I finally picked her up after repeatedly telling him that she wouldn't come to him. And he starts to block me, and starts petting her. His hand remained on her as I walked away. And he's just laughing and giggling like a fucking lunatic. I hate him.
Hi Michael. I feel like this is the one downside of having a dog. The other morning I encountered my "crazy dude on the block". The man is so creepy, and is always trying to touch my dog. One day I'll tell you about the first time we met.
The other day he crouched down and said, "come here puppy", and my dog stopped dead in her tracks. I told him she wouldn't come to him. Didn't work. I was so angry because she wouldn't move because of him and I had to get to work. cont'd
@AnaEros Funny you should say that. Another "crazy dude on the block" gets around by motorized wheel chair. He claims to be "The Dog Whisperer"...he barks at my dog sometimes. Maybe your crazy dude is the same?

and he rides at night. I thought I saw him coming ahead of time one night and took my dog up an enbankment in all kinds of bushes and trees...he still spotted us and barked.

If the old man is originally from a different country, or of a certain religion, maybe he thinks the word "hello" has something to do with HELL? Try "Good Morning" next time. I shouldn't be giving advice. As I get older, I like some people less and less. I'm becoming cantankerous, but I still like coffee!!!
As someone who has worked with the elderly, I wonder if it's possible the old fuckh ... man missed your initial greeting because of a sensory deficit of some sort, perhaps poor vision? In his mind, you've ignored him once and now he's restored the balance by ignoring you. May I suggest greeting him clearly and unambiguously a third time. If he ignores you again, punch him in the face. His reaction time will be crap compared to yours.
I live in Glendale so I know the awkwardness of which you speak. What is the deal with the old folks? They sit all day outside their apt buildings and don't acknowledge anything. I used to live in Chicago and the Polish are the same. There was a very old woman who lived in the apt building next to mine who literally looked like she came out of WWII Poland. She stood every day at the black iron gates that run in front of the buildings, like she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Mike, never have and NEVER WILL be a coffee person here BUT I do enjoy liquid beverages as I watch/make videos Orange Juice, Pop (what non Detroit area people call soda), Raspberry Iced Tea, Sweet Tea, BEER!!! So will that exclude me from your little Coffee Clatch? Hope not.
