@glennaldosf thx Glenn... nothing like enjoying a good hockey game in Canada. This was the San Jose Sharks vs. Calgary Flames... Owen Nolan had a hat-trick against his old team (the Sharks)
There is nothing more exciting then going into the saddledome right at the beginning of the game, where all the players come out and the crowd goes crazy. It gives me goosebumps every time. check out x5sports,net for the strangest hockey pool you've ever seen
Yeah, i can only say this: You have the best players, the best arenas but not the best fans. I dont know who it look in Russia, Finland och Czech Republic. But come to a game here in Sweden, and i promise you wont be disapointed. We sing all game long, what do you do? Lets go Canada!? haha comon so sad.
i'll give you that.. my friend plays in the Mistis league in Finland for vaasa sport and i catch up with him by watching the highlight clips.. there's more standing seats than sitting seats.. is that common in a lot of europe leagues?
i only know one arena here in Sweden that dont have any standing seats and its Scandinavium in Göteborg, (Alfredsson's hometown) But soon we have that here too, and we stand up anyway. we dont want any sitting seats only, not fun then. Its little bit like european soccer in the crowd, just not so many people. and we use drums, flags and more stuff that makes it cool, but its we fans who have to pay for it too.
that's cool. yeah i'd love to go to Finland and see him play. i always watched him play his college games at michigan tech. dany heatley played for wisconsin.. in the same conference as tech. i saw heatley play a college game. i was like 11 years old and didn't know who he was at the time, so i didn't get his autograph. 2 years later he scored 4 goals in the NHL all-star game... i have phil kessel's autograph tho.. kinda redeemed myself i guess
Yes its cool, under the lockout season Alfredsson, Axelsson, Påhlsson, Bäckman and Sami Salo played in Frölunda (my team). And players like Henrik Lundqvist and his brother Joel, Loui Eriksson and other names whos good here like Kallio, Andersson and Johnson! that season we won the gold and that was hilarious. So fun, it was almost like NHL =D Forsberg, Näslund and Sedin brothers played in Modo for example, really cool.
I don't see why players stay in Europe. I know my friend Paul in Finland said there's no income tax and he said he's definitely getting bang for his buck. I wonder what attracted players back to the NHL after the lockout...
Yes but dont forget that he is playing in the Mestis league in Finland, thats not the best in that country so. Its more money in SM-Liiga than Mestis, more money in Elitserien (sweden) than the finnish league, and KHL (Russia) have more money than NHL. atleast a few teams.
I dont think its so cool, its nice with all the lights and stuff, but comon, you call yourself for the best fans over the world, but i dont see any tifo or anything, no drums or flags nothing! you sit there and eat your popcorn! so boring.
Any one have an intro for Flames that I can put in NHL 09. I thought it was just linkin park faint but seems like its Faint then when the players comes out theres a horn followed by a different song
I'm not a Flames fan, but the team intro's interest me. To all Flames fans, good luck this year! :)

That's waaay too quiet people! Be louder!

The Saddledome has terrible accoustics. There are thousands of sound absorbing tiles that disrupt most sound that reaches the upper regions.

@LewisD91 That's what I was saying the whole time there!
