotch 'in a new direction', which I think stinks. Oh well.
She didn't object because she hated his job, she objected because she saw the job consume him. Hotch became more about the job and everything about the job rather than being a father and a husband.
If anything, her leaving was realistic as they come.
I don't blame Haley, I blame TPTB, aka the producers, writers and directors. If they'd wanted, they could have kept Haley with Hotch. I mean, in previous seasons she was fine with what Hotch did. @EdwardandBella1918 Well, i read this on some website, a long while ago, but in this scene, it was supposed to SUGGEST that Haley might be having an affair.
The guy calls the house, he hears Hotch's voice, hangs up and tries Haley's cell phone. They never went anywhere with this "cheating" idea, but i think it was just meant to raise suspicions. They divorced because of his job, yes, but its also suggested that she's seeing someone else for the same reason.

For those who are confused about the phone thing:
A person calls the house, of whom we are assuming is a man, and is most likely looking for Haley to pick up the phone. But when the man hears Hotch's masculine tone, he hangs up. Almost directly afterwards Haley's phone rings, and both us and Hotch suspect it to be a man of which Haley is cheating on Hotch with.
Which makes her really, REALLY stupid because i mean come one, it's HOTCH for goodness sake!

maybe he should have thought of that before he decided to be a Dad. How would Jack feel growing up with an absent father? Even if Daddy's off saving the world, a child will still be hurt when their Dad isn't around for them.
He has a responsibility to his son first, maybe he should think that his family means more than a job.

And look at it this way maybe Jack thinks his daddy is trying to make the world a better place for his son. Like if all of these bad men were out there and the team pu them away Jack and other kids would be free to go outside and play .

It doesn't matter whether he is a smart boy or not, there will always be that small sense of resentment that his Dad is always off saving the world instead of being around for him. Kids will feel that way whether they love their parents or not. It's just how the psychology of a child's mind work. What if Hotch constantly misses Jack's birthdays, sports games, or even graduation? After so many times, it puts a strain on a child to constantly not have a parent there when it matters.

She knew his job alright, but she also saw her husband being consumed by it. How many times did Hotch drop everything for a case? All Haley wanted was for Hotch to be home more so that they could raise Jack TOGETHER, be parents and husband and wife. But Hotch was always way too busy with BAU for any of that.
It was never about Haley not being proud of Hotch, it was about their family being second best to the job.

I used to loved them in the beginning, she was so understanding and I thought I finally found a show where the wife wouldn't leave cause of the job, then the writers screwed me over. I've loved that actress since Dawson's Creek, I was so happy when I saw her on this show.

Hotch seemed to be so happy at the beginning with Haley, but then she turned into a bitch and dumped him. I wouldn't doubt that she was having an affair, and I think that she was wrong because she knew what Hotch did for a living and then suddenly she objects. It hink that it was just the writers wanting to take the story and Hotch 'in a new direction', which I think stinks. Oh well.

She didn't object because she hated his job, she objected because she saw the job consume him. Hotch became more about the job and everything about the job rather than being a father and a husband.
If anything, her leaving was realistic as they come.

I don't blame Haley, I blame TPTB, aka the producers, writers and directors. If they'd wanted, they could have kept Haley with Hotch. I mean, in previous seasons she was fine with what Hotch did. Sure, she had her moments when she got angry or upset, but there were also moments when she showed that she understood. I guess she couldn't take it anymore... but I don't hate her for it.

see, I dont agree with Haley but you have to think about it, his job takes him away sometimes for days on end, at best he works long days well into the night. She married to him and loves him, she no doubt misses him and at the same time she put up with it for so long because she loves him and feels guilty for wanting him to stop helping people and catch murderers. But ultimately there is only so much loneliness a person can take. Especially when they have a baby. Even so I hate her for cheating

Hotch would constantly drop everything for the job, his duty as father and husband became second to BAU. Is it any wonder Haley hated it?

He is being consumed by his job is more like it. Hotch became more about his job, he would drop everything for the job, Haley and Jack became second to BAU. He is hardly even at home to raise Jack when he and Haley were suppose to raise Jack TOGETHER.

Secondly, hundreds of thousands (if not MILLIONS) of men must ravel or work on their child's birthday (or whatever). Uhmmm let's see, just for a start there are police, fire, ambulance. Waiters. Doctors. Cab drivers. Salesmen.

Secondly, even Hotch himself admits that he wasn't around enough for Jack. And just because there are many people who have that kind of work schedules, doesn't the kids at home doesn't feel the weight of their parents not being around.
It wasn't about the money, she wanted her husband for once to put her and her son first, not just run off with the BAU every time there is a call. That is hardly wrong.
