  • and why did he lose a leg becuase he was stupid and didnt look after his diabetes

  • check out my ron santo tribute

  • Two dislikes for Ron Santo and his story. What a couple of rectal ducts.

Ron Santo was a great player on the field and a greater person off. Baseball's Hall of Fame is a lesser place without him .

    R.I.P. #10

  • CHECK OUT MY RON SANTO TRIBUTE

  • RIP Ronnie!

  • Not only one of the greatest Cubs to ever play the game, but possibly the BIGGEST Cubs fan ever...love ya Ronnie

  • i am a cubs fan because of three ppl....my father, my grandfather, and ron santo...i respect the hell out of who he was and what he stood for...there was no bigger cubs fan....RIP

  • R.I.P Ron, R.I.P Ron

  • RIP Ronnie and Go Cubs.

  • You will be missed!!

  • listening to games this year will not be the same. its so sad to think he'll get in next time around. sad day today boy...

  • RIP Ron Cubs baseball wont be the same experience without you...

  • Ron Santo was family to me. Sitting on the 3rd base side in Wrigley in the late 60's.I remember the passion he played with. I shed a tear today for him.God bless you Ron Santo. You were the greatest. R.I.P.

  • The great Ron Santo has just passed away at the age of 70. He will be missed.

  • Ron is our Hall of Famer........God speed Ronnie !!!

  • R.I.P. Ron Santo. You are now in the REAL hall of fame, my Brother! ~peace

  • You are my hero.I remember you in 1969.I'm a White Sox Fan now but, bother I remember when I was a Cubs fan and you are an inspirationto me.My daughter has Diabetes now and I hope the best for you.Be well.I hope you make it into the Hall of fame.Thank you very much. Thanks for the memoris.Be well my friend.Thank You and God Bless you.

  • He should be in the HOF!!!! He's the NL Brooks Robinson!

  • Ronnie maybe should be in the hall, but he is by far the most uninformative baseball color guy I have ever heard in my 58 years on this planet. Pat Hughes carries him on the radio. Hughes does his own job AND Santos. He practically pries and input Santo has at all out of him. Count how many times Huges makes an observation that Santo should be making as a color guy, and listen to Santo respond with the word "Very" followed by what ever it is that Huges said.

  • All you Ron Santo haters in this thread are complete idiots. I have Type 1 Diabetes and realize what this guy accomplished. He is a wonderful announcer and isn't afraid to say when his team disgusts him instead of always bragging. He is a Hall of Fame baseball player and human being. Those of you insulting him can go to hell.

  • gorkyluver, You are a stupid idiot, and a cocksmoker. I hope you die and go to hell.

  • Pretty sad that one of the greatest 3rd basemen isn't in the HOF.

  • Santo is a wonderful inspiration. And I love listening to him during the summer on WGN. Hughes and Santo rule the radio!

  • @EeVvAaNn3 even more sad that its gonna take him to die to get into the HOF

  • @EeVvAaNn3 is now....

  • I think Santo should be in the hall of fame, so should Ludwick, and Pool Host, and Caray, and Brickhouse, and Pat Hughes, and Soriano, and Ramirez...

  • great video, great story.

  • Why is Ron Santo not in the Hall of Fame!!!!!

  • I totally agree! Best 3B in the N.L. in the 60's and his offensive stats dominate those of Brooks Robinson.

  • Because the Hall of Fame doesn't deserve Ronnie.

  • the both should be in you twat.

  • No, Sandberg deserves to be in. Was one of the best 2nd basemen ever.

  • wow i love ron santo!

  • This guy is such an inspiration. So many people make excuses all day long why they can't take initiative in their lives, and people like Santo teach us that there are no excuses.

I think what separates the great ball players from the mediocre ones is their sense of character.

Check out this article about the philosophy of Ty Cobb at "paulneedzaeducation com"

  • Ron Santo is an inspiration to the people who are living with diabetes. Some people wouldn't know what to do if they had to live what Santo has had to live with. People who make fun of him, I just hope they never get diagnosed with some disease or illness.

  • hes in the hall of fame in our hearts and if u havnt seen his movie this old cub u gotta c it

  • Not only is Ronnie a hall of fame ballplayer, he's a hall of fame human being. God bless you, Ronnie.

  • it a shame ron isnt in the hall of fame for what he has gone through and for how he played. but the day he got his number retired he went up the and said this is my hall of fame. he deserves to see the cubs win a world series.

  • Ron Santo is my favorite Cub.Ron Santo,Ernie Banks, and Billy Williams are the greatest legends in Cubs history. He and Pat are the best broadcasters EVER!

  • My favorite CUB of all time. What morons do they have making HOF decisions. One of the greatest third baseman ever play. Met him and such a great person to talk with. CUBBIE #10 will be there in HOF.

  • My grandmother had diabetes as well and her life was not easy. Santo deserves to be in the HOF and his CUBS deserve to win the World Series while the man is alive to enjoy it.

  • It's a shame that Ron isn't in the Hall of Fame. He's done so much and played so hard, he deserves it without any question or doubt.

  • Ron Santo is a inspiration and a true class act. Screw anyone who has a bad POV about him.

  • Hall of Famer no doubt!!! 9 time All Star, gold glove winner 5 years in a row, 2,254 career hits, averaged 25 HRs & 96 RBIs a season, only missed 12 games from 1961-1969! The guy was commited and was talented both with the bat and the glove!

  • You know-- its people like you that deserve horrible things to happen to them. I would be happy to pound you senseless,, but you are nothing but a coward and a loser. You dont even deserve my time of day. Now go back to the hole you crawled out of and go fuck youself!

  • Now thats 100 years of bitter ass cub fan loser bullshit...and the hole I like to be in best is the one between your sister's legs...Let her know Im glad her rates haven't gone up too much in this economy.

Mommy taught her well. Santo still sucks and so do you fag boy

  • Internet tough guy-- typical and expected. Learn how to talk shit before posting this garbage. You sound like a 16 year old kid that got picked on everyday in highschool and is just mad at the world. So go ahead with your life being a total loser that contributes nothing to society-- while I keep on living the life you WISH you had...

  • I totally agree.Ron was THE National League third baseman in the 60s.A total shame he isn't in the Hall of Fame. And I am not even a big Chicago Cub fan even though it would be nice for them to win the Series.

  • i think this issue could go either way.had a very good career while he played but it just ended to soom. There is no dout that he would make it into the HOF if his career was longer. If you go by this he shouldnt be in the HOf.

other hand he was great while he lasted and was a great man on/off the field. But u have to wonder if the diabetes has anything to do with it.

my opinion: i would induct him into the hall of fame. this is coming from a lifelon seasonticket holder

    Go Cubbies

  • On the field Santo was a gamer. Off the field he was a class act. A great ambassador for the Cubs, the city of Chicago and the game.

  • That's right. Just ask him.

  • Or ask anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him and knowing his family. I have. You haven't, dumbass.

  • Ooooh. Can I be your friend?

  • Worst announcer in sports history. Shameless self-promoter. Uses his disease as a crutch whenever and wherever possible. To this day he still tries to use his diabetes to guilt voters into electing him to the HOF. He doesn't deserve it. Period.

  • You sir a COMPLETE ASS!

  • What He lost both of his limbs and while he was playing he was already type 2 Insulate dependent he retired when he was only 34 years old!

  • You can go Staraight to hell with that one you soxfan ass wipe

  • Lifelong CUBS fan.....who cares if he had diabetes while he was playing? It has NOTHING to do with whether or not he belongs in the HOF, which he does not.

  • You're not an ASS because you claim he does not deserve to be in the HOF. You're an ASS because of your undocumented claim that he "tries to use his diabetes to guilt voters into electing him to the HOF." Prove it or STFU.

  • Wow 10,000? Post one on You Tube. After all "10,000" would break down to about TWENTY-FIVE YEARS worth of interviews if he did one daily. Or are you exaggerating ... AGAIN?

  • He should be in the Hall of Fame.He was a hell of player.

  • If he was a hell of a player he would be in the h.o.f.

  • nice video go cubs!
