  • This song is to me the greatest song ever recorded, bar none....................however this tribute bands greatest album is '1991' it just did'nt get proper airplay except 'smokestack lightning' but just check out 'it's a killer', 'good thing', 'i've had enough', 'keeping the faith', money man' and the rest of this album, my guess is you will agree.

  • thumbs up if you saw the squids and it made you love this more!

  • If there was anyone who could fill in for Collins and Gains it would be Hugie Thommason (Outlaws) and Medlock (Blackfoot). At 5:03 it is nearly the same as the original!

  • i never relised how much of an impact that Billy had on the song playing piano

  • uuuuhuuul that smeell

  • This is a great tribute band.

  • That smell!

  • you can say what you will about free bird. though the guitat work in that smell is without a doubt some of the finest guitar playing of all time...

  • @bvoldness I heard that from some very talented gutarists. Some is for sure a masterpiece, and just think......it was made in the barn

  • Is Rickey Medlocke playing Allen Collins' guitar? You can watch some old Skynyrd videos and see Allen playing the same guitar. I wonder...Maybe he plays the same guitar to get as close to that original sound that was so incredible with the original members before the plane crash...??? Either way, Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the best bands of all time!!!

  • What other group could turn a bad car wreck into one of the best songs of all time? AND - thank God Ronnie(may he RIP) had a younger brother in Johnny to take over as the lead singer/front man so Skynyrd can live on!

  • This is the best line up or the post crash Skynyrd. They put out some great albums Thommason left. edge of forever, Twenty, Vicious Cycle...all magnificent albums...

  • Who in the hell has the balls to dislike this eh?

  • A shiver up my backbone.....that guitar solo!!!!

  • i still get goosebumps listening to this-- so classic!! :)

  • wow its scarey how much he sounds like ronnie here!!! omg awessssssssssssome

  • @amylinnlevi Idiot

  • Thank god that they're still going. Not only has Billie Powell now passed on bot so has thier bass player Ean Evans; they didn't even cancel a date to make sure that what their bandmates worked for went on. This is a band that's been kincked in both bollocks and come up standing.

  • If there is no lynyrd skynyrd in heaven, then i will go to hell and listen to them, and ill probably be there for the very things this song speaks of

  • my OP is best dbl lead ever

  • My Favorite Skynard tune.

  • wasnt this song about gary crashing into an oak tree?

  • @mattyboyovadanet Partially...Gary certsinly inspired the opening lines, and the "Prince Charming" bit....I think Allen was having issues with alcohol and coke at the time as well, at a time when Ronnie was trying to clean the bnd up a bit. Still a killer tune that's stood the test of time!

  • o_o

  • this is the kind of song that makes you wanna learn guitar

  • it inspired me a lot

  • I saw them live on this tour at Sunrise Theater in FL. Crowd was a little scary but incredible concert!!1

  • hughie made this music his own...

    god bless the skynyrd band...

    past present and future

  • No Offense - I LOVE this version of Skynyrd- ONLY Ronnie could feel the stage BURN. Allen-Ronnie-Gary- Leon-Artimus- Billie. Please dont get me wrong- its true. I love Hughie-Rickey- oh God dont we all. Just sayin...........

  • Yes sir.Couldn't agree more! Johnny is an excellent singer but doesn't quite have the pipes that Ronnie did. Can't believe B.P. died earlier this year.I just found that out today and about cried.Never heard anything about it!

  • Awesome-they killed it. Some of the best guitar work ever laid on vinyl. The last solo is basically "the book" on how to structure a solo-incredible.

  • im from the north and sometimes i wish the south won

  • one of the best lead guitar songs ever!!!

what feeling in there playing, from the soul!!

  • they couldnt have got 2 better guitar players to play next to gary!!!

  • FIREBIRD VII FTW, man they rock

  • I love this song..

  • skynyrd cook as ever......those boys can play

  • me too!love almost everything of this hardworking band.Oh that voice!
