  • Jorg Gerloch and team..... Thank you.

  • His hair and Edward Cullen's should fight in a cage match.

  • Ole Jorg here makes a hell of a paint sprayer but he needs to do something about that wolverine hair style

  • contraindications?

  • damn that works really good

  • I didn't mean to make a pun, but the first thing I thought when I saw this was "HOT DAMN!"

  • The cells is taken from the burn victims own skin so no rejections. Wow!

  • And why don't we do stem cell research? oh boy here go!!

  • it went from a view of his hand, to his shoulder? wait what?

  • @xtheritalinx His entire side was burned, so both his hand and his shoulder would look about the same when it comes to a burn.

  • Looks a new item for the medic's arsenal.

  • I don't care WHAT kind of research it involves or HOW controversial the subject may be, THAT is advancement and AMAZING!!! THANK YOU to whatever team of doctors/scientists may have come up with this!! It's good to see some positive news, lately everything else is far too negative!!!!

  • ewwww

  • This is real and it uses pig derived fetal stage epithelial stem cells NOT his own....XENO surface applied transplantation. There is scientific evidence of this in European Medical Journals. This is visual evidence of the power of xeno stem cell transplantation (SCXT). This is available RIGHT NOW people...

  • @djherich So, you think the video lies? I rather doubt that! I'd imagine you've just made a false assumption based on earlier research or another form of this treatment that you are aware of.

  • should i watch the burnt hands, or look at jennifer aniston's boob? decisions...

  • So we have the basic components of a medical gun, here?

Excellent, call me when we've perfected Ubercharge technology as well.

  • not enough before and after photos.

  • The idiot who threw the gasoline on the bonfire needs to be brought to justice.

  • @GregoryTheGr8ster The victim was a cop, chances are the idiot who threw the gasoline was a cop. They are some of the biggest partiers I know and often do it together... the person who did it was probably his friend.

  • @GregoryTheGr8ster

    What good would that do?

  • Stem cell win

  • was developed by an Aussie (look up spray on skin) :D Tis real and I'm glad it's being used around the world!

  • wow

  • I'm not guna lie, I totally came here looking for a gun in his skin.....

  • How did I get here from College Humor??!?

  • It looks fake, but if we reject major advances in medicine and science, then why do people even try to make things like this?

  • Vote Republican. Because the invisible man in the sky doesn't want burn victims to have new skin.

  • Wow! This is amazing!

  • thumbs up if you though it was gunna be a gun put in someones skin and the were gunna shoot it

  • "A July 5th party..." lol

  • O_o

  • That is incredible.. pretty amazing technology

  • This is a wonderful thing,I hope everyone with burns has the opportunity to have this gun used on them.

  • fuck, i thought they were gonna put a gun in his skin

  • @ItsAbootTime dude I thought the same shit

  • @ItsAbootTime me too! Hahaha

  • @ItsAbootTime Lol, I thought they were gonna use a gun that fires skin for bullets!

  • @ItsAbootTime ...long live the new flesh!

  • Holy shit thats fucking amazing! They need to have one of these at every hospital!

  • stem are really amazing only people who dont care about the well being of those in need would support stem cell research

  • Sunday, 2/19/12. I believe Jorg C. Gerlach is talking about 'adult' stem cells in this video. It sounded like the stem cells were harvested from Matthew Uram's physical adult body. The video doesn't specify the 'how' or 'where' of the stem cell harvesting. This amazing discovery should be all over the brain dead mainstream media, not just National Geographic! When big pharma and insurance companies get wind of this it will unaffordable. Get the crooks out of healthcare, including Obama.

  • HOLLY SHITTZZZ thats really something , i wish i can create this difference in the world one day !

  • why arent we funding this? -.-

  • Wow, amazing what your own cells can do, wish JMStill Burn center knew about this two years ago!! Scarred for life, would've loved something like this...

  • weird part of YouTube again -.-

  • Now this is what stem cell should be used for! People just need a chance to live again!!!!! Thank GOD for this technology!!!!

  • That man is a gift from god.

  • @isnowyazn hey no, he is a gift from nature:)

  • july 5th party?

  • Holy shit balls.

  • @TheChickenrun3 I noticed someone mentioning that this vid doesn't cite any sources, so this might not be valid information. I took a course on cell and tissue engineering, and it seems that skin tissue regeneration is the easiest of all tissues to regrow. Other tissues, such as various organs is not easy to grow back because the extracellular matrices for such organs require a different set of nutrients and cells behave differently in 3D than in the 2D scaffolds which are used for skin tissues.

  • THAT IS FRIGGIN AMAZING!

  • This only works on second degree burns, it does not work on third degree burns. However it is still a very promising tech!

  • Aliens...

  • I thought it was a gun inside skin or something like that when I clicked on it in the ride side panel... lol.

  • This looks to be fake, all articles on the subject lead to this video which has no sources of its own. if anyone can find anything legit supporting these claims or really anything at all that doesn't just site this video let us know. Until then, don't believe everything you see.

Thumbs up till someone finds the answer

  • @Shwah7 He's a professor at Berlin's Humboldt Uni and Univ. of Pitt

  • A quick search of Google (scholar) turns up the article containing the research with regards to this technology, though it is locked behind a subscription. A more thorough search of the web or library and one should be able to find the article: "Sprayed Cultured Epithelial Autografts for Deep Dermal Burns of the Face and Neck" I would link the article, but youtube won't allow links me to post a link in this comment.

  • @Sordeo thanks for the lead, this is looking a bit more promising.

  • @Shwah7 this is linked from the actual Nat Geo you tube channel - your best bet is to find it on the nat geo web page

  • @alexmctighe That's where I started, naturally, and no, no sources there.

  • @Shwah7 Wikipedia's entry has at least 13 different references

  • @alexmctighe correct, and they all end up here.

  • I can't give you the full link because of youtube but here is the pubmed id number 17197946. Just go to pubmed.gov and search for that number and it'll bring up the article.

  • @Shwah7 You're going to tell me THE National Geographic is going to have something fake on their channel?

I'm not even that big a fan of TNG, but I still trust them.

  • @Shwah7 Thanks to @Fellsword716 and @Sordeo for finding the abstract from the study. thumbs down my origional omment and thumbs up to theirs.

  • @Shwah7 dude it's national geographic for one thing, and there's tons of info on Wikipedia search it!

  • @Shwah7 so your saying NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC is a liar

    ?

  • @TheClubHigh They don't show you how it works, and they never actually show you testing it on someone. No sources, therefore it probably doesn't even work.. yet

  • @TheClubHigh well ive watched national geographic before and ive never seen the "natgeotv.com" wording on any of their programmings. AND its also its a major dramatization of the skin gun. it is real yes. but the whole part of "its completely healed" in just 4 days? no that part is fake. it takes months for it to fully heal. takes 4 months with a dressing, and the skin gun involved for the color to come back and the texture. and also the hand that u see on there isnt his listen carefully

  • @Shwah7 It's real. Youtube won't let you post links. But go to National Geographic's website and search for it. You'll find the same video on there.

  • @Shwah7 it's National Geographic. Not some Fox News

  • @Shwah7: There are recent articles about this in the UK's Daily Mail, Telegraph, Huffington Post, PhysOrg, and the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine of University of Pittsburgh

  • @Shwah7 So you imagine National Geographic produce a bogus video? Would you imagine they were fooled by the patient working in cahoots with the Dr., or do you think they hired actors to produce a scam?

  • @Shwah7 I'm surprised you think it fake,it's not,it a real procedure with a real device.It promotes faster healing.Their is plenty of supporting documentation,names,phone numbers,burn centers etc.

  • @Shwah7 The thing about experimental processes is there really doesn't tend to be many sources until after a process or idea is approved, and extensively tested. So yeah, taking the video at face value is about all we can do at the moment. I'm sure that once this is tested, and we know more about the reliability and capabilities of it, or someone tries to debunk it, there will be plenty of sources.

Either way, it's a cool concept.

  • @Shwah7 This is National Geographic. If you think their illegitimate, you're a dumbass.

  • @Dooterlicious "they're", not "their", dumbass.

  • Amazing!

  • now make a gas version and a injectable attrantant, and this could be a real medic gun

  • i haven't seen any tf2 medic quotes on here yet?

  • @Dumebi2 I have no idea

  • awesome

  • Gee, I wonder why the U.S. wouldn't "approve" of it...could it be that it would cause alot of people to lose out making money off of sick people?

This is unbelieveable technology and I hope that it keeps progressing in such ways to make this world a better place

  • i really hope these treated people dont mutate, turn into zombies and try to kill us all :/

  • @completeswiftie That's actually interesting that you would say that, can you imagine? Lol

  • amazing! o.o just amaing

  • @halfbakedbagle amazing*

  • I searched around and every article I found linked to this video. Furthermore, the original video on National Geographic gives no sources. If anyone can find anything supporting this claim while not referencing this video, please, post your findings.

  • @Shwah7 Look him up (Dr. Jorg Gerlach at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine).

He has mentioned that the gun is not finished, and that he wished to finalize its design before actually running any clinical trials. That is why you cannot find any scientific trials.

  • @Youanden plus he plans for it to regenerate organs and limbs

  • wow thats amazing

  • Where are the before pictures of the guy that got miraculously healed? ...fail promotion

  • @djgeeter those who have to work the entire weekend of the 4th like police, firefighters, rescue squads&bartenders. We have to wait to have our fun because we're busy helping everyone else have their first:)

  • are they still doing well? Did the skin stay over long periods of time? Did i dry up at all? ugh! i want to know more.

  • @spike0180 Right, this is so fascinating!

  • he's a redneck now!

  • Wow. This is amazing in stem cell research progess.

  • Noooo fucking way >.<

    niice.

im still distracted by the most epic run

  • @satansaysimnuts Satan says you're nuts? I agree. You are way out of touch. You realize SOPA & PIPA weren't passed, right?

  • Who else has been wondering about this since I-Robot?

  • eww

  • Give this guy a Victory Cookie!

  • That guy has awesome hair :)

  • This is incredible, this person should win a Nobel Prize for practically solving not only burn injuries but Skin Regeneration problems as well.

  • WHY IS THIS VODEO BANNED IN MY COUNTRY?

    COMPLETE BULLSHIT!!!

    FUCKING SOPA AND PIPA.

THERE IS NO REASON TO BANNED A VIDEO LIKE THIS IN CANADA>

    OH WAIT>

AMERICAN INVENTION WITH NO CANADA PATENT YET>

COCK SUCKERS......FUCK YOU YOU YOUTUBE !!!!

  • @satansaysimnuts

    Thank god for VPN

  • @satansaysimnuts Hey yeah, neither of those bills passed so that has nothing to do with it.

  • Dude, that shit cray.

  • This is a miracle, this man that made this gun... .I wanna shake his hand.... Now Get your ass back in the lab and make a cure for cancer...

  • @SteamReaper

he should get a Nobel prize to further his work

  • @SteamReaper

They already made the cure for cancer through it a little dangerous.

  • @SteamReaper

Like Scionwoods stated below, we have a cure for cancer. It's dangerous, but it's a cure that has helped save countless lives. If you're looking for the eradication of most cancer, you have to look no further than ourselves. Better living, healthier living and not taking our bodies for granted will do more for cancer than any treatment AFTER you get it.

  • @NinjaBlueScorpion You couldnt have said that any better!!!

  • @SteamReaper They did. It's cannabis.

  • @SteamReaper there is a cure for cancer now...google high school girl finds cancer cure and read the report. cheers

  • @evamariaspinelli I understand your judgment evamariaspinelli, but why only stand to use this exceptional technological achievement on only one complication? Haven't you heard of the saying "Killing Two Birds With One Stone"?

  • wow! I am ready to sell this

  • how could you dislike this video ??????????

  • I wonder if it can be used to cure acne.

  • Amazing! I wish they had this thirty years ago at the Metallica pyrotechnics accident.

  • @guccione2 lol

    true to that

  • Awesome

  • I said this after i saw the touch screen window, I LOVE THE FUTURE!

  • threw gas onto a fire while people were near????

well, due to such stupidity, im sure they will kill themselves soon

  • The inventor's hair suggests he's working on a "hair gun" - but it has not been perfected just yet. LMAO

  • @BillGoose1313

    That was funny as hell.

  • I'm not sure what's more amazing, the device or that guy's hair do.

  • @Brom24 I concur. XD

  • @Brom24 idea, I wonder if they can do this or similar with ANY tissue? hair re-growth? broken bones fixed in days or weeks?

  • we got the predators first aid kit finally!

  • This is good technology, but I bet it costs a shitload because of greedy little shits up at the top.

  • @PatrioticPoison you said it. fuck insurance companies

  • @lynchthetrolls34 No, fuck all the greedy bastards out there. Especially education institutions, that is the root of all evil.

  • I have learned so much.

  • WOW...

  • they said his left arm was burn but they show his right arm wtf

  • @greenbunnyish HE said his right arm and they showed his right arm.

  • @justsomerandomdude22 You both are dumb because that wasn't his arm.

  • haven't been this blown away in a LONG time. I have to think there's a catch somewhere.

  • Amazing

  • Amen Brother!

  • A skin gun is a great help to humanity.

I saw a man on this video whom needs an hair gun.

  • Too bad Harvey Dent didn't find out about this....

  • they should really test this on a vitiligo patient.

  • Thats fucking astounding!

  • @LosStoffer how is it being funded by Christians? idk where you're getting your info sir but they are getting it from the gov regardless. Besides they are good Christians if they are helping medicine, it's from the devil :P i kid...or do i?

  • hinesgaming

  • Wow!!

  • WHY ARE WE NOT SUPPORTING TIHS !!!

  • @akuma9527 Family Guy reference Win.

  • This is just amazing!

  • holy shit! awesome!!!! how much is it the system though looks pretty simple though

  • im a burn surviver i wish they had this wen i was burned three years ago, the did the cloning instead like the vid talked about but the graphs failed since my docter didnt give my body enough vitamins for it to heal

  • where is my flying car?

  • this is so cool

  • I thought it was going to be a gun under some guy's skin....I feel dumb now

  • @NinjaFrog10 Actually, you're smarter now. You have learned something that millions and millions of other people DON'T know.

    You should even feel smarter.

  • @nemo227 That's a good way to look at it. Thank you kind sir.

  • @NinjaFrog10

Don't feel bad. That was my first thought, too.
